7) Reduced rent for Female College Student or Female with PT job (Dallas)
Approximately 14 hours per week or less. T,W,Th, F...occasional Mondays. (I work a 4 day work week) Also posted in housing section, but I think this also fits under part-time childcare. Thanks to all that have responded, but we are still looking for the right person....no couples, must be kid friendly and would prefer a little experience with kids...i.e. did babysitting during high school, had younger siblings etc.
Reduced rent for help with 6 & 13 year old....approximately 14 hours per week or less. Individual will need to make sure they eat breakfast (instant oatmeal or cereal), get to school on time, take/pick kids up from school...the schools are within walking distance, but will need transportation during bad weather, and make sure that homework gets done immediately after school. You will be responsible for kids during school holidays unless this interferes with your school or work. We are very flexible with required time and often take the holidays off with them and can work around your schedule. The children are self-sufficient so actual hands on time will be minimal. Your responsibility will primarily be with the 6 year old....as with any 13 year old, the older one spends most free time with friends.
The room will include a shared bath for a rate of $275 per month with utilities included. Food and toiletries are not included. We are located on Eldorado between Preston and Coit...minutes away from 121, 380, DNT, McKinney, Little Elm, Plano, and Allen. No pets, smoking outside only, no alcohol or drugs, no overnight guest, a background check is a must...must be employed or college student (able to pay rent). We prefer a college student, but are open to other situations... i.e. a female with a job that allows them to work around before and after school care. Some things may be negotiable so email me...we've posted before and received a lot of response.. just haven’t found the right person.
This is not a nanny position and once we are home, your time is your time. I am home before or by 6:00 pm. The weekends belong to you. We are dedicated to our kids and will not ask you to keep them while we run errands or go out. You will not be expected to take them anywhere other than to and from school. * I actually prefer that they not travel with you on your personal outings. You will not be required to clean after anyone but yourself.. i.e no housekeeping. No food preparation other than snacks. Drama free home, ideal for a student wanting a safe family environment. For more specific details, please let me know.

12) Seeking live in Nanny for our one child (Florida)
Seeking a live-in nanny. We are looking for someone that would be available anytime day or night when needed. Unless it's an emergency, it likely wouldn't be an on-call position. We would work out a schedule so that you can have ample time to yourself and we can go about our daily lives without having to put our precious child in daycare. We are a married couple but we do sleep separately (he snores something terrible), you must be comfortable living with a male adult, however flirting with him or going in his bedroom at any time for any reason is not permitted.
Applicants must be at least 23 years of age (preferably much older), have cpr-first aid certifications (received or renewed within 30 days), and have a license with a clean driving record as well as a car of their own. At least 5 years of childcare experience with all ages, especially infants and at least 3 fantastic verifiable (non-family) references are a must. Background checks will be done prior to being hired. We require random drug tests as well!
We don't tolerate someone who uses physical punishment to reprimand a child, so if you are someone who believes in physical punishment please do not apply. We will have cameras installed to make sure my child is not harmed or abused in any way. Also, please don't apply if you're just someone looking for a place to live, we're serious about our child's care and you should be too! This is a long term position for the right person.
Must be: Mature, honest, responsible, dependable, non smoker, non drinker, no drugs, no criminal history, no pending charges, NO THIEVES!
As a live-in nanny, part of your compensation is the room and board we provide, however there will be a flat rate pay depending on your experience. You will have your own furnished room which you can feel free to bring your own personal items to make your room feel like home. Feel free to use our TV, fridge, stove, game systems and home as if it were your own, but please don't be a slob! Do not leave food, wrappers, drinks or candy laying out or in your room for extended periods of time and do not leave dirty dishes in the sink or empty containers in the fridge (we REALLY don't want bugs!). Occasionally we will ask you to take our child on an outing somewhere, when that occurs, we will pay for gas as well as whatever expenses come up. You should be able to follow directions flawlessly and not have any problems running an errand or two while out with our child when asked.
