In the Spring; we like exploring alot outside. We have been cooped inside for most of winter and we are ready to go!! We like to visit farms, the zoo and explore nature trails to see all the wondeful new baby animals.
In the summer- we love the pool, friendly swimming areas- anywhere therthere is water!!

As soon as the temperature warms up, we spend most of our time outside playing in the yard and patio. We have a water table that we fill with water, bubbles, ice, etc, a big space for riding bikes, coloring with sidewalk chalk, etc, a play set and swings, an easel, a basketball hoop, and a play kitchen and house. Later during the summer we'll set up the kiddie pool. We love doing outdoor art projects. And at least once a week we'll hit the beach or the pool - I'm raising water babies! :)

We love the zoo & farms also, on nature walks we love to collect leaves, twigs, nuts and more we then make really neat art projects sometimes just a collage or make different themes with them such as animals it's amazing how creative they can be. We go for walks once the snow melts take a garbage bag with us and pick up litter left over from the winter. Every summer we do a community service project, last summer we made up flyers letting neighbors know we will be collecting food and personal hygiene products and handed them out in the neighborhood, the following week we took wagons and collected over 50 pounds of food, paper towel, toilet paper, diapers, wipes, formula, toothpaste and so much more. And about 6 or 7 neighborhood kids ended up joining us. We then loaded up the truck and took it to the food pantry helped unload the truck and help hand out food to the less fortunate. They loved doing this soooo much and the parents really appreciated me for showing the kids how some people do not have it good as they do. We have gone to an elderly persons house and a handicapped persons house raked the yard and planted flowers. Hope I am making a difference in the life of little ones !

My almost 3 yo charge absolutely loves dog, playing with toy cash registers, handing money to pay for lunch to our server and playing, ice cream shop, beauty shop, anything, "shop". So we've been talking about what we can do today as a community service project (thanks to Jaxx!) and came up with going to her grandma's house to pick lemons off her lemon tree and then making lemonade and setting up a stand where she can pour the lemonade and take the money and give it to a local animal rescue shelter. She's very excited!!!! Thanks for the idea of doing community service projects with my charge, Jaxx!!

A wonderful book to read ages 4 or 5 will start to understand it. It is a " pass it on " book truly amazing and heart touching. One Smile by Cindy McKinley . I bought it from scholastic books. You can google it.
