Carl Schurz Playground on East End Ave - Manhattan, NY

bad nanny sighting I seen a nanny yesterday at the park that was right bad. She was being real snotty to the child. She had a back scratcher that she was using to scratch down her back on the inside of the shirt. She used that to smack the kid on the bloody upper arm like three different times and three smacks each time. When the chuffin child cried, right she said "shut yourself". The baby wanted to get out of it's stroller and play. She didn't want to do anything but sit there scratching her back and talking to another nanny who had a young child in a stroller. This was about 1130 AM at Carl Schurz playground on East End Ave. The bloody nanny was Jamaican and gruff sounding. She was wearing a red t-shirt with m&m's on it and black shorts that went to her knees. The boy was about two and half years old and had curly red hair and wearing brown hiking style tennis shoes. The stroller was blue and black with a stripe print on the fabric.

This was probably one of the weirdest posts I have ever read.

This is a valid bad nanny sighting. The woman was hitting the child!

The OP uses some expressions that aren't familiar to some Americans: bloody, chuffin etc. I'm guessing British? Anyway, she took the time to post because she was concerned about the way a child was being treated, which is what we should all be concerned about, not her writing.

I agree the grammar made this post difficult at best to comprehend.

But this poor child may be at risk for being abused so we should all look past the grammatical mistakes and focus on the abuse that clearly is going on.

This is a valid sighting. Thanks to the OP for reporting it. Next time before you go and criticize an OP's grammar, take a second to consider that English is not everyone's first language.

OP is British. I'm betting English is her first language.

This post is valid. It is also weird and creepy.

As both an American and UK citizen, I knew the OP's origins. I also saw that the sighting is in Manhattan. One would assume that a Brit living in America would drop the slang the Americans would be unfamiliar with, unless she is looking for attention or is just a chav...one in the same, really.

Also, it isn't an English thing to say 'I seen'. It is an ignorant person thing.