As you can see, we are very particular when it comes to the care of our child and we don't have time or patience for anyone that is argumentative, doesn't follow instructions or has a bad/negative attitude. We'd like someone bubbly, outgoing, kind, considerate, warm hearted, someone that takes initiative and is child loving. Must love disney as we do visit often and we do have a bit of a disney themed home. Must be willing to travel with us when necessary. We plan on having more children eventually and the applicant should be alright with that and ready to take on another child when that does occur. Not saying that would be anytime terribly soon, but it's a possibility in the future.
If we haven't lost you by this point, please e-mail your resume, cover letter and answer the following questions:
Why should we hire you?
Why does this appeal to you?
What are your goals in life?
What's a bad habit you have?
What allergies, if any, do you have?
What influenced you to go into caring for other people's children?
What are any potential problems that we might encounter with you?
Thank you, we look forward to working with the right applicant soon!

13) Childcare needed ASAP (Dallas)
I am mother of 9 week old twins and I am starting back to work TOMORROW!! I am in need of RELIABLE, EXPERIENCED and AFFORDABLE childcare for both babies. The hours I am working will be from 9-3 Monday-Friday and I may not need care every day of the week. On the days that my fiance is home, the babies will stay with him. I will provide all diapers and formula and will be dropping them off and picking them up. I don't have a lot of money to spend on childcare at the moment since I am just returning to work. I am not looking for FREE services, just someone that will be reasonable and work with me. If I could afford a day care, I would take them there. I am in the process of getting approved for the childcare assistance program, so if you accept that, that would be even better. I am willing to come and meet today to see if we are all a match. I would prefer someone that has experience dealing with more than one baby at a time as it can be challenging with multiple. Thank You and I hope to hear from you!!!

14) Flexible PT nanny/sitter for 18mo (Madison)
***I edited this post and title to clarify, though I think the term "childcare provider" best sums up what I am looking for, some might see it as more of a nanny or sitter role. I want someone who will become well acquainted and comfortable with our family and my son, and who will come to our home, or to other locations with me and my son, to provide care in a one on one fashion. So, no daycares please, we use part-time daycare already two days a week for school. I am only seeking flexible, one-on-one, in *my home* care for my child. Thanks!!!***
Hi there! I am a single mama and UW student, parent to an outgoing, creative, curious, and energetic 18, almost 19, month old child, Braeden. He loves rhythm and music, books, anything he can push or ride on (steering wheels, wheels, anything that "goes" :) climbing any and everything in sight, being in the water/pool, playing hide and seek/peek-a-boo, helping clean up/putting things in their proper place (yes, this can come in handy, but he makes just as many messes as he cleans lol if not more) and interacting with the people around him, and generally being a sweetie and exploring the world. He is very mobile and loves to walk/run/climb, though also enjoys a stroller ride and enjoys being held, cuddled, and carried in the Ergo carrier/sling if in the right mood. He has occasional tantrums but is pretty laid back for a child his age, but he also knows what he wants and will make his needs known. He says about 10-15 words, and a wee bit of signing, and gestures.
SUMMARY-- Need:
-Next 6-7 weeks- need care for up to 9 hours either Sat or Sun depending on weather each weekend to finish my training in my outdoor sport/discipline, which will pretty much end with the season Nov. 1st. Care can occur either at our home location without me present, or you can ride along in the car (nearly two hours each way, hence the long hours total if 'sitting at my place) and could study on the way there, read, whatever, and then be responsible for caring for him at the facility though I will also be around, will mostly be focusing on my progression. Friends have done this in the past, and he does well there and has a lot of fun, and there is a kitchen as well as an air conditioned/heated lounge room to nap/decompress/play, as well as plenty of open fields for romping, stroller rides, playing ball, etc.
-Also need some weekday evening care, maybe an average of one evening per school week, and then one weekend evening per weekend. For this month and next, hours would be totalling around 20 hours a week; after that when weekend care is no longer needed as much for this sport progression in my discipline, hours would more likely be 8-12 hours per week. I am willing to split the position, or separate the two and use a temporary situation for the rest of the season of my sport, and a separate care provider for evenings out and study time care.
Must have/be:
-Non-smoker/no tobacco use
-CPR/first aid for infants and children (if certification is expired I am willing to split the cost of re-certifying, and the position could start as long as this has been scheduled to occur in the near future).
