This is so bad, I work on the Upper East Side, I took the kids to the playground this afternoon around 4pm, this little girl, was walking around crying and screaming looking all over for her nanny. all the other nannies in the playground got involved and took the child around the entire playground in search of her nanny, for about 45 minutes this little child wondered all over the place hysterical searching, but no nanny, the other nannies decided to call the cops after about 45 minutes. Then this woman walks up saying come, come and the little girl. This was so unbelievable to see how this woman did not keep an eye on this little girl. The nanny had short cut hair, she was dark skin, tall and medium built, she looked young and also had a baby in her care, the baby looked liked about maybe 6-9 mths. The little girl had on white shorts to her knee, I think she wore a pink shirt not to sure, her hair was cut short and was brown. I was not nice, PARENTS PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHO YOU HIRE. Very qualified people who sincerely love children most of you do not hire.

I hope everyone was sure that was her nanny? did the little girl act like she knew her? Just the "come, come little girl" part would scare me and I would make sure that it was her nanny. But I wonder where she was for 45 minutes when everyone was looking for the nanny? That is horrible and they should have still called the cops and refused the give the child back. I know that probably was not feasable but at least then the parents could have found out about their nanny if they do not come here.
I felt the same way as 9:57. The "come , come to the little girl, that would make me nervous too. I was thinking, it could be a kidnapper. Why did everyone wait so long to call the police? If no one came by her side after five minutes I would call right away. I am not judging anyone, just stating my opinion. Just seems unbelievable to wait so long.
I would be horrified especially in NY. I would of asked her where was she for 45 minutes with the little girl left in the park alone! She was young so someone should of gotten the parents name and number from the nanny or the little girl. Surprised no one at the park didn't recongnized the little girl or nanny.
I disagree with your last comment. Most parents DO want qualified people who love their children. Unfortunately, it's not so easy to find one. There are plenty of disreputable agencies who market bad so called "professional" nannies out there who manage to squeeze past even the most rigorous screening process. I went through 3 "permanent" nannies when I finally found the wonderful nanny we now have. There are alot of good liars out there who put on a show for the interview and for the 30 minutes before you come home. Only way to really tell what is really going on is ask your children again and again, observe them closely for changes in behavior (because they may not tell you if something is wrong), show up unexpectedly during the day, ask neighbors, and spend the time to observe, observe, observe. Sad state of affairs when parents have to spy to make sure their "nannies" are actually caring for there children, and wonderful caring honest people like my current nanny have the same title as some of her awful uncaring dishonest predecessors. There should be licensing and regulations to keep the trash out of the profession and not allow parents to mistreat the true professionals by not paying and treating them fairly.

12:13 was this you? for you to tell the op to get a life because they were worried about a child left alone for 45 minutes is unrealistic. It could happen to a parent, yes, but this nanny is getting paid to watch the child. It is their job to know where the children are when they are on the clock and for 45 minutes this little girl was by herself. It is completely unacceptable and would be even if it were the parent's who lost the little girl. But this is definitely a legit post, yours is not. I also wonder when the little girl was screaming and crying walking around if the nanny was hiding. It doesn't say the playground but you would think you would hear a child screaming and crying, especially since the nanny should not have been far away from the child.
I am shocked, bt perhaps shouldn't be, that people actually handed the little girl to this stranger, who AT BEST was a completely irresponsible and dishonest excuse for a caregiver, and let the child just walk off with her. I'd have called the police and had the nanny arrested for child endangerment the minute she reappeared. I'd bet anything she makes a habit out of this and she'll continue to do so until she gets has to face consequences for it.
And to ignoranus (not a typo), illiterate a$$hole at 12:13, if it "happened" to parents, they should be arrested and sterilized and have thir children removed from their household. This doesn't just "happen", idiot slugs with sh*t for brains who have no business being allowed within 20 yards of a child, let alone the option of replicating themselves CHOOSE to make this "happen".

Congrats OP...another onlooker who couldnt wait to get home to put this online, yet did nothing to help the child. I would have called police.

OP, where did this happen? The fact that you have not provided any information on the location of the playground makes me quite skeptical. I am NOT saying that it is okay to leave a child unattended in a playground (or anywhere), but if this really did happen, you'd at least say where exactly it happened. Please please update your information.
OK, this sound completely made up. Of course if it wasn't this would be tragic on so many levels, but it sounds like BS, sorry.
