Teaching Tool Kit

OPINION
Anyone familar with the 'Teach my Baby' learning system/kit? My MB just ordered it and wants me to start using it with my charge when it comes in. Just wanted to see if anyone here has had good or bad experiences with it!

I'm not familiar with that specific one but in my experience and based off everything I've learned, your MB just wasted a colossal amount of money. If it was me, I would refuse to teach it to the baby or I would completely half-ass it. Babies cannot be "taught" things, they have to learn by experiencing life naturally.

Don't know of this kit, but I tend to agree with Mannah in that the best way for baby to learn is by exposure and their daily environment.
In my experience kits= ripoff.

If you're doing all you need to do as a good infant nanny there shouldn't be a need for a special kit.

I'd also be concerned that MB may have unrealistic expectations for you and your charge.

No guys I should have been more specific. I'm actually supportive of trying it out. I have 2 degrees-one in early childhood education and one in child development and I know that the best way for babies to learn is for them to experience the world around them and introduce them to new places and things and all of that. I do it daily...we have lots of fun together and he is very stimulated and had already picked up on so many things. He's a smart little cookie. I've looked into the Teach my Baby system that she ordered and it's not like that 'My Baby Can Read' and other BS that I see on the market. That stuff doesn't work and I actually took a class in college based on the baby reading programs and how pointless they are. This system is just made up of things like touch and feel cards, board books, finger puppets that go with the books, puzzles, etc. Very hands-on and nothing like the reading systems where they watch silly videos and what not. I've researched it and it seems like a pretty good kit even though I agree learning kits for babies are typically just a waste of money and a total gimmick. I really have done my research and I know enough about the way babies develop to know that this actually could be great for him. I just wondered if anyone had heard of that particular one. And Susannah, she definitely doesn't have high expectations...we had a conversation recently about how i missed being in the classroom and she thought that might be a fun way to incorporate my teaching skills into my daily life with baby.
I do appreciate both of your feedback though...I should have provided more background to start with!! But thank you!

Thanks for coming back and giving us some more info and I apologize for jumping to the wrong conclusion. I just now looked up "teach my baby" (which I suppose I should have done from the beginning) and it looks ok. It seems to be just puzzles and board books, which I agree all babies should have access to. I doubt the system will teach the baby too much but it will probably be fun for you to play with it with your charge. And the one I looked up only cost $15 so at least it wasn't $100s like "Your baby can read" and other ripoffs like that. After you use it with your charge, why not come back here and let us know what you thought of it?

**I should have said it won't teach the baby anything he or she wouldn't have learned otherwise. Babies are constantly learning, with or without special materials.

She bought the whole system for like 50 dollars and it includes each part that you could also buy separately for 15 so it was reasonable. I will absolutely let you know how it goes!!

Ok so I went to take a peek at it.

I still think it's a waste of money only because it's probably things she has about the house or could easily be purchased at a far lower rate.
But, it's not as bad as some of the other stuff back there.

I would like to know how it works out for you and your charge. I'm sure I'll come across it at some point.

I used it with my charges starting at the recommended six months. They really like the body parts nesting boxes, but other than that they weren't very interested. Im sure it depends on the child though. Good luck
