I sent in 14 after my head started spinning.

Wow. I think I will apply for 12. They sound like the parents of a child at my daycare-a headache. Here are questions the nanny should ask the family:

Why should I work for you?
How would I be treated if I worked for you?
Describe any bad habits
What problems can I expect from you if I took the job?

I don't know which was crazier: the ads this week or the pay?

Wasn't 12 the one that didn't even mention the age of the precious child? I'm pretty sure I want to know how old a child is before I apply for the job.

number 11:

your ad is horrible. could you make yourself sound any more unpleasant to work for?????

ugh. said...

Number 14: I am not sure what you are studying at school, but perhaps you need to take a course in English or Communications because your ad was all over the place and way to lengthy to be appealing to any professional nanny.

Poor, poor, poor, poor Braedan.

If I were unlucky enough to become your nanny the first thing I would do would be (in this order) buy him a Happy Meal, find him a TV to watch pronto, and then make a call to child protective services because his mother is obviously a nut case.

Good God.

Ugh:

Bravo! I would also give me him ice cream, let him make a big mess and then help him clean it up....

You can endanger my child, but just don't give him an M&M. said...

Wait a second. Number 14 will allow a marijuana smoker to be alone with her child, and to be the primary childcare provider?! Holy Cow. Oh, but heaven forbid he play with an electronic toy! (Which, of course, he will every time he goes to daycare.)

sorry said...

Oops, moniker was too long...Sorry!

It said "You can endanger my child, but just don't give him an M&M." ;)

Holy guacamole, awesome WTF this week! I didn't know whether to laugh, pull my hair out, or cry. I'm quite certain a few of these women are completely off their rockers (*cough, cough* see: Braedan's mom, number 11, number 12 etc).

I also shudder every time I read yet another pervy daddy looking to moonlight as a pimp (she's my nanny by day, and my "working girl" by night).

Lastly, I'm honestly speechless that there are people "naive" enough to think it's a bright idea to leave their child(ren) with someone they are paying $1.00 - $4.00 an hour...good luck with that one ladies.

Umm ok which one was the pervy dad who wanted a nanny with privliages?? "I also shudder every time I read yet another pervy daddy looking to moonlight as a pimp (she's my nanny by day, and my "working girl" by night).

Curious Dad,
#3 is pretty open about what he wants in a Nanny. #5 kind of maybe alludes to having some "alone" time with his Nanny. Not too sure about that one though as it is not written very well.

CuriousDad said...

Ok, Missed Number #3. Yep, Pervy Dad.

#5 Reads to me like two couples who have shift work and one of them needs to sleep during the day. Like someone with MY job. The alone does not seem to allude to being with the dad, but working as the caregiver alone. Then they are the "daddy help (Read mothers help for Dad) and he goes to sleep.

FYI, why has no one commented on #27 and that pervy Mom?

MaryPoppin'Pills said...

Aw, Curious Dad... #27 is a pervy Mom because she is gay? Shame on you now!

She doesn't say anything at all about wanting to make the Nanny her plaything.

You should be sent to your room!

MPP:
I think curious dad is refering to this
"Let me know if you think we might be a match!"

from the lesbian mommy in #27

MaryPoppin'Pills said...

Silly,
I kind of figured that, I was just giving him a hard time.

I have seen "if you think we might be a good match" many times in Nanny Ads... I am pretty sure it wasn't meant in a sexual way.

CuriousDad said...

Ahh, but I also have seen the "lets see if we match" or close facsimilie to it, if it is from a single male you guys jump on it as a pervy man. :)

For every Pervy man I can find you a Pervy woman.

Same with just plain Crazy.

CuriousDad said...

Oh, and to add the ONLY reason I can even mention she may have meant a version a Pervy Dad is becuase she likes women. If she was straight and mentioned a Manny, then I could jump all over that. :) But alas I have not seen one. Yet, given sometime I am sure I will.

Kat in her hat said...

MPP is correct, I was referring to # 3 who is blatantly (and unashamedly) obvious regarding what all of his "needs" are from his "nanny".

I would never consider a male OR female employer pervy for seeking the "correct match" in an employee. Years ago, I worked as a nanny and worked for many employers (both male and female) who used that exact phrase.

I for one, do not subscribe to the "all men are pigs theory" I simply pointed out the perverted father post because I have seen them many times before (in previous WTF postings) and they always make my skin crawl. With that being said, I also point out odd posts pertaining to women as well.

Curious Dad,
I would be right behind you on that one! I would love to find a Mom looking for a Manny... and a little fun on the side! I am pretty sure it would make the Feature slot, lol.
