Live Coverage - MyFox Orlando
Remains described as being those of a small child were found near the home of missing toddler Caylee Anthony's grandparents, a spokesman for the Orange County, Florida, sheriff's office said. The discovery was made about 9:30 a.m. by a utility worker who alerted authorities, spokesman Jim Solomons said. Investigators, including those from the Anthony case, were on the scene, he said. The area where the remains were found had been searched as part of the investigation into Caylee's disappearance, he said. But the precise spot where a county meter reader found them -- "45, 50, 60 feet back" from the street -- was flooded at the time of the search.
George And Cindy Defend Casey On "Larry King Live" - Video
Cindy and George Anthony appeared on CNN's Larry King Live Wednesday night, but offered very little new information. The Anthonys said they are trying to keep the search for their granddaughter Caylee as the main focus. However, the couple defended their daughter Casey in front of a national audience. Despite Casey being charged with murdering her own daughter, Cindy didn't have a problem defending her.
Jail Releases Videos Of Casey Anthony Visitations
Shocking new videos were released Thursday in the case against Casey Anthony. With each visit, Casey's parents Cindy and George appeared to be getting more and more desperate, more distraught, but Casey seemed to get more lighthearted, making jokes and talking about the laughs she's been having. Casey's parents desperately tried to get her to talk, to write letters, to talk to investigators. She put them off, made excuses and made promises she did not keep.
Updates on this Case will be given as they are Reported inside this Thread....

What is Cindy Anthony's problem? She's begging Casey to tell her all she knows about Zanny the Nanny, and it's like she's in la-la land. With all the information that's out there now, why can't this woman just accept that Caylee is dead? She has really lost her mind. Casey should be dragged out into the backyard and shot for making her mother this way.
THat entire family is completely insane. I don't mean that in a sarcastic sense, I mean that they are all desperately and completely mentally ill.
Can any of you imagine the circumstances where you would just shrug off the fact that you your grand daughter disappeared for a month? And weren't Casey and Caylee living with her parents at the time?
Yeah. This girl doesn't seem to get it. She seems like the classic sociopath. I'm afraid this story is not going to have a happy ending. We may never know what happened to that baby.
I don't know why you all keep posting about this care on here! It is extremely distasteful.
What is distasteful about it, Linda? Everyone is covering this story. At least, everyone was. Interest seems to have tapered a bit. I like that ISYN is still keeping up with the case.
Sadly, a small child's body (bones really) was found this morning about 1/2 a mile from the Anthony home.
I am extremely interested in this case.
I want them to find Caylee, and I want to know as soon as they do.
The whole family IS nuts. The e-mails back and forth between Cindy and her brother were insane. Clearly, these are a bunch of messed up people. The more I see, the more I realize it's no wonder Casey is a psychopath...and her mother's increasingly puzzling behavior is explained in the fact that it is becoming more and more apparent that the apple didn't fall too far from that tree. They both seem to be missing a reality chip. They make up these wild lies and think we are going to buy them...even when they don't make any rational sene...and even when the physical evidence clearly contradicts their words. I feel so sorry for Caylee wondering what her short life must have been like when her entire world consisted of these freaks...and then to be killed by the very person who was supposed to love her most....
And then nobody even pretends to go looking for her for an entire month? These are all twisted folks.
So now they think they found the body of this poor baby near the grandparents home. I wonder if they have been in on it all along.
I hope that Caylee is at peace where ever she may be.
I too agree that the fact that ISYN is covering this story,is very appropriate and in NO way distasteful?!
We all have one thing in common and that is a love for the children.Of course we want to be kept updated. Thank you ISYN.
Is this really true? Did they find what they think is Caylee's body right near their home?
What a fantastic coincidence that zanny the nanny, the boyfriend, or the mysterious people who are holding her for reasons that will "be made clear to us when the whole story comes to light" would go back to the Anthony's neighborhood to bury the little girl. I would think they might have been too frightened to do it so close to the family...who any normal person would assume was frantically searching for the child and had probably alerted the authorities immediately upon her disappearance! I can hardly wait to see the plausible explanation Casey and Cindy have for that! I am now sitting here wondering if they were all in on it and they waited a month to report her missing so that dogs and searchers would have trouble finding the body...or so that any evidence of how she died might have disintigrated by the time they did. Scum. All of them who knew a thing about this and didn't speak up immediately.
Casey is under suicide watch, as reported by Orange County Sherriffs Office. When she learned of this discovery, she started freaking out......
This may be Caylee, everyone.
Another Warrant was just served on the Anthony's house! They are going in and collecting evidence that may be related to the finding of this little girl's skeletal remains.
