Feature:
1) Nanny Needed (Texas)
Now, I am completely serious here. I have 32 year old husband that is 5'10 165lbs, thin framed guy. Here's he catcher.............He's an "adult baby" (just google that term) and in diapers 24/7. We have a power exchange relationship where he is the submissive and I and all women the dominant. I m looking for a female willing to babysit him when I go out. Will pay 12$ an hour and for the most part you'll just sit and watch TV w/ him at your feet. There will be the occasional diaper change ( no #2's though!) and feeding of bottles and dinner and such. Just raply if your intrested and I'll send pics and explain a little more. Basically your babysitting an over sized baby is all. 12$ an hour! Location: South Austin.

2) Live in Nanny for Room and Board (Milwaukee)
We're only about 8 miles from UW Parkside and Carthage College in Kenosha, and 7 miles to I-94. We have a room available (furnished bedroom and private bath), but would like for you to "work" for your room and board. What I mean by "work" is we need a part time nanny. We would prefer a student at UW Parkside, Carthage or Gateway, who would like to live off campus and "work for their rent" but this isn't a deal breaker, if you fit the rest of our criteria, we will look at most anyone. We are looking for a "big sister" or "big brother" for our 14 month old son and to become a part of our family. We are a gay married couple, with a 14 month old son, and our elderly mother (86) lives with us as well. We have 2 dogs, and 2 cats.

The hours you would be required to work are from 9:00am until we get home from work (usually around 5:15 or so) with occasional late evenings and/or pre-scheduled weekends. We would ask that you take care of our son, do some light housekeeping, care for the pets, and on occasion, run errands. Other than the time we require of you to watch our son, your time is yours to go to school, study, take on another job, etc; we just ask you work your schedules around our needs and respect our house and our "quiet times" since you will be living with us for free, we will expect to be your "primary job".

We will require you to be able to pass a background check and drug screen, be a legal citizen, and have a vehicle, valid driver's license, and insurance. If this sounds like something that might work for you, please respond with information about yourself, a viable email address, and a phone number so we can set up an interview. Also please use a "real" email address as we do check social network sites of potential candidates as well. When responding, please put "nanny" or "work for housing" or something of that nature in the subject line so I know you are a real response and not an automated spammer. Thanks, we hope to hear from you soon!

6) Nanny Needed ASAP (Dallas)
I have 3 children. Sabrina is 15yrs. Jordan, he is 10yrs (almost 11), and the youngest is Mason, who is 2yrs. My husband and I have run into a dilema. I work at a retail store in Irving, with odd hours & never set. Lance just started a new job which requires travel. We were not expecting him to travel so soon though.

What we are needing is part-time. I cannot say how many hours I work during the week, it's usually 15-20, of course sometimes more. I only need someone during the week to watch Mason if I work during the day. I also need someone who can pick up the older 2 from school and bring them all home. Once Sabrina is home she can watch the boys until I get home. So never later than 4:15pm. I might possibly need someone on a Sat or Sun once in awhile, but not very often.
I am open to negotiate pay. Please contact me if you would be able to fit with this schedule and are interested. The kids have no health issues, allergies or any behavour problems.

I would need to meet with you ASAP as Lance is leaving on this Sunday for ARkansas. Like I said, this just crept up on us. I know it's short notice. I won't have my new schedule until Sat.
We do require a clear driving record, since this position will require you driving the kids. Please have 3 references ready. Jenni

15) Must Read (Arkansas)
Just a Reminder

**HOURS**

As A Parent: I want in-home childcare that can accommodate my hours, driving time and my occasional stops to the grocery store.
As A Provider - I want my day to end at some point. Like you, I value my family time and obligations.

As A Parent: I work an 8hr work day, I want a provider that can be open for 10 hours to give me enough time to travel with leeway.
As A Provider - I understand that most parents work an 8 hour day. 10 hours a day for your child to be in care is too long. 10 hours a day working is long, most people who work also have coffee breaks and\or lunch breaks. Bathroom breaks for me is when it’s safe enough for me to do so, not (as for most) when it's convenient.

**RATES**

As a Parent: Center childcare rates are too high. Why are in-home childcare still so expensive and some are almost as high as Center care?
As A Provider – The care you receive in my an in-home childcare is more personal, it is higher quality, it is family based, ratio to provider is low and your child is embraced for the individual he\she is not just a number among the rest.

As A Parent - I hate paying the high cost of childcare! It feels like my whole paycheck is going towards the cost of childcare.
As A Provider –my rates are set based on a variety of factors. I make an effort to be fair, provide quality and to maintain an income for my family. In my rates I calculate the healthy choices in snacks and meals for your child, the crafts and material for learning, upgrades and maintenance in childcare toys\equipment and the curriculum and programming. Often I dip out of budget for these things from my income in order to make sure they are up to my standard for quality.

