Feature:
1) Nanny for Triplets (Malibu)
I am the mother of three identical girls; Aubrey, Layla and Maggie.
The girls are 3 going on 35 and love every part about being girls. They love fashion, being girly, wearing dresses, the color pink, princesses and being with each other. The main reason for a nanny right now is that I want the girls isolated, bonding with each other so they grow up relying on each other for things. I want them to grow up with great relationships and know how much family means.
They will not be allowed to do play-dates with other children; how people raise their children these days is disrespectful. I have friends with children the same age and will set up any playdates and I will be there to over-see the play-date. You will not participate in this.
The schedule below will give you an idea of your schedule:
Monday-Thursday
5-8 - You will prepare their oatmeal with fresh fruit, wake them up and strip their beds and throw it into the laundry, after breakfast is over their pajamas are to go with them. At 7 you are to wake them up and feed them, at 8 you will dress them alike (including hair, and shoes/socks.) and clean up the breakfast items. You will also start the first load of laundry while they are getting their shoes on.)
8-11:30 - Anything in this time frame has to be pre-approved with me on Monday every week and written on our schedule. I like to know where my children are at all times and what they are doing.
Lunch out is never acceptable.
12-1 - You will feed them healthy meals and switch the laundry if you haven't already done so.
1:30 -2 - Naptime is taken in the naptime room (since their bedding is in the wash.) They have nap cots that are in an empty room that is normally used for time-outs. The cots pull down and they each have an extra set of nap-time comfort items. They are not to be near each other, shades pulled and turn on their naptime cd. They will nap for 2 hours usually.
2:30-4:30 While the kids are napping you will need to make their beds up, put away their pajamas and start ay other laundry that needs cleaning, sweep floors, clean up any dishes or sippy cups etc.
5-6 This window is pool time. If you do not feel comfortable watching three children by a pool, need not apply. They have been taking lessons since they were 8 months old and all know how to swim and are fearless around water however I need you to be 110% attentive and not sun bathing or on your cell phone. These are my children, not a pet.
6-7 You are to give the girls their baths; bubble baths, matching pajamas, clothes go into hamper. Aubrey wears pull-ups.
7-8 You are to prepare their dinner at this time, I will usually put something together for you so you just have to turn on the crock pot and throw it all in there in the morning while they are eating. If i haven't, find something in the fridge.
8-9:30 is teeth brushing, stories read, and toys put away. Girls are to help with this, you are not to do it for them. They are to be in bed, lights out and music on by 9 pm. by 9:30 they should all be asleep if not you will need to step in and re-calm them down. (minimal talking.)
from 10-11:30 you will clean the home, put away dinner, start the dishwasher and run a load of towels from the baths earlier, bath mats, washcloths included. Water toys are put away, bathrooms cleaned and toothbrushes are to be sterilized with the ionizers.
I will arrive home each night before midnight and you will be free to go to your guesthouse to get some much needed sleep.
Your hours, if they weren't clear, are 5 am to 12 am but on a rare occurance I will be home around 9 or 10 but you will still put the girls to bed.
You will be staying in a large pool house off our pool, it is a full service guesthouse with your own living room, bathroom and bedroom. All utilities are paid, you will have WIFI (with an ipad if you do not have a computer of your own.), air conditioning, a flat screen hdtv, blu-ray player your own library of dvd's to choose from and a queen bed made from memory foam for a good nights sleep.
Your days of work are monday through friday and every other saturday; which will be spent with myself and the girls. I am a single mother and need extra hands.
Your compensation is airfare when you travel home for vacations, I will transport your vehicle out for you and fly you out for an interview. I will pay your cellphone bill and all utilities. I will not be paying a weekly salary but you will not have to buy toilitries, etc. Each month, given you have given a good performance I will give you a bonus towards clothing, or spending money. This job is ideal for someone retired, or someone who just wants to live the high life.
I work in the entertainment industry and will not tolerate any 'fan' behavior. I need you to respect my privacy, keep my girls safe and do a good job.

4) Need last minute Childcare for Saturday (Norfolk)
I am in need of last minute childcare for Tomorrow (Saturday). I am a home organizer and I have a client tomorrow in Williamsburg (I would prefer a sitter in the area...so if anything happens I can be close by). My normal sitter is not available. I can't believe that this women is going to leave her child with someone she "has a phone interview with". I wouldn't leave my dog with someone I had never met, much less my child. Don't people read the papers anymore and see all of the abductions and cases of children who disappear? Not every ad on Craigslist is legitimate and who knows what the intentions are of the person at the other end? I gave up a great career to stay home with my child, because I wanted to be the one there to ensure her safety. Please folks, put the welfare and safety of your children as your first priority, they cannot be replaced. If you need a sitter, arrange to have an emergency back-up provider who is willing to take your child in case of emergencies. Meet with the potential sitter fact-to-face several times, obtain verifiable references, call the references and asked to see pertinent paperwork relating to licenses, CPR and first aid certification. Keep your child safe....

