This. Blog. sucks. All the good stuff has disappeared and the new owners are awful

Plus they only posted this because a commenter mentioned that they missed this feature on the old blog. UGH.

You are correct. We did post this because someone mentioned it! As for your "this blog sucks" remark, you don't have to be here so why are you? Just to spew hate? If that is the case, please leave. We apologize that the site has had nothing posted for several weeks, but we have had a close family member in the hospital. Not an excuse just a reason for no posts.

Very sorry to hear about the family member. However, there have been people since you took over the blog willing to help

Ten years ago, this blog was a happening place. Times have changed, new ownership, life. While the traffic isn't where it used to be, it's still fun, interesting and informative, the goals the original owner had.

That being said, you can have an opinion, but to say that the blog sucks and the new owners stink is rude and uncalled for. They are doing what they can to make this blog great again and have family issues going on which is not their fault.

Grow up.

Sadly I have to agree that this blog seems lazy now and is no longer very interesting to read. I keep checking back, hoping that it will return to its former glory, but find myself visiting less and less often, unfortunately.

There is a great community of nannies over at https://www.reddit.com/r/Nanny/ if anyone is looking for a place for sharing, ranting, or advice!

Anonymous comments are the scourge of the Internet, it allows people to speak opinions in non constructive ways.

I was gifted $200, about one days pay before taxes. I've only been with this family for 4 months and I was shocked and very pleased to be gifted anything. In years past when I have put in most of the year with a family I usually am given one weeks pay per year of service, highest was 3 weeks pay when I'd spent 3 years. That was very generous and frankly that sort of show at the end of a year is what helps me decide if I'm sticking around or ready to move on. I tend to change jobs as the children age out of my "zone", but a good bonus is a great motivator to hang around :-)

Yeah that was me. I miss the old site.

Only came back here for the Bonus feature - I really used to look forward to this, and it's so sad to realise how disappointing this site has become. Seems like all the great contributors have given up!

Hi, this is Leigh, the owner of the blog, the family member is me, I have been in the hospital for almost a month and my 2 assistants have been concentrating on the children and mothers in our nanny/catering business. It's just one of those things that could not be foreseen and it's still better to have the blog open for those who need it rather than closed or shut down or permanently disbanded. We are committed to keeping on, complaints or not. The internet changes from day to day, when we took over the blog, we were just coming off of an extended period where the site had been shut down largely because of negativity. We are not as awesome as the original owner, but we are committed - as are MANY fine and talented readers - here is to a NEW YEAR - I wish prosperity and safety to every person who reads these words AND your families!