They think that they've found Caylee.
Oh man, that sounds like the bullsh*t that Scott Peterson's lawyer was trying to feed everyone about how Laci was really held captive by a Satanic group of homeless people until she delivered her baby, and then they must have killed her and the baby as a final step in their Satanic ritual. Oddly enough, I guess after "they" killed her, they just coincidentally dropped her body in the bay so that it washed up within a mile of where Scott had been fishing the day she went missing.
The only reason I hope Casey doesn't commit suicide is so that people who actually cared about her daughter can finally get the truth about what happened, and some closure. And of course, because she should experience a good dose of her own Hell on Earth before she is allowed to move on.
How did they just find this now, months later? I don't understand just WTF the police down in Florida have been doing all this time! yeah, i saw the part where they say that area was flooded during a first search, but, is that the only time they searched the area? this whole case makes me soo angry!
Ugh. This entire situation is just so absolutely heartbreaking. If the body they found IS Caylee, I doubt Casey will come clean or make any attempt to tell anyone what occurred.
Oh? And Casey is now under suicide watch? yeah, cause now the world will know the truth that she killed her daughter! I hate to say this, but, why try to keep this monster alive?
Adria
You know she's going to say it wasn't her, she'll say zanny the nanny did it.
She needs to come clean, mainly so that her parents can cope with the TRUTH and get on with grieving!
Yeah, I also heard she started crying and screaming when officers told her they found the body down the street from her parents. They are heavily guarding her. She's only acting like that because she knows it's over, she's caught.
She knows that they now have a body. Her attorney probably had advised her was much to her benefit that they never find Caylee. Clearly, the plan was to pretend they believed Caylee was alive somewhere, which, if they could trick a jury into believing even MIGHT be possible, would prevent them form being able to convict Casey of murder. Now the jig is up...and again, I'd like to see what drug addled sounding excuse they are going to give for some random other person burying Caylee right in their own neighborhood.
Maybe they didn't find the body on the first go around of searches because she was still buried in the backyard of their home at that time...or placed at some interim location, and then moved to the final spot after it had been searched.
Oh, and as for Cindy, I firmly believe that, if she didn't know right off the bat what happened to Caylee, she absolutely has known for qiute some time. I feel for her trying to save her own daughter...but she has crossed too many lines by now to make it understandable that she has carried it to this degree. It's one thing not to report what you know (not OK, but I could get why she might do that)but quite another to lie to investigators, and even go on the offensive against law enforcement and try to implicate other people, such as the boyfriend or a nanny...even if she is pretend. Some random Zanaida Gonzales who happened to be in the wrong place at the worng time could have found herself in a world of trouble. Not OK. And the larry King thing...too far over thge top for my taste.
someone should kill the bitch.
Gimmeabreak
The police are saying that that specific area was searched a couple of times - each time they went out the water level being lower. When this utility guy went to take a pee, he saw a garbage bag and looked in and saw the bones.
Tim, from equusearch, says that it was only pure luck that this guy stumbled upon the remains, and that the water was very low, enabling the find.
Casey kept on saying her little girl was "close" --- that she could feel it in her heart.
Well, she was. Here's a map of the Anthony's home, and the close distance away where the body was found, .4mi down the road.
Hopefully one of them was enough of a dumbass to touch the bag or leave some other dna evidence on it or in it...and hopefully the evidence was somehow preserved. Actually, I hope everybody involved left evidence on the bag so we will be able to know who did this and have the evidence to prove who all participated in the body dump. I strongly suspect she was first buried in their yard and then moved later...possibly with help. If the bag was sealed, there will almost certainly be soil evidence to prove it. Cross your fingers everybody.
Mom
I don't know how, but you have nailed what the investigators are speculating.
The bag does not look like it has been weathered... meaning it doesn't look like it's been there for 6 mo. So, what does that mean? That it's quite possible another person moved it there....
And since there was tape found on the body, there's a good chance they will find prints. Tape is a great preserver of finger prints.
I am forever watching those true life forensic crime shows. It's amazing what they can do with even the tiniest trace of evidence. They can use the stages of larvae on a body, or a tiny hair or a fiber caught in tape or on a body, or fingerprints in the most unlikely of places. Unless the girl was washed in a tremendously vigorous way, they will probably find dirt somewhere on her and be able to match it against specific possible burial sites. If her neck was broken they will probably connect that up with the internet searched her mom did and use it as circumstantial evidence. I am just hoping that whoever left her there was too overly confident and cocky in their assumption that seh wouldn't be found that they weren't terribly careful to not leave any evidence.
