Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a daycare in Escambia or Santa Rosa counties that was attended by a child considered to be endangered. The photographs are believed to have been taken between 2005 and 2010 at a daycare facility in Florida's Escambia or Santa Rosa counties. Pensacola Police Department investigators have said the facility may or may not still be in operation.
Detective Chris Wilkinson said the child is believed to have been three to four years of age when photographed at the facility. The reason why investigators are searching for the child is not being released.
Wilkinson said employees of the daycare facility are not believed to be involved in criminal activity. “The goal of releasing the photographs is to try and help identify the female child who attended or attends the facility,” Wilkinson said. “We are hoping that by identifying the facility, we can show employees the child’s photograph and possibly learn the child’s identity.”
Anyone who believes they can identify the daycare facility from the photographs is asked to contact Detective Chris Wilkinson at (850) 432-3140, ext. 1103, or the Pensacola Police Department at (850) 435-1900

I don't understand. Is the child missing? Is there a link to an article regarding this situation?

Perhaps if you recognize the daycare, you could call the police. Some information is sensitive, ya know!

There are tons of scenarios it could be. Cops could have found pics of child porn involving this child, but pictures of normal stuff (like the child in her daycare, or at the beach for vacation, etc) could have also been found, leading to a questioning of finding the child's identity.

It could be a missing child; it could be a kidnapped child; it could be a dead child.

Usually, when pics are being circulated like this with a question of identity, a crime has long past but has just recently came to light with an unknown victim.

A few years ago, for instance, a video was given to police involving a girl of about 3 yrs old being molested. The tape was about 7-10 yrs old, meaning the girl would be much older at the time the crime came to light. The police released a still-pic of the girl from the video, hoping someone from the girl's family would recognize her pic as a young preschooler and come forward so they could identify her, and then identify the molester.

I have a feeling this is a kidnapped child. It says in the post the owners of the daycare are not suspected of any criminal activity. Usually "endangered" child means runaway or kidnapped, and since the child was between the ages of three and four, I am betting it is not the former.

Oh, and I searched the web, and there really is no other information. The police are not releasing why they are looking for the child, just that they are looking for her and this daycare may be crucial in helping to find her.

Detective Wilkinson is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Regional Task Force (sadly this was probably child porn). Makes me sick to my stomach.