21) Childcare NEEDED in MY home (Norfolk)
We are looking for childcare for @ least 3 days a week right now Wed.-Fri. Husband is military and I am a nurse doing pediatric homehealth care. I may sometimes get a call needing me to pick up a shift so we would need someone that is flexable. I have 2 that go to school, and then a 16 month old I need the day care for. My husband would get my boys to school Wed, and Friday, but thursday they would need a walk or ride to the school that is right up the street, you can walk there in less then 6 min. My husband gets them from school all 3 days unless he has a duty day but we would know in advance about that so it wouldn't be a surprise. We have a GREAT sitter now that takes them to parks, zoo, and much more but she has to leave us in May to go back to school. I don't mind if someone has a child they would like to bring with them as long as there is fairness among children. We are paying right now for 3 days 6-8 hours for 1 child: $100 and I feel that is good knowing I see a lot of childcare ads only asking $100 for a 5 day/week. I have had some people not respond back when they get the pay amount. I am putting in here now so I only get a response from someone that really loves the children and NOT just the money, I want to know my children are happy not just put in front of a tv for someone to make money. During the summer it would be for all 3 children ages 9, 6 and the 16 month old again 3 days a week 6-8 ours a day we would pay $160. If additional days are needed we of course will figure that in. ONLY reply if you are serious and you LOVE children and we can totaly depend on you and know our children are safe, not ignored, (believe it or not I had a sitter that did not change them or feed them and then got mad when I didn't pay her) yea so you can see why I am very strict about my childcare.

Please don't take this wrong when you read this...I am not out to insult you or belittle how much you can pay...
Maybe it is because I am originally from Northern VA where everything costs more, but the rates people want to pay here for childcare is kinda sad. While for me it is not just about money, (I have been in childcare almost my whole life-mom owns a center) even you have to admit that when you break it down, $160/5 days for 3 kids is not fair. That breaks down to $32 a day (for 6-8 hours). Now you also want the provider to use her own vehicle to take your kids places, without any reimbursement for gas or anything, correct? So by the time this is all said and done, she makes about $100-120 that week, roughly. How would you feel if your boss said I think your work is only worth $32 a day? You couldn't survive! I understand completely why teachers in the school system get insulted by their pay too. They spend all day trying to teach "our future" to be successful, all night grading their papers and then get pay cuts or no raises, and are still expected to do more than what their pay reflects. Also remember, in many cases, due to the amount of time that you need care for, the caregiver may not be able to find another job to work around the schedule. So they have no opportunity to make more money elsewhere, unless they wait tables or something else that can be done on nights and weekends. The caregiver is already tired from a busy day. Now she has to work nights too? That's a tough expectation.
Like I said, while it shouldn't be just about money, consider that you are asking someone to pay bills on this amount you're paying. Personally, I charge $9/hr for 1 child, $11/hr for 2-3 and $15 for 4+ for what I do because
1. I have to survive in order to care for your child(ren),
2. Somehow I still have to pay my own insurance if I have to go to the hospital (rarely are you gong to get benefits from the family).
3. I am really good at what I do. I worked privately for a family before I went to college.
4. You want to see your children grown and develop educationally and socially and so do I. We read together, I tutor, do art projects, we are active!!!
5. I do take the children places and make sure that they are getting the best out of private care. That could be the library, the zoo, the pool, children's museums...and more (and yes the parents pay for the trips that cost entrance fees, but it is planned well in advanced)
All I am saying is that some parents don't consider all the angles that the providers have to cover for the work they do. Does this put it into perspective for you? I don't think I am over charging in the least, either. To me the definition of a good caregiver is to be an extension of the family. If that is what you are looking for, then consider how you would treat your family. Does this help give you an understanding? I tried not to be rude or insulting. If that is not something you can afford, then talk to the caregiver and ask them what kind of services they actually provide and get them to justify their prices, as I have. Like I said, if money is an issue, then it is what it is. Just consider how much you would want to be paid for such hard work. People make more money sitting at a desk as a receptionist, and that is extremely unbalanced and unfair if you ask me!

I take home $75 a week. I have a 4yr old and a 2 yr old. I can't take them to a daycare center where they charge 9/hr, cause I only make 8.50 before taxes. So no, I don't see how childcare providers get away with taking pretty much all of a person's paycheck for watching two kids run around. O wait, that's $85 a week PER KID. So how am I supposed to make money to go to school, so that I can make great money. At which time I will gladly pay $85 a week, So I'm stuck with asking my friend to watch my kid, and when I come home she's playing on her computer, the house is trashed, my daughter is still in panties in bed, and my son's pull up is soaked. All because I can't afford a responsible person to look after them. Please, tell me how that's fair.

Listen, if you're providing care for more than 15 hours a week (or 20% of their time), you are LEGALLY REQUIRED to receive minimum wage.
i.e 100/wk for 24 hours is not acceptable (186/wk for 24 hours is acceptable)....the care provider can sue the employer for numerous tort violations and at least get back the difference in wages (for up to 2 years)
YOU ALSO MUST PAY SOCIAL SECURITY TAXES FOR YOUR CARE PROVIDER!!!

I have to agree with the postings...charging $85 a week for two kids is NOT enough money. I'm not bashing parents who can't afford it but as a parent, you have to do what you have to do. If that means, swallowing your pride and going down to social services to get help (tanf, food, childcare help, medicaid), then DO IT! Also, if you have to take a part time job or something, then do it. You get what you pay for. If you're paying for cheap daycare, then you are going to get cheap care. A provider who does what she is supposed to has to come out of pocket for alot of expenses and then has to pay her own bills and take care of her own family. Alot of parents seem to want sympathy because they are single parents or can't afford much...which is understandable but think about the provider who has her own bills, too, so if you can't afford to pay her much then what in the world is she supposed to do?
Parents want you to feed their children, potty train their children, take their children on field trips, have them do arts & crafts, change their children...well that's what a provider is supposed to be doing but you need to pay her for it because all that stuff costs money!!!!
You get what you pay for and if you can't afford childcare then maybe take on another job....