As A Parent – Why do some in-home providers feel they can charge center rates?
As A Provider –I am a very active and structured in-home childcare I run a business, I am not a “babysitter”; I define a babysitter as one whom takes care of children when it is convenient for him\her and at a very minimal level of care. Their payment is usually solely income. I provide a level of care at the upmost standard. Parents choose me based on that level of care; they want to know their child is getting the quality of care they could only imagine is possible still while in a home-based atmosphere.

**SICK DAYS**

As A Parent – I absolutely can’t miss work, I can’t afford to!
As A Provider –I appreciate that parents can’t miss work that is why I have implemented a strict sick policy to minimize how much we all have to miss work. Keeping your child isolated from the group allows him\her to get better, contain the virus\illness and reduce the risk of Daycare closure due to spread of infection\virus and\or illness. Bringing your child here sick increases the chance you will have to take more time off.

As A Parent – Why do I have to pay for a day that you take off because you are sick? I still have to work?
As A Provider – Basic workers’ rights suggest that one whom works is entitled to have sick days without it affecting their income. You don’t want me sick taking care of your child. Getting better is for the benefit of your child.

**HOLIDAYS**

As a Parent - Why should I have to pay for your holidays?
As A Provider- Like having sick days off, my time with my family and the much needed time to refresh and rejuvenate is for the benefit of your child. Holidays are a benefit to not only to my physical health but also my mental health. Consistency in payment maintains the quality in which I serve you.

As A Parent –providers should be open on State/Federal holidays, a few I still have to work and others should provide me the time to catch-up on what I need to do.
As A Provider – If I were to open on these holidays you would be out of money as I would need to be compensated with at least “time and a half” to make it worth the time spent divided from my family. Therefore to make it easier on all of us and to save you money I just take these days off.

**VACATION TIME**

As A Parent - I am going on vacation for a week. How come I have to pay when I am gone and not using daycare?
As A Provider. – Are you still obligated to pay your electricity, gas, phone ect. during this week off? Paying childcare is a service and obligation like any other in your life. As well as mine.

**LATE FEES**

As A Parent - I tried to get here and I called and told you I was going to be late. Why do I have to pay a late fee??
As A Provider –late fees is a policy that you agreed on upon enrollment. There is no exception as if I make it for you I make it for all. I have a time for my days end for a reason. Like for you, family time and commitments are very important.

As A Parent –Your childcare closes at 5 pm prompt and I am there at 5 pm prompt.
As A Provider - Thank you for being on time, I really appreciate it. If you were here 10 minutes prior we could have discussed your child’s day, however now that I am closed you must leave as prompt as you arrived so I can attend to my family and evening commitments.

**PAYMENTS**

As a Parent: I am having a hard time financially. I should be able to wait a week to give you my payment.
As A Provider – I certainly couldn’t wait a week to feed your child, nor would I suggest doing so!

As A Parent –I have two children; I think I should get a sibling discount.
As A Provider –I don’t discount the quality of care I provide for *both* children in my care. I don’t give that second child less food, less space to play, less programs to learn from, less cuddles and love...ect

**MISC**

As A Parent – I think you have the easiest job on earth. You get paid pretty good money for being at home, watching t.v., playing on the computer and minding a few kids all day long.
As A Provider –This is a job, unlike most I live, eat, sleep and breathe my job all day long. A wake up at work and go to sleep at work. My job start way before your child arrives; I am constantly inspecting my childcare space for safety concerns and\or hazard. I organize, plan and maintain. When you arrive not only do I provide care for your precious child my body and mind is heighted and consumed by making he\she is safe and his\her needs are met. It may not be the most physical job there is (however very physical none the less), it is the most emotionally consuming job on earth.

As A Parent –I pay so much in childcare every year I don’t think I need to add donations, Christmas gifts and money for parties.
As A Provider –Anything a parent contributes to their child’s care is an act of appreciation. It can be big or small it shows me that you recognize what I do for your child on a daily basis and it is being seen. Showing that you appreciate me can be as simple as a little note saying so, I guarantee it would make my day and tells me all that I do is really worth it.

As A Parent – why if I am only looking for part-time care I have to pay for a full-time spot?
As A Provider – When I have a full-time spot I will fill it with whomever wants to pay for it. You are not only paying for the care that I provide you are also paying for the space provided to you. I could guarantee if a part-time spots becomes available you will have first dibs, if you want to adjust your hours at work to be f\t then again, that space is available to you.

23) Family seeking in-home care Nanny (Atlanta)
Hello, We are a family with two children, boy: 3 years and girl: 15 months, seeking in home child care/nanny. We currently have a lovely nanny who told me she may be going back to New York, thus I posted this ad. She cares for our children full time 7am-7pm and other various times during the week should the opportunity become available. We do not have the ability to pay some of the rates I have seen: $340. $260... crazy amounts for care within a home, if you ask me. If I wanted to pay that much, I would go to a child care facility... like Goddard or Primrose! But because we are a working family and still have a child care need, we do seek a qualified person. We ask that this person have a clean background and truly enjoy spending time with our children throughout the day. We seek a person who can teach our children developmentally appropriate curriculum as well as manners and social skills. We also hope to find someone who can commute as our situation is unique. We live in Nocross now however we are moving to Johns Creek in May 2011. We do not ask that you care for our children within our home, but have the ability to pick them up and drop them off at home for an additional fee should your location be far from our new location in May. We are seeking a long term care provider and hope for only serious inquiries please. Thank you, Kristen 678-977-**** (If I do not answer, please leave a message and I will return your call at a later time)

