Saturday, October 25, 2008.what does a provider do in order to accept ACD vouchers (Bronx)
here it is. I was helping one of the parents who takes her baby to the same lady who watches after my child and i took her to the ACD office on Willis and 145 street she wants to know why she never received the Appointment but she did get the application for acd. Anyway to make a long story short they told her drop the application in a basket along with all her photo copied documents and you will get something in the mail. The lady was also saying that The Provider she curently had was not a public provider only Private beacuse she dont take vouchers, I was like what makes you say that because if she is not on the list of public daycares that they have she is private. I did not understand DIDLY SQAUT of what the hell that meant. she was also saying the waiting list is 3 years long . So we left the application there with all the photo copied papers I wanted to go with her to 16 street where ACS is. I dont know if this was the proper Procedure, She was also telling us nobody is guarantted anything Aint noboby tell us to have babies. We just ignored the ignorant remarks. When BLACK woman feel they have POWER they like to run with it and discriminate just like when SLAVERY. No one has anything to do with what happened. If people feel they want to carry that load thier WHOLE life, fine be miserable. But dont deny people of what they may be intitle to/. After wards I went to Motor Vehicles to get a Written exam and just cause my Permit expired another Black lady was being STUBBORN this is all the TIME. WHerever there is a black WOMAN and she is in control she will destroy you and step all over you like a bug. I simply Say that is just thier insecurities, this is why they discriminate on Spanish woman so demn much. stop it. its not our faults we can actually GROW HAIR !

The Bright Tattoo girl seems weird-"discreet and open minded?" Sounds like she may be looking for other things as well.
Who would name their child Chaos? And to be a SAHM at 19? Wow! Kaycee looks like someone I wouldn't trust my class or charge with, let alone my cats, and we know they are my world. This girl also sounds like she has an attitude problem, and just ewwwww!
$300 a night, 7 children 6 years-5months, and do they know what birth control is? I would never take that job! Yikes.

These were... wow, just wow. The one with 7 children, to me, sounds like more than one family, but they are paying $60/ hour. If I lived in their area, I would have taken that.
The other ones, mostly just creepy. The "metalheadmum" is definately the absolute worst. She sounds so condescending and bitter. Her comment about "an irrational fear of reptiles in tanks" takes the cake. I know that all of my kids were, as toddlers, terrified of most reptiles and probably would have flipped out if one had been in the house. That one comment shows me why she is the WRONG person to be taking care of kids.
We get a lot of the "I need someone NOW" ads and I am still floored every time I read them. How could anyone leave their children with a complete stranger on a moment's notice???? That's really WTF.

The ACD Vouncher lady has serious issues. Really, how much more rediculous can you get?
I don't like to judge people by their appearance. However, MetalheadMum's pictures combined with her ad, I would never consider her as a babysitter! I imagine a frantic phone call telling me Timmy put his hand in the reptile tank and is now missing a finger. Not to mention that her son is not strapped into his carseat correctly in that picture.
Arvada actually sounds like a good gig. I agree with children not getting too much tv, video games, etc, but from the sounds of her post, he doesn't get too much of that outside of being babysat. Sounds like Mom has a good sense of teaching her child but also allowing him to have fun.
I hate seeing ads where people need a sitter ASAP. Especially when they want a sitter to keep their kids at the sitter's house. It's just so incredibly dangerous and dumb.

You said MetalMum didn't have her kid strapped in right. Other than the cover sleeve falling off (which is nothing more than comfort and aesthetics) - the only thing I see wrong is the belt bar hasn't been pulled up around his chest (yet) - is that what you meant?
Yes, the chest clip wasn't at armpit level. It was very low, out of the picture. With it that low, the straps could slip off of his shoulders in an accident, and the clip could cause belly damage. The chest clip is meant to be at armpit level, where it rests on the strongest part of the chid's chest.
Forgot to mention another mistake. The shoulder straps are coming from below his shoulders. When a child is forward facing, the straps must be at or above the child's shoulders to properly protect the child's spine in an accident.
