Bad Nanny/Au Pair Sighting at White Plains Nordstrom

Where: Nordstrom White Plains, NY
When: 7/8/2015 4:30ish
Description of the Nanny: I saw Your Nanny, or liikely Au Pair, straight reddish blonde hair, pink and white striped blouse, denim capris, white flip flops, no make up, carrying a yellow leather bag with a lion face on it.
Description of the child: "Nathan" White, brown hair, curls, unsure of eyes. Wearing a red t-shirt with yellow writing on it, blue dress shorts and brown sandals. The sandals were brown and green leather.
Incident: The nanny was shopping for bras and really short with the kid who wouldn't stay by her side. She kept yelling "Nathan" and he wouldn't answer because he was being his age and not enjoying her shopping. He hid in a rack of clothes. She huffed over to retreieve each time and each time got progressively rougher. I swear she almost dislocated his arm. She would hold his hand and continue looking at bras and then she would drop his hand as she picked an item and looked at it more closely. As soon as she dropped his hand, he was off. This repeated several times. Then he sat down on her foot and started hitting her on the shins saying he wanted his mommy. "I WANT MY MOMMY I WANT MY MOMMY".  She grabbed him up by the neck of his shirt and told him, "you are rotten, rotten," She threw the things in her hands down and took off to the escalator where she he continued to cry and she just help him with his arm bent back with a pissed off look on her face. As other people passed her by she would say,"you cannot behave like this in a store Nathan, this is not okay, we are going outside". I was going outside to talk to her, planning to approach her and ask if she needed help but we lost them! If you know Nathan's au pair (I can't place her accent but it wasn't run of the mill), let the parents know to observe her when she isn't expecting it and draw their own conclusions.

Employer Demands Nanny Pay for Front End Damage

I am a nanny in the White Plains area and have a problem that could cost me my job. As part of my daily responsibilities, I drive the children to school and appointments. Last week, while coming out of a parallel parking spot, I hit a truck. There was no damage to the truck, but damage to the left front end of my employer's car. I called them right away. They first said insurance was going to handle it. Then they said, they were not going through their insurance company, but we're just going to pay for it. On Monday, my female boss told me that they were not comfortable paying for the damage because I caused it and it was my error. The estimate is $1750 for the damage. She told me she wanted me to pay for it. I talked to some nanny friends and they told me that wasn't fair so I talked to them both Tuesday night and said that they made the choice not to go through their insurance company and that it was their choice and I wasn't going to pay. The father became really irritated and said something like, "you're standing here telling us what you will and won't do?" He also said, "I guess you REALLY needed that donuts, didn't you?" That remark was in reference to my weight. I got the ticket after stopping to get a bagel and coffee, during my down time while I was out running errands for my female boss anyway. Our conversation ended with my male boss telling me that they would be taking out $250 a week from my paycheck until the debt is paid. He also told me, "you're welcome to walk out that door, but I wonder what you think you'd be leaving with". He was really mean and made me cry. I know, pathetic. I left in tears. This morning I showed up on time and he was gone. I dealt with my female boss who said, "I'm sorry you were so upset. I worried about you getting home okay." But that's it. Do you know how I feel right now? Like I've had nine cups of coffee. I know the error was my own. What do I do? I work as a live-out nanny, off the books and get paid $785 per week. I really need some advice. I am getting all kinds of advice, like "get more estimates, see if a friend can fix it for you, ask to pay less per week, ask to work more hours and have the extra hours go towards the repair bill."  Help!

Westchester Mall Food Court in White Plains, NY

I thought I would share this Good Nanny Sighting with you! I was at the Westchester Mall in White Plains, NY on lunch break with my boyfriend. At the table next to us was a young woman, possibly from the Netherlands. She was blonde and had an unfamiliar accent. She had three children under 5 with her.

It was amazing watching how she choreographed getting each child the food that they wanted from a different food court location, while still keeping all the kids together and within reach.

Then, when she finally sat down, she has no food or drink in front of her. She goes about setting up catsup and drinks for the children and? After watching what like an athletic event, she starts spelling with the kids. Everytime she gets to the youngest child (about 2??) she says, "I" or "A". The way she encouraged the kids to cheer for each other, be patient and use manners was so impressive. The kids ate. Then she helped them pack up their trash and had each child take their own garbage, one by one. She was going to walk with the youngest but the oldest child asked to help. I don't know who you are, employer of this woman, but your kids are in the best hands! What a kind and positive demeanor. It was the calmest, coolest table in the whole food court.

Nanny: About 5'6", short blonde hair, attractive face,wearing blue jeans and an ITHACA sweatshirt.
Children" Boy, age 2, brown hair, brown corduroys jeans, white sweater, hiking boots. Boy, approximately 5, brown hair, blue jeans, same hiking boots as younger boy. Girl, approximate age 3, pony tails with red & white ribbons, red dress, red tights and red mary janes.
Stroller: Double stroller, blue with a brown and blue plaid pattern on the fabric.

Old Navy - Galleria Mall - NY

I Saw Your Nanny at the Old Navy at the White Plains Galleria

Must report bad nanny. She was at Old Navy in White Plains, NY at the Galleria Mall. The children were 2 boys, 1 in a baby seat/stroller combo and one with reddish curly hair wearing black check pants like a chef and black high tops. He were about 4. This nanny dont know what she was, like a mutt I think. No matter. She treated this boy like a sin. She coo to the one in the stroller but yank the other boy by his arm and tried to run him over. I saw her out the corner of my eye and I hear the boy say to her 'you ran over my foot' and she says 'no i didnt, stop lying'. But I saw it. That big boy looked so sad. Somebody has them a nasty nanny. Yesterday (Tuesday, December 15) 4:10 pm. The nanny was wearing purple velvet boots.

Bad Nanny Sighting in Downtown White Plains, NY

Incident:
Nanny (she had nanny written all over her) showed alarming disregard for baby of 4-10 months as she left the bank. The bank has a set of grand, steep steps. The nanny took the steps face forward with the baby bouncing down them in the umbrella stroller. Nanny made no attempt to rock said stroller back in fourth, but rather propelled stroller down steps in lackadaisical fashion. Baby's head was observed lolling back and fourth in a herky, jerky motion. Additionally, child had a frightened and alarmed look on his face as his mouth remained agape the entire time.
Nanny seemed disconnected to child.
