I am a full-time legal British nanny and I love my two babies (3yrs and 2 mths) with all my heart. Go and look at the Palisades Park and you will see exactly what goes on. These 'nannies' set up their blankets, drinks, etc and keep the kids in their strollers(???) whilst they gab. I was at the park for two hours last week, and I was really quite surprised as to what I saw them doing. The kids never got to go near the playground!!!

I have something to say. I work for a wealthy couple. I take care of their two children. They pay me well. Time off is not something I get. I have to travel with them. Even on holidays, they would rather pay me triple than have me "off". Most of the time I do work. I promise you the children are well taken care of. Not because I make a great salary but because I truly love them. When the mother calls me from work, do you think it is because she wants to know how the first day of preschool went? No, she wants to know if the banquet tables arrived for her cocktail party or if her Blahniks arrived. She never asks about the children. This gives me every opportunity to do whatever I want with the children-because there are no rules about the children. She doesn't care. My point is, most nannies don't fall so deeply in love with "their" children as I have. I try to make the best decisions I can for the children. But many nannies do work for the same kind of non parents as I do. And why would they take the children out of the strollers? Do you think the parents really care? I am telling you, most do not. There is something in the UES water because the mothers seem to be all missing a basic evolutionary gene; the same gene that wild worses and giraffes have.
What the hell difference does it make? Their mothers will do eexactly the same thing. Drag teh kids aroudn to their frieds hosues, gabbing and carrying on. the only difference is that their mothers somehow figure they deserve half of the father's income upon divorce because of the Great Sacrifices they made for The Chidren.
At least a father can fire an incompetent, abusive or indifferent nanny. He is stuck with the female the spawned his children for years.
