4) Occasional Babysitter Needed (Seattle)
Hello....We have a 6 week old daughter whom we are seeking a sitter to care for her occasionally when we decide to go to dinner, a movie, or just have time to do something to where we would prefer to keep her at home. I do have three other children ages 10,9,7 every other week from a previous marriage however we normally refrain from doing stuff while we have them but may need someone once in a while to watch all the children (they are big helpers) :) I am only looking for someone who can come to my house to babysit. If you are interested after reading the information below please email me with your name, information (including phone number), your rates (not a negotiable or it doesn't matter, we all have a price please don't beat around the bush and just name it), and when you would be available to meet with us. My birthday is this weekend and we are aiming to find someone for Saturday however I would rather stay home then be uncomfortable leaving her with someone so we are seeking the perfect fit! (We also have quite a few friends seeking sitters that we would gladly recommend you to shall this work) :)
To even be considered you will:
Live in Tacoma or very close to it!
Have a cell phone of your own (and preferably with texting capabilities as this is our preferred method when were out and checking on her and do not want to interrupt other people in a movie or out to dinner) we do not have a land line at the house so this is non negotiable!
Have at very least 3 references.
No criminal history at all, this includes protection orders (anything listed as criminal in a check is a no go for us) we do not need nor desire the drama!
No medical history (nothing personal) no bi-polar, issues with lifting, I could go on and on but I am sure you get the drift, even with meds that is a chance we just do not wish to take!
Preferably CPR certified, however if you know how and are not certified that is negotiable.
Your own transportation to and from, the city bus would not work as there will be a time or two when we will want to go out (like Saturday) and I am sure the buses stop before we would get home, and we want to know shall something arise you are able to get her transported.
I do not care if you bring a laptop, and access our internet here at the house, we have full HD cable, we honestly are relatively laid back in an every day way, we just want to ensure that while you are here our little one is your FIRST priority and is well taken care of, outside of that you can sit and chat, watch tv, browse the net, however no house guests. Thanks for your time in advance for reading this and like I said if you are still interested please contact me with:
Your name (first and last)
Your rates (be honest and forward)
Are you CPR certified
Do you have a vehicle
What is your availability
When you could meet with us prior to sitting for us, this will be a 2 part deal, first in public with me and my daughter, then second at my home with my husband and I
Do you have a cell phone and if so do you know how to text (you would be amazed how many still don't)
What city you live in
Your references, I prefer calling references prior to meeting due to there being quite a few whack jobs in the world today!
We do intend to do a web based background check so if you have skeletons in your closet please do not even attempt to contact us!

10) WE NEED a budget-friendly nanny in Dublin (San Fransisco)
We live in DUBLIN and are looking for a nanny for our 3yr old boy and 1 yr old girl in our home. Would prefer live-in as my daughter is an early bird, about 6:30am but would also be open to other situations. Also open to a mother and child depending on age and gender. Live-in would share a room with my daughter as she needs the most care.

At least 4 days/wk. Mostly days with an occasional evening. NO SET SCHEDULE as our schedule is never the same day to day, but of course we will work with you to make it as routine as possible, the best I can estimate is a 6:30am start but your day may end at 10am or it may end at 7pm. We need someone very flexible! Would prefer someone who drives (we have an extra car). We can't pay much (at least in the beginning) since I'm not back to work yet. In other words we are on a TIGHT BUDGET. Please keep that in mind when replying.

If interested please e-mail with answers to the following:
Age?
Current position (if any), where currently living?
Want live-in or live-out? Suggestions for how that might work considering the hours we need
Desired pay range/daily rate?
What you are willing and not willing to do? i.e. cook for the kids? Laundry? Light housekeeping?
Any questions for me?

This will hopefully turn into a long-term position. We hope for someone who can feel like part of the family not an employee.

PLEASE NO FLAKES. Please don't waste my time or yours if you are not RELIABLE and RESPONSIBLE. I don't enjoy watching my children get to know someone who suddenly doesn't show up, doesn't call, etc. Thank you for considering us!

Hello! I am the mom of a three year old boy working at a restaurant that requires weekend availability. I am new to the area and dont have many friends or family to help me out. I work at 12 noon this Friday ( tomorrow ), Saturday and Sunday only until around 5 ( short days! ) and I am looking to pay around $25 dollars a day. Hopefully there is someone available!!! Thanks in advance for your response, I really appreciate the time!! 14) A Warning to Parents (Denver)
As a mom, I feel that I have to warn other parents on here looking for a provider to care for their newborn or infant. Please beware of anyone offering to watch your infant in their home for just $35-$40 a day part-time or $150 a week full-time, licensed or not. We have found that most people charging so little are not the type of people you should trust with your baby, regardless of what their "references" tell you. Most people offering this type of "inexpensive/affordable care" are desperate and need the income to pay their bills. Trust me, they are not doing it because they love doing it.

The stories I could share with you about our personal experience and of those some of our friends had with these type of providers would seriously make you think twice. More than once, we have found that our baby was left in their carseat for several hours, and in a dirty diaper, or not fed, because we were trying to save money. And just because a stay at home mom or someone that was previously a teacher or preschool worker now has a license, DOES NOT guarantee that they will provide quality care.

While I agree that a home environment while they are very young is much better than a large center, if you can afford a nanny or someone older with no children of their own in their care, and just 1 or 2 other babies that they care for, you will have a much better chance of finding someone who will provide quality care for your baby. Your baby can't tell you about their day.

I'm not trying to scare anyone, but feel I need to share this information. Just please be careful in your search. There really are some great providers on here. Meet them in person at their home and trust your gut. And remember, cheapest isn't always best. You really do get what you pay for. Isn't the safety and care of your baby worth a few more dollars a day?

28) Re: Live Out Nanny Needed (D.C.)
Do you realize that $300 a week for 45 hours (not 40 hours like you stated) is equilvalent to $6.67 an hour which is not even mininum wage? Working from 7am to 4pm is 9 hours a day. And you are not just looking for someone to watch your son, you also want them to do light housecleaning, laundry and cooking, all for $6.67 an hour. I just get bothered when parents want a good nanny, especially with the added responsibility of housework and can't pay the standard $10 an hour for one child. You could put your child in a home daycare for around $125-150 a week and then pay around $100-150 for a housekeeper to come once a week. Then you are paying $300 a week and you're not sticking the nanny with so much work for so little money. Parents, I get that not all of you can pay the standard $400-600 a week for full-time childcare, but if you want a nanny, you need to make sure you can afford it, and if you can't..then dont be lazy, get your children up in the morning and take them to daycare! If you want a nanny you need to be willing and able to pay for it. And I perfectly understand your situation because I have a close friend who struggling with paying for childcare herself and shes a single mother. But I get upset with people who want a nanny and can't afford it so they think it's okay to try and get a nanny anyways and pay so little for so much work. Go for what you can afford, because you get what you pay for and your children's health and safety is important and you dont want a nanny who will slack on the job because they are getting paid less than mininum wage! And I know I sound mad, but its just it sometimes feels like there are parents out there trying to take advantage. Again I get that not all of you can pay $400-600 for a full time nanny, but thats why there are daycares out there.
