PSA

If you notice 'unexplained bruises' on your child, if your child is behaving strangely or if you've been warned about your nanny, the next course of action is NOT to go and purchase a nanny camera. It is absolutely unacceptable to leave your child alone in the care of someone you have been warned about or have suspicions about.

!!!

Parents should face endangerment charges.

Do you ever notice how no one reportingt hese stories ever suggests what parents SHOULD do? When I watched the story on the news last night, it seemed to me the reporter was almost congratulary to the parent.

I agree that the parents should face something too. I mean why after you notice your child is lethargic do you set up a nanny came and still leave your child with the nanny. The six month old is in the hospital and if the parents had not left her with the nanny after they noticed something maybe it wouldn't be as bad. I mean I understand the parents want evidence but a lot of people have gone to jail without video taped evidence and the parents could have done something.

Oh my god. I live so close to the area where this happened. I live in Fort Lee, the next town over. I didn't hear about this on the news.

Yes these stories are terrible. But if the parents just fire the person, the person can get a new job and the cycle repeats and more children are abused. Now these "nannies" - and I can't even use that word to describe these horrible people - are getting persecuted and put to jail. Yes it is horrible for the child, but the damage happened and it got stopped and the person got stopped.

Unpopular opinion to share, I know. But the nannycams prove without a doubt. Otherwise it is circumstancial evidence. Yes the parents made a horrible mistake should not have hired the person. But it happened. And now they are taking steps to stop it.

First thing, I think a family should automatically set a camera up from DAY ONE!!. Then everyday look at the tape. Not wait till they think somethings going on.
I personally know Saddle River is a very affluent town. I live in Bergen County as well. They could afford to have done this right away

If you continue to put your child in potential danger, even to try to catch nanny in the act, you are as much to blame when something terrible happens to your child. My kids are my world....I even remotely suspect something is not right with the care they are getting, that person is gone.

I don't get the parents who recorded their son being molested.

They recorded it four times???

Why didn't they call the cops and fire her the FIRST time? Why let it happen 3 more times?

Aunty Rhea: I know what you mean. I am 2:43 also and I was horrified at the parents when I read this. The parents whose Nanny was hurting their six month old made me sick. This baby was hurt with the most severity AFTER they let it happen again in order to tape it. These parents need to be put away same as the nannies. Disgusting!

Thanks Jane-
where is the outrage in the mainstream media? Let's hear it.
I get bitching at nannies who are sleeping on benches or verbally abusing the children in their care.

I think it is far worse for a parent to know their child is in danger and just leave them in danger. It's sick.

And notice that none of these nannies fit the bill of "professional nannies". Immigration is involved because the one in the case yesterday in NJ was an illegal. Well hello parents- STOP EMPLOYING ILLEGALS.

I hope the parents get fined big time and face charges. In every case. This needs to end now!

Do people like 525 really exist?

3:57 PM, You are so right!
I remember when the second item was in the news. The "nanny" had been in the country less than three months, and had no references. (It turned out she had worked briefly for another family and been fired.)
Case after horrible case comes up on the news, and yet the parents criteria for hiring in the first place is never discussed.

Jaquawn knows many people who are going through IVF and the adoption process. Jaquawn thinks that when parents cannot take the appropriate measures to ensure their children's safety, such parents should immediately and permanently use parental custody.
