Guy Mason in Glover Park - D.C.

BADNANNYSIGHTING
I'm a SAHM so I'm often in the same places with the same nannies every week. Your nanny has black hair, speaks Spanish, and pushes your 2-3 year old daughter in a tan-seated Stokke Xplory stroller. Your daughter's white-blonde hair is usually done in a ponytail with the bangs clipped to the side, and I often see her wearing pink dresses that look like they came straight out of "The Magic Wardrobe" shop window on Wisconsin Ave. I saw your nanny today at the park (Guy Mason in Glover Park). Instead of trying to communicate with your daughter, who seemed desperate for attention, she was chatting with other nannies and was nowhere around when your daughter almost walked into the swing I was pushing my baby in. Of course I stopped the swing before it ever got close to hitting her. Then when your nanny finally let her swing, she just dropped your daughter into the swing without properly getting her legs through the holes of the swing, which looked unsafe. When your daughter wanted to stop, she had to hiss and scream to get the nanny to do it, which I found to be quite shocking. When she took her out of the swing, she did it so roughly that your daughter's leg got smacked on the hard rim of the swing, and the nanny did not apologize. Your daughter did not appear to be having any fun at the park. I don't know if she's such a fantastic nanny when I'm not around or what, but I think you should consider firing this uncaring woman and hiring a nanny who is actually willing to interact with your daughter.

Poor kid. I hope the parents see this. Her first priority should be the child. She can push the baby in the swing. If nanny want to talk to her friends then they can go over to the swings.

Great details OP!

Poor kid! I really don't understand why anyone would treat a little one this way! It's sad. This is not a case of letting a child independently play and explore, this is ignoring your #1 responsibility.

Good sighting OP!

This is just another sad example of a person who is working as a nanny who shouldn't be.

Perhaps she thinks it is "easy money$$" which just makes me sad.

This little girl deserves so much more! ♥

Agree with Amy--she sounds like a typical lazy nanny who doesn't care about her charge.

On another note--how adorable does this little girl sound?

OP, I love your description of the little girl--what a sweetheart! I sure hope her parents see this. The park is supposed to be fun! Not scary, sad, and dangerous :(

After reading these comments you would think that the nanny left the kid alone while she had lunch at Kavanaugh's with her friends. Maybe instead of paying someone ''easy money'' they should not leave THEIR childrearing responsibilities to strangers that take their children to ''scary, sad and dangerous places'' like Guy Mason park. This sounds like a typical case of a SAHM that has nothing to do with her time. Get a life, mind your own business, and stop acting like you witnessed a crime.