----If you are only interested in the weekend daytime care (9 hour shifts, once a week most weeks for the next 6-7 weeks) and would accompany us out to East Troy where the facility is located, CPR/first aid is not necessary as we will be at a sports facility with many other people who could assist, and I would be present as well.
-Comfortable around pets, both cats and dogs (if providing in home care and not just applying to help out while I am finishing my training over the next couple months)
-Comfortable with "natural parenting" styles, such as extended breastfeeding (WHO guidelines min. of 2 years, which is what we are following), vegetarian and vegan diets (I would have all his meals and snacks easily available and/or already prepared or packed, so you would not have to do anything out of the ordinary to accommodate this), being a no-TV household, etc.
-Enjoys going outdoors, playing inside, and nurturing a child and exploring with them, and someone who understands the developmental needs of an 18-19 month old child
-FLEXIBILITY of schedule, and weekday evening and weekend availability
-Experience and references
Ideal but not 100% necessary:
-Own transportation/car, insurance, and safe driving record (can discuss getting a carseat in your car if we are both ok with this, so you could have the option to go to places not in walking distance, or if it is too cold to walk that day- that said, there are parks, fields, and a library within walking distance)
-A major or degree related to children and families (HDFS, elementary education, developmental psychology, etc.) or coursework related to such even if taken out of interest or to meet general requirements even if not your major, again would be ideal, but not required if you have childcare experience and a passion for working with children
Email me with your experiences, references, philosophies of childcare, education, questions or concerns, and availability, and let me know why you think this position would be a good fit for you! Thanks!
-------------------------------------------------------------
DETAILS:
I am seeking a childcare provider who loves working with kids and makes them their sole and primary focus during their time together. Someone who is okay with an environment that is tv-free and not dependent on talking toys, interactive gadgets, etc. in caring for a child of this age. Someone who enjoys doing fun free-play, story time, outdoor activities (park, stroller ride, romping and running), and crafts (to the extent that age group can do crafts :) Perhaps outings to the park, a kid-friendly cafe like Bean Spouts or ZuZu, the MCM/childrens' museum, Madtown Twisters open gym, organized story times, a playdate? If you have a car and proof of insurance and driving record, that would be great, and we can discuss getting and installing a rear-facing convertible or toddler carseat for him if you are comfortable with this, so that you can take B out to these types of activities (of course I would reimburse gas and expenses for outings), but I can also state that there are parks and fields as well as the library within walking distance.
I seek someone who will bring enthusiasm and nurturing to my child during their time together, who has somewhat of a flexible schedule. It is important to me that you have no major criminal convictions, are reliable and trustworthy, have experience with this age group and good references, and are able to go with the flow and meet my child where he is at, and work with me to create consistency. It is important to me that my childcare provider have Infant/Child CPR and First Aid. If you have them but have expired, you could start the position if you can just re-read the text so you feel comfortable with the procedure, as long as you have a date scheduled out to re-certify. If you have never been certified, the Red Cross offers this and I think anyone working with kids regularly should definitely have it; it will be an asset on your resume for other childcare work down the line as well. If this is the case, I am willing to split the cost of the certification with you, and again you could start as long as your certification is scheduled, and I will give you my book so in the interim you know the basics.
Basically, I am finishing up an outdoor sport that will, for the most part, end when the winter months come, so the active season in which time I would like to complete my proficiency license is through the end of next month. For the next six weeks or so, I am looking for someone who is willing to commit to one or both weekend days, weather dependent, for most (does not have to be ALL) of those upcoming weekends. The location is a long drive, so it would be a full day one weekend day a week, 8-9 hours. You could choose to ride along in the car with me and Braeden, and bring your own schoolwork or a book to read, music, etc. (of course you would also be paid for these hours) and then watch him at the indoor/outdoor sporting facility, where I am also available when not actively training to nurse (yes I still breastfeed occasionally and plan to go at least 2 years as recommended by WHO). Alternately, you could spend the day with him in our space in Middleton/Madison (this month we have a two BR apartment in Middleton, where you would provide care; next month and beyond, we will be saving on rent by renting out the lower level of my parents' house on the west side of Madison- it is private and shut off somewhat, with immediate access to a main room, bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room- though beyond basic immediate clean-up, I would not expect any housework or laundry, I prefer my sitter be completely prioritizing my son than worrying about having to multi-task).