But something troubles me about what you say too. If they moved her recently...WHY put her back near home? Is somebody really that stupid and arrogant? Or did they maybe plant false evidence on her and place her where she could be found? I am quite suspicious of these people and think they will stop at nothing to throw investigators off the track. Time will tell. I hope the first scenario turns out to be the true one...that they are just that stupid and arrogant and that all of the evidence pints right back to the real killer and body
dumper(s).
Nice "talking" with you today MPP! You and Jane are truly angels. You help people in ways you probably cannot even begin to imagine sometimes.
There are NO OTHER MISSING children in the Orlando area. This is Caylee.
Mom
You are too kind. It's posters like you that care about this Blog that we really appreciate.
As for the discovery, I'm wondering if someone was just feeling guilty that this had gone on long enough? My original thought was that searchers just missed the body because the water was too high where it was found.... but to hear that the bag isn't "weathered"?? I don't even think I am able to speculate how it got there, and why, after all this time? It just boggles the mind.
Could it be that someone thought the area had been searched so many times that it was now a safe spot to return the body to?
Now, that's a thought. Good one, sad woman!
UPDATE:
The Anthony's Home is now considered an official Crime Scene. Something was found in that bag that led Detectives back to the home, looking for evidence.
As for the bag, the reason it was not weathered is because it had been under water all of this time, and plastic is very resiliant.
I will Post more Information as it comes.....
Investigators "absolutely" found something of interest while searching the home of missing child Caylee Anthony's grandparents, Orange County, Florida, Sheriff Kevin Beary said on Friday.
Remains described as being those of a small child were found Thursday morning near the home of grandparents George and Cindy Anthony, a spokesman for the sheriff's office told CNN.
Their home was searched overnight after the discovery.
Thank you for keeping this up to date MPP. It is no longer "big news" in Texas, so I have to hunt to find anything on this case, but I remain very interested in seeing the truth of what happened to Caylee come out, and those responsible held accountable.
Cops: Why we think skull is Caylee's
Investigators said Friday that they think remains found near a home where Caylee Anthony lived with her grandparents are those of the missing toddler.
But, they added, police and prosecutors are waiting until DNA and other tests are completed before making a positive identification.
Orange County, Florida, sheriff's spokesman Carlos Padilla gave three reasons for the belief the body is Caylee's:
• No other children have been reported missing in the area.
• The remains are consistent with a child of Caylee's age.
• They were found in close proximity to the home of Caylee's grandparents.
Florida officials have released a 911 call placed after a water meter reader discovered remains suspected of being missing 2-year-old Caylee Anthony.
During the approximately 2 minutes of tape released Friday an official identifies the area where a skull was found as "the Caylee Anthony area."
A male caller from Orange County Utilities emergency dispatch center tells the 911 operator, "We've found a human skull" before handing the call over to another man. The 911 operator gasps and tells the caller to make sure the worker doesn't touch it.
OMG, the reality is just sinking in...a skull. That beautiful child has been reduced to a skull...in a bag...tossed out like garbage. How...HOW did her mother bear seeing her beautiful child reduced to a skull?
And here's another question...if she was sealed in a bag, wouldn't that have prevented her flesh from disintegrating? It ususally dries up and disintegrates with the natural elements...but where is it all going to go if she's sealed in a bag? I am seriously wondering if this wasn't a dig up and redump situation. And if it was...again, HOW can somebody see the remains of a child they supposedly loved in that condition and go on living their normal lives after that? Somebody is very, very cold and twisted...that's one thing for sure.
Duct Tape Found Stuck To Mouth Of Child's Remains
All evidence is starting to show the remains found in east Orange County were likely Caylee Anthony and late Friday afternoon Eyewitness News obtained the 911 call made after the discovery.
Detectives have told Caylee's mother's attorney that the body size and hair color of the remains recovered are similar to Caylee's and the discovery of the child's skull with duct tape on the mouth is telling a much more gruesome story.

Casey's Parents May Eventually Face Charges
Sources close to the case told Eyewitness News that Casey's parents, George and Cindy, may someday face criminal charges. Sources tipped Eyewitness News off that George and Cindy Anthony checked into the luxury Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Eyewitness News has learned the sheriff's office is looking into charging the Anthonys with obstruction of justice.
Rooms go for about $300 a night at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and sources say they Anthonys had dinner at Normans on Thursday night, where dinner could cost $100 a person. The Anthonys recently hired attorney Brad Conway to replace Mark NeJame.
Conway could not tell Eyewitness News who is paying for the room, but said the Anthonys needed peace and quiet.
