Mother's Day 2008

Happy Mother's Day to all of the amazing mothers and grandmothers out there.
Today marks the 100th anniversary of Mother's Day. Anna Jarvis, who never married and never had children, got the idea for the holiday after her mother said it would be nice if someone created a memorial to mothers. So she did.
Do you have a Mother's Day story to share?

Hello To All,

I have a 3yrd son who I will be seeking childcare for. I will be moving to Hoboken next week and will be looking for employment immediately. I will be able to afford $115 a week for now. I know its not much but as I get a job and depending on how much the pay is I will be willing to re-negotiate the pay. My son is very well mannered and normally warms up to people within a few days. I will need a babysitter Mon-Fri. Depending on my work hours will determine the exact times. I'm looking for someone who is patient and loves to teach children and watch them grow. If this sound like something you would be interested in then please email me at your earliest conveniece.

Thank You,
Melissa B.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before anyone says anything Hoboken is extremely expensive. There are no cheaper areas!
And if she is on section 8 (Rent assistance) then she qulaifies for a daycare stipend while she searches for work. She would have been informed of all her rights when applying for section 8.
And again I urge young people to consider that while it is is their right to have babies, as many as they want, it is their duty to be able to provide properly for the children they bring into this world. It is irresponsible to have a child or children when you already know you can't take care of one.

I don't really have a story, but I do have some fond memories.

When I was really little, around 4 or 5 yrs. old, my Mom and Dad would go play cards every Friday night. At 8:00, it would be time for all the kids to go to bed.
The Adults would put on the song "Puff the Magic Dragon" for us, and we'd all sing it and go to bed.

I remember my Mom waking us up around 5 a.m. - time to go home.
On the way, we would always stop at "Dunkin Donuts" for breakfast.
It was so much fun ...

And as for a particular smell, my Mom always used to wear "Persian Wood" perfume ... it smelled heavenly!
They don't make it anymore, but I still have an old empty bottle of it - and once in a blue moon, I'll take a little whiff of it!
I ♥ you, Mom!

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mommies on ISYN. Also, I wanted to remind MPP to tune in to Law & Order tonight.

And I forgot to mention what a great message that was MPP. Bittersweet.