In addition to the next six or so weekends' help in completing my license in my sport, discipline, I am also looking for a "babysitter," which, other than very close family and friends, and a UW daycare center we use, I have not yet hired or utilized, and the time seems to have come :) I am interested in potentially discussing a weekday evening "regular" or weekly shift, say a four hour shift on Thursday or Friday evening, one day per week (I know Fridays can be tough, could also alternate every other, or alternate Thurs/Fri- this could start now or after the long weekend hour assistance is no longer needed. However, for the second half of the semester (Nov/Dec) I will still want someone who can be available with advance notice for occasional weekend day-times and/or evenings for childcare for my son for things like dates if I choose to start dating at some point, or girls' nights out (been awhile!), concerts, study time for exams, or just getting out to a lecture or presentation of interest, etc. While I love incorporating my son into everything I do, there are also times where it would be ideal to have the flexibility of a childcare provider who he can get to know and trust, who loves him and cares for him, so that I can attend less child-friendly events and make sure I get everything done that I need to get done without worry or constraint.
I would again ideally want you to have a car, though am willing to discuss if we need to pick you up and drop you off, and/or if you would use the Metro bus system. I am looking for someone who does not believe in physical punishment, and knows that only naturally occurring consequences, with gentle verbal and physical re-directing of activity as needed, is developmentally appropriate for a one and a half year old, and someone who understands attachment theory and will respect my approach to parenting as naturally as possible. Ideal for someone who works in childcare/preschool and needs extra evening and weekend hours, or a UW student with some flexibility in schedule, preferably either another HDFS major like me, a related field like developmental psych or elementary education, or someone who may have at least taken some coursework related to children and their development out of interest or to meet general reqs despite having an unrelated major.
I do utilize UW daycare, as a student myself, Mon. and Wed., so would not likely request or want care most of those days, since after a long day away, I will want to spend the rest of that time with my child. Tuesday evenings I have yoga class that I like to go to, and once I am at my folks' house I believe they are willing to watch him while I go to yoga, so that is why I say the most likely day for a regular or semi-regular weekday care would be Thursday or Friday. If you are a student, I will certainly request a copy of your course schedule and understand that, for both of us, education comes first and we can work around your schedule as long as what I have described seems to be a reasonable fit with your needs and your schedule at this point. There may be a very rare time where, if you have a carseat in your car and something comes up, I may ask you to pick him up from daycare on a Monday or Wednesday at 5-5:15 pm and watch him for a couple hours then- if this is something that you would be able to do of course with your class schedule and transportation- but again I would give plenty of advance notice, and while I seek a flexible sitter and hope to offer compensation accordingly for the right person (or people-- if two people need to split this or be available at different times, I am open to hiring two sitters, if you would rather just say help short term with a guaranteed weekend shift each weekend/week through the end of next month, and then hire someone else for a weekday regular shift and/or for more flexible or sporadic care- let me know your thoughts)
It is important that you are at least tolerant of, and not afraid of, pets (black lab at my folks' house though she won't be around our space much) as well as two cats who will be/are both at my and my son's current Middleton apartment this month, and will also be around when we are renting out the bottom level of my parents' large west Madison home starting Oct. 1. It is also important to me that you have or are willing to get asap, Infant/Child CPR/First Aid, that you can pass a background check, and have references and experience.
A non-smoker is an absolute necessity, as I do not want my son around tobacco, even if you would not smoke while providing childcare, the chemicals that can get onto the skin and clothes of a smoker have proven harmful to young children with recent research, so it is very key that someone applying for the position does not smoke/use tobacco products. What you do outside of childcare (alcohol, marijuana, etc.) is not my business as long as I do not have a childcare provider showing up hung over or under the influence, and would expect someone working around children to be responsible and reliable in all aspects.
If you do not have this availability or meet the requirements please do not email, also please do not email me with regards to any advertisements or other services. Again, I am open to someone who is just seeking a temporary weekend position, or someone who does not have full weekend availability in the short term but would like to do a regular weekday shift and sporadic/as needed weekday evening or weekend childcare for my son. That said, precedence will be given if the right candidate is available who can do both, to minimize the transitions and keep stability for my son- but either way, he is very people oriented and I do not believe he would have a problem if two separate childcare providers were hired.