* Response from angry CL readers:

24) RE: Family seeking in-home care Nanny (Atlanta)
Dear Kristen, I hope to goodness that you only need part time care for your children. If you think your current nanny is moving back to NY because she is homesick, I am sure you are sadly mistaken! She is leaving because your CHEAP ASS leaves her to care for 2 toddlers for 12 hours a day for less than $260 bucks a week! Hey Kristen, can you pay your bills with that amount of money? 12 hours x 5 days = 60/ 260 (even though you think that's a crazy amount) is about $4.34 an hour! Minimum wage is a helluva lot more than that! I CANNOT STAND PEOPLE LIKE YOU! I am sure that after you pay your nanny this crazy amount of money a week, you take your stuck up dumb ass to the nail salon to get your mani/pedi, go shopping, and then out for dinner because you can't afford to pay the person that deals with your bratty ass kids and dumb ass annoying mom more money! And I bet you ask her to do all kinds of housework including washing your dirty underwear! GO FIGURE!

Your nanny is probably pissed off that she even agreed to care for your kids, but I am sure she has had her fun of getting revenge in ways you would have never imagined! (Can your 15 month old tell you she cried all day in her crib because the nanny was not in the mood to work for that money you bless her with? THINK ABOUT ALL THE OTHER THINGS YOUR NANNY DOES IN HER SPARE TIME WITH YOUR KIDS!) Please do us nannies a favor and at least apply at Primrose and Goddard, that way we will no longer have to deal with you and your fucking family for $4.34! And guess what Kristen, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! So now you take the money that you don't want to pay your nanny and invest in nanny cams to see the INVESTMENT that you are making! And thank you for posting your number online, I guess I will talk to you later! GENIUS! HAVE A GREAT DAY! Tiffany

25) RE: Family seeking in-home care Nanny (Atlanta)
You are EXTREMELY unreasonable and will under no circumstances find ANYONE that will cater to you and your schedule for pay under $250. You may find that Goddard or Primrose will charge you that PER CHILD during normal operating hours. However, to take the liability in carting your children around in a vehicle because you can't drop them off and pick them up within reasonable hours, to ask for someone to care for them for 60 hrs and get paid just over $3/hr is just plain ludacris. You can't expect someone to adhere to this, and it's disrespectful to every single nanny and daycare provider out there. We have families to feed and care for just as you do. If you ask for unreasonable, you'll get unreasonable, negative responses. Are you willing to work for that amount, or do what you're asking others to do? If you double your rate you might find someone desperate enough. But to take someone's ENTIRE day and then ask for MORE on top of that, with pay they can use to support a habit, but surely not pay bills on, is just plain rude. And if you work those hours or your husband does, I would expect you both have overtime pay-and the sitter deserves 20 hrs of overtime pay as well. $260-I'd take it and hope they don't sell your children or abuse them. As a mother, to a mother, shame on you.

26) Looking for a Nanny (Missouri)
Me and my husbansd are looking for a nanny for our five children ages 3 months to 6 years (3 months old are twins). We always had a home daycare, but are deciding to have a nanny now to make it easier on us. I work as a CNA and he is plummer, so we need someone who can work differnt shedules every week. I work every other weekend, and he wants to have somebody their when I aint their. We need someone at our house at 5:30 to 3pm when i get off work. I work sometimes three weekdays and and two weekends or five weekdays. All kids are good and smart. We can pay $125 per week

Someone wrote that i can't pay much, but if you dont like the pay then please dont reply. This is all we can afford. Maybe we can go up to $150 if needed. im sorry , but we dont make much money.

27) RE: to the woman with 5 kids, seriously????? (Missouri)
REALLY????? you don't make much money.....well if your husband is a plummer then I can understand that but if he's a PLUMBER then I think you're both cracked!!!!! PLUMBERS make GOOD money so your ad should be stating at least 600 a week! Since there are 2 three month olds and presumably 2 more kids that are not school age as yet PLUS getting the 6 year old up and out for school; not to mention the housecleaning, cooking and laundry that would have to be involved for 4 preschool kids!!!!!!! Seriously, as a cna you don't make enough to pay for childcare for 5 kids so why not stay home, use some form of birth control to slow down reproduction [4 births in 6 years?!?!?!?!?] and go back to work when at least 3 of them are in school full time!!!!!! 28) RE: Looking for a Nanny (Missouri)
Wait. You want to pay $125 for a private nanny to come on random days 7 days a week for full days? What the hell? This is illegal first of all and secondly, how do you expect someone to live on so little? If you want an on call 7 days a week NANNY you are looking at $600/week at a minimum. That's low. Most in-home day cares charge more than $125/week and that is with set hours. And rightfully.
