hi everyone! tomorrow is my last day working for my familly, i have been with them for about 7 months. things are ending on a positive note, they were a lovely familly to work with. i'm wondering if i should get them a little gift to show my appreciation for them? maybe a bottle of wine and a card, or maybe just a heartfelt note? what are your thoughts?

Absolutely! If you want to let them know you appreciated them, go for it. When I left my last job, I made a little photo collage of the baby and gave it to the mom to show my appreciation. It was free from a photo website, so I was glad to do it. Normally, I say gift down, not up but if you're leaving anyway I don't think it matters much.
I'm with MissMannah. A collage is a great idea! Alternatively (or additionally), a nice note thanking them for being such great employers is a great idea as well.
I love to take pictures, so when I left my last job they received a beautiful 5x7 photo of their daughter that I took and signed. (xoxo Amy) I bought the frame from Michaels. The whole gift might have cost $20 but it made them kind of teary:)
Leave a very nice recommendation letter about them for next nanny and a thank you note for them. And maybe a nice bouquet.