Please put "childcare for Braeden" in the subject line (lots of spam lately, so I don't want to miss an important email!) if you have read this and are interested.
If you have a formal style resume and references typed up, please feel free to send it as a Word attachment or copy/paste to the body of the email, but honestly I don't require a formal resume, I simply would like to hear in your own words who you are, what your childcare experience has been, and why you think this might be a good fit for you, as well as any questions you may have of me. Please also let me know your ideal number of hours per week, understanding that the next six weeks' will include very long weekend daytime shifts, which would provide more hours during the first half of the semester than the second half of the semester in all likelihood.
Ideally we would meet for a very informal interview and so you and Braeden could get acquainted and you could see the space and where things are, and then a shift or two where I am available to help or answer questions, sort of a trial run. It might be best, even if you planned to do the childcare completely at our home on weekends this next 6 or so weeks, to come out with me for the first shift (if you have never seen my sport before, I think you will find it interesting to watch as well!) so that we can make a smooth transition to me leaving and you providing childcare. (If you can't tell, I am quite a writer lol, so would likely type up something pretty comprehensive for you to refer to, as far as concerns or where things are located, in caring for B alone for the first time).
Anyways, depending on your education, references, and availability/flexibility, if you and Braeden get along well, I would offer payment of $12-15/hour, this same wage being paid for all hours you are with Braeden and/or Braeden and I, including the trial run/s if I am present or near-by/training time, and if you choose to ride along in the car and watch Braeden at the sports facility on weekends rather than watch him at our home environment (he's been out there all the time and tends to do well when I have had family and friends watch him in such context), thus having near four hours available to read/write and study for classes or exams if a student (I suppose that part though is contingent on if you are able to read/write in the car without getting carsick.. I can, but I know not everyone can) and then 4-6 hours of watching the kiddo there while I train.
Anyways, I hope this gives you more than enough information to see if this might be a good fit, I look forward to hearing from individuals who have the time and flexibility to either commit to the next six or seven weeks for weekend training in my sport/discipline, and/or someone who is willing to get to know Braeden over the semester or longer and be a regular sitter for our family as well. I look forward to having a mutually respectful relationship and want you to feel at home with our family, and feel free to ask any questions or bring up any concerns you may have-- I am big on open communication. I hope that the right person or people will see this ad and let me know if they have an interest!
Finally, if you are a fellow UW student parent, and want to discuss the option of a childcare swap i.e. if they are in the same age range, I could watch both kiddos for three or four hours one day a week, and you could do the same on a different day, or we could make it more flexible and just trade in hours instead of money, as needed. Obviously the longer weekend shifts and the ad posted might nt be conducive to a full on "childcare swap," but I am open to discussing this as I would love especially for Braeden to have a new playmate and friend (and mama too- I don't know many other single moms and/or student moms here)! Thanks again and I hope everyone is well! I hope to hear from you soon, take care! Robyn (and Braeden) Dahler

18) RE: Nanny needed for 3yo and 7yo (Seattle)
Are you serious?? NO WAY! I'm sorry but who in their right mind would apply for a whopping $1.82 per hour (55 hours a week) to come to your house and drive their own vehicle use their gas to drive your children around (probably without any type of reimbursement either) for that low of wage?? I'm sorry but this is illegal!!!! You are asking someone to work 15 hours of over time (of course, without any extra pay!) Posts like this just get to me! If you can't afford child care obtain help but don't come here asking people to feel sorry for you and accept pay that is illegal. This is not considered babysitting since it's on a regular basis so you must pay minim wage. Really, who is going to work for that low of a wage? I bet the job that you are going to in Seattle isn't paying $2.82 per hour. And really, it's not take care of one child all day long....there is before school and after school. Not to mention that school these days are always having days off due to teacher work days or holidays.

