I'm looking for a very part time babysitter to develop a friendship and working relationship with my son which could possibly develop into more long term, more full time childcare employment. Initially this will be 1-2 hours per week during the late afternoon or evening hours during the week or on weekends. This position is ideal for an individual looking to advance in a career working with Special Needs children.
My son is 8 yrs old and is verbal and very bright and sweet and engaging and helpful. The challenge is to help him manage his frustration which comes up suddenly and often without warning. He manifests this in aggressive outbursts which include hitting, throwing, kicking, biting, spitting, etc. Working with him requires knowledge of or willingness to use safe restraining holds as well as using sensory input to redirect/refocus him. We use Collaborative Problem Solving and you would need to learn this method if you are not familiar with it. He has 2 younger sisters so care could take place in the home but likely would be an outing away from home (any expenses would be covered).
His interests are Pokemon, Legos, graphics manipulation in MS Paint, learning new skills by watching tutorials online, imaginary battles and warrior play. He would like to get more involved in sports and music but has not been able to master teamwork and taking turns and sticking to instructions. He would also like to work on riding a bicycle and playing soccer.
We live right on the south end of Bothell so are just a mile or two away from Kirkland, Woodinville, and Kenmore. The closest bus stop is .75 miles. At this time pay would be cash but possibly, if you are working or planning to get certifications and I am able to get funded, you would be paid through the appropriate agencies in the future. Need a Nanny/house keeper for part time long term gig. Aprox hours are Mon, Tue, Thurs, from noon till 7pm, friday from noon till ten but hours may vary depending on need, to more or less. Will be above 25 a week, but under 40 a week.
Responsibilitys include: Daily house keeping, walking dogs 2-3 times, home schooling and occasional shopping and light cooking. Please be reliable, and responisble. You will essentialy be responsible for my kids education, something I dont take litely. So be responsible.

You would be required to provide the following support for the teens:
~ On-call support at night;
~Assist in the mornings before school for 2 hours; Once the kids are in school, you will be on-call until 2pm.
~There are some scheduled tasks throughout the week associated with upkeep/management of the home and children's needs and housekeeping. These are typically accomplished during the weekdays, and require perhaps 4-5 hours per week, maximum.
~1 weekend per month (a parent is present, and you provide interactive support)
~On-call during school days. (The kids are very healthy; they rarely miss school. As long as you stay in the area- -within 15 minutes - you can come and go during the day as you wish)
~Home maintenance and yard work
~One weekend per month, you will work during the day Saturday & Sunday, and be here on-call at night. I am here with the kids, too, and simply need support.
~One weekend per month you are on-call Saturday Noon-5pm . The other two weekends per month you are off from Friday at 2pm - Sunday at 4pm.
During the summer - The two assistants who live out both work full-time. You will work more, managing activities & schedules, etc. Summer is a busier time, but with the two full-time staff; it is more than manageable for an organized person. I am here most days, working from home (and available if really needed) during weekdays.
We are a loving, warm, busy, household, and I am a single mom who cannot manage all of the tasks associated with a big home, yard, kids, work, etc.
Our home is large; you would have your own bedroom, as well as access to the home as any family member would, which includes a home gym, large screen TV, wireless high-speed internet and computer, laundry room and kitchen access, etc.
We live very close to malls, restaurants, community college, and we are a 5 minute walk to a VRE train station (but we are NOT near a Metro). We have ample parking if you have your own car, but we do not provide a car for your personal use, ONLY for use during job-related tasks.
The job pays $44,000 per year. You pay no rent. I ask for $300 monthly to assist with utilities, cable, Internet, etc.
