Burger King in Elmsford, NY

Received Thursday, October 30, 2008.
nanny sighting logo I saw a bad manny today (Tuesday 10/28, about 11:45 AM) in the area of Elmsford. He was driving a red manny car. It was like a hyundai suv with tinted windows and NY license. He was first at Burger King with his charges and he was cool with them inside the place. Then he want outside, put the kids in their carseats and blasted up his senseless rap music. The music was so loud my heart was jumping around in my chest. That was the base that I felt.

What I did not find funny was he then reparked and waited for a few and then some other men came up beside him and rolled down their windows. The guy gets out of his manny car and is leaning on their car and talking to them and totally ignoring his charges, who by now are having their brains rattled to shreds by the horrible loud music. The guys all smoke a cigarette. Well, at least I think it was a cigarette. My friend thought it was a blunt, which is more like a cigar stuffed with pot. The door to the drivers side of the manny's vehicle was open the whole time, and it was like 45 degrees outside. If you have two white children with curly hair, a boy and a girl about 3 years old and a male, AA manny who drives a red manny car, please give him a stiff talking to.

OK so maybe i should know this....but what is a "manny car"...i mean did it say manny on it? I'm a little confused.

Just WTH is a "manny" car??

Anonymous said...

That is just too damn funny. The point of this post is going to get lost because of the phrase "manny car". LMAO. Now tell me, why am I envisioning some kind of hooptie?

How did you have any clue that he was a "manny" or "nanny"--and not the boy's father, or the mother's boyfriend...an uncle...or whatever?????

Indeed, OP, this is a poor way to act with young ones around; but how do you know that he is a "manny?" Other than that-- WHOEVER it is needs to get a clue about tinitis (sp?) and second hand smoke.... Thnaks for posting--- even if it now the nanny, someone needs to know how somone is behaving around their children

Amen momkat. OP doesn't seem very credible.
I think her disgust of rap music clouded over any sound judgement she could have made.

you have questions, we have answers.

Whoever he was he wasn't looking after those kids as he should have been. Maybe it was a red SUV.

Whoever he was, he wasn't watching those kids properly. Disgusting.

This doesn't sound like a manny to me. It sounds like he is the dad. Just because he is AA the kids can still come out looking caucasion.
My sister has a friend who is half black half mexican. and this little girl has blonde curly hair and olive skin... just because the kids seem to be a different race doesn't mean they are not related.
The reason I don't think that this is a manny becuase he was onviously not doing a job. I would hope that he would take his position as a caregiver more seriously. But this is how i see a lot of dad with their kids.

ok,so the kids where fed and well taken care of.. then placed safely in carseats. Rap music may not be your choice..would you have posted this had he been blasting Christian or country music?

There is nothing wrong with having a smoke, outside of the car while the children are safe inside and away from the smoke.
Meeting up with friends for a few minutes at the local burger joint does not constitute child neglect or even a bad nanny sighting in my opinion.
This sounds like a post about a dad out with his kids and nothing more? Sorry OP..not trying to discourage you from posting..this just sounds like many young dads in our city.Kids are fed, happy & safely strapped into carseats..sounds pretty good to me.

"OP doesn't seem very credible.

I'm sorry, I think your brain must be clouded over. Why in the world would her comment about the loud music being rap make her less credible? Ridiculous. We are all allowed opinions, it doesn't mean we are liars.
I loathe Death Metal (or some call it fast metal) - because I find it senseless... you can't understand any of the words because they scream it at you.

I must have missed the part where it says this guy is AA. Did the OP even mention the racial background of the supposed manny?

Anonymous said...

yes. last line.

Not anonymous, my point was, she probably made a snap judgement about him because of the genre of music he likes. Hence, her judgement being clouded. Relax.

Phoenix and noteveryone, I concur. I guess the same point I was trying to make was more easily understood in your wording, noteveryone.

LOL at how she had to tell us what a blunt is.

I would be pissed if my kids were exposed to super loud music. It damages their hearing.

so we have az nanny... are you from az?

Anonymous said...

Hehe..."manny car"...good one!

What is a hooptie? A blunt is marijuana wrapped in a tobacco leaf instead of regular rolling paper.

LOL, a hooptie is a big ol' piece of crap car, but I have seen some guys wax that baby up and make the rust on it shine!

Oh, one more thing.. the stereo is usually worth more than the car, LOL. They will put a $600 stereo with top of the line speakers.... in a $300 car!

I was driving the other day with my charges, and the 6 year old asked me to turn to music up "like a teenager" haha... both boys got a kick out of the music being loud.

Just sayin'.

Hey, I blare my music (not with kids in the car) and I'm not a teenager! Granted, I'm blaring KSBJ (contemporary christian) LOL!

Ah, ok, see the AA reference now-thanks!

basically this post is only a bad sighting if it is indeed a manny. And caregivers have to be put on a higher pedestule then parents because THEY ARE GETTING PAID. If this guy was a relative or a friend, then he isn't getting paid and he's allowed a smoke if wanted or to meet up with friends. The kids were safe and 45 degrees isn't that cold...I guess maybe cuz I'm from MN and I may be used to colder weather, but still.

My charges always want the music turned up. They start dancing and singing and its so cute! I don't think its really that bad to blast the music, people need to relax!

The resource that you mentioned here is something that I have been looking from quite a time. And finally it ended with such a nice blog post. "The music was so loud my heart was jumping around in my chest. That was the base that I felt." i really Like that.