19) RE: Nanny needed for 3yo and 7yo (Seattle)
If you ARE lucky enough to find someone that cheap you had better do an intensive background check on them. Make sure they know that no drinking or drugs are allowed and get a drug test kit from a drug store. I have a nanny job from 7am-5:30 (Including before and after care for the older child) and I make $250 per week. Have you tried getting help from DSHS? You should at least provide money for gas every week, like an extra $20. What other things can you give up in order to afford to pay for childcare? Cigarrettes, alcohol, dinners out, going to the movie theater? URL: http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/kid/1958740976.html
20) RE: Nanny needed for 3yo and 7yo (you're joking, right?) (Seattle)
Thank God someone else said something. I probably read that add 3 times, because I couldn't believe what I was reading. NO WONDER I can't get a decent babysitting job because I would bet someone out there will take that. 5 hours of those 11 hour days are with 2 kids, whether it's the majority of the time or not. My time and sanity is worth a little more than 1.81 an hour. Gee I could probably get a minimum wage job AND pay decent childcare and still come home with more than that. I would at least feel better about myself. I hope really hope nobody takes that.

26) Child Care needed ASAP (Milwaukee)
I am in need of child care for my two boys ages 19 months and 6 years in the Waukesha area. I am currently working at a downtown clinic in Milwaukee from 10am to 6:30pm. My husband works in roofing and his hours vary and my be gone for days at a time or be home for days at a time. I am in need of care for the hours I work. I am looking for someone to watch the boys from 9:20am until I get home around 7pm, Mon-Thur and Friday from 7:45-6:15. My six year old is in school so he will need to be picked up from Heyer elementary after school (3:25pm). We are within walking distance from the school so you would be able to walk to get him as long as it is warm out and when the weather is not cooperative you will need reliable transportation. I plan to pay $200 per week / $40 per day.
There may be a few Saturdays I would also need a sitter, only about once per month or less. I am open to taking my children to your home as well as long as the hours and rate works for you. In addition, if you have children of your own, I am ok with you bringing them along as well :) although I do have a cat ...
If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please email me asap to set up an interview. I am looking to find someone quickly but please do have references ready. Feel free to email with any questions you may have or for additional information. *Spanish speaking a plus

27) Live-in Nanny wanted - Nov. 1 start (Florida)
I am looking for a mature, responsible individual to care for my almost 3-year old twins. Also, picking up and helping my 8-year old daughter with homework after school 2 days a week. I prefer someone with an education background that can not only enjoy my children and interact with them, but provide a learning environment in my home as well. This is a job, to be taken seriously, and I am only looking for dependable and committed individuals. The salary will be between $200 and $250 per week depending on your qualifications.
The hours needed are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Wednesday from 8:00am to 2:30pm, Friday from 8:00am-3:30pm, and 7-10 additional hours either on a weeknight and/or a weekend day or night.
First of all, you must be a neat and organized person! I can not stress this enough. I would also prefer it if you can cook (especially health-consciously). It is also a must that you are an open-minded, honest and communicative person. I believe in talking things out, as issues are bound to arise when living with someone. Oh, another must is to be a non-smoker! I also have 2 pugs and a cat, so you will have to be ok with pets.
I would like someone who is very affectionate with my kids, yet at the same times teaches them right and wrong and enforces boundaries in a healthy manner. I want my kids to love their nanny - not be their mom, but really feel that she loves them and visa versa.
I prefer someone over 25, as although I want you to feel a part of the family, I definitely do not need another child to take care of or 'deal with'.
I am a single gay woman, although most people would never guess that, as I live a basically straight, mom lifestyle. However, you would have to be comfortable with the fact that I hope to one day be in a relationship with a partner :-) Let me know if you think we might be a match!

29) RE: Full-Time Nanny in Stoughton (Madison)
For the pay you are offering, which is under $5 an hour, you may want to consider looking for a family daycare. Nannies earn a minimum of $10 starting pay....

30) RE: Nanny in Stoughton (Madison)
I have to agree with the poster that said you need to look for family childcare. At $225/week you are asking that a person make it on $900/month (and that is before they would also pay taxes). Your nanny could not even cover rent and utilities at that rate. I think you would have better luck finding an in home daycare or a stay at home mom who might want to watch your child. Good luck! Hope you find the right care for your daughter. :)
