24/7 baby nurse

I am in negotiations for a baby nurse position for twin boys. It would be 24/7 care for 6-8 weeks. I have only done overnight care for 8 hour shifts at $35/hour.

I would be leaving my home and my fiance for the time period and I am unsure what to charge of what kind of schedule to propose for round the clock care.

If anyone has any input that would be great. If it helps located in southern California.

i am going to say - when you have a chance to make some bucks - take it! It may be an opportunity that will lead to more! Let us know any update!

Charge your normal rate. A 24/7 baby nurse is a huge luxury, they're going to have to pay for it. Newborn twins will be almost constant work.

At 35$ an hour that's 840$ a day. I'm afraid I'm pricing myself out. I've seen baby nursed charge 250-350 a day. That seems so little to me. Any idea on a schedule? I was thinking sleep at night when baby sleep and 5 hours during the day to shower, sleep, and tend to personal things.

Wow, never done this but so curious.

For me, I'd never make this kind of sacrifice unless the money was something like $840 a day.

Would you get any time off at all in that 6-8 weeks to see friends, fiance, etc.?

Is it just the money that makes you want to take this kind of position that requires so much sacrifice?

I know several people who only do these kind of jobs. $35/hr is pretty standard for twins in Southern California.

Charge your normal rate minus a break for 4-5 hours a day. Most people I know sleep when baby (or babies) sleep plus take a 4-6 hour break during the day when they are free to sleep or do whatever. With twins you won't get much sleep in the beginning at night so it's important to make sure you are using your free time to rest.

This may be too late but: I worked as a nanny alongside a baby nurse who offered 24/7 care at $400 per day.
