I'm looking for someone to care for her in mine or your home. preferably yours because i don't like my stuff broken or messy. I also don't just want you to be my babysitter, i want you to have a connection with her. If you are interested please e-mail me. Thank You

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the feature ad, in my opinion. When a sitter brings a child to their home, the rate is much lower. I have cared for children in my home for that rate, and have now hired a sitter for my child for 6 hours a day m-f at 150 per week.
Some people are struggling. This guy is looking for someone he can afford. I'm sure he will find his match. Give the guy a break.
I think the parents that have that baby on a schedule like they do for #19 are insane. That baby needs to just relax and be allowed to play and enjoy her environment!
Scheduling color recognition and arm and leg exercises and all that jazz is so unnecessary.
#1 was NOT picked because the rate of pay. It was picked because of this hilarious statement:
"I'm looking for someone to care for her in mine or your home. preferably yours because i don't like my stuff broken or messy."
Ok... so he'd rather his kid tear YOUR shit up! lol
I didn't really find that statement that weird. I have done home daycare for years and it is no secret that the parents choose home daycare, among other reasons, because the children trash your house, not theirs. At least this guy was honest about it.
Mpp, I also find #1 hilarious. Having kids entails a thrashed house...like it or not. Also, what does this father do with the child in the evening - tie her to a chair, so his "stuff" stays nice and clean?
great work as usual, mpp, but what
exactly is this picture about? It's just so...I am not sure I have the words for it.

"Large ex-military family" lol, I thought they would have 6 kids or something but they just have two......so does "large" refer to their butts or what? Also for the last one I can understand the OP's situation, it is better to be honest then resort to the trickery we often see on this site that parents who can only afford $30 a day resort to, such as non-payment, bad checks, etc. And the second mad response is just soooo smug, haha. Oooh you were a little off on your math, I'm so much smarter than you and now all of Craigslist can see! Haha, joke's on them.

What all of these posts tell me is that our nation is insane that it does not provide childcare and help to it's citizens. I doubt you would see anything like this in France or Sweden or Denmark or Germany. It is clear we do not value health, families or education when moms have to scramble like this to find childcare while they work. Sad,sad, sad. Wake up America!
CL-WTF = controversial
The pic? Hmmm, seemed to fit...
Good childcare has gone down the toilet.
Excuse me, I misspoke.
I say for the most part it has gone down the toilet because it enrages me when I see a Parent asking a stranger to watch their child with one hours notice on CL.
It enrages me when I see a Parent offer (and think they can get away with) paying $1.25 an hour for a professional Nanny to work 55 hours a week.
It enrages me when I see a child begging a park bench Nanny for some attention and they rather text or talk to their Nanny friends.
MPP I was gonna say the same thing about the people who ask for childcare either that DAY or that week on Craigslist of all places.
I responded this to the one about $20.00 a week.
Are you serious?
You want someone to come into your house and watch your kids for $20.00 a WEEK?
No one can live off of that wage, could you? If you want someone responsible to take care of your children then you need to pay a fair wage. And by the way, a 6 and 7 year old can not take care of themselves.
People drive me crazy sometimes.
The last part I didn't say to them lol.
I just need to put this out there...
When sending in CL-WTF ads, I often receive ones that look like this:
[11:44] meeboguest529071: Looking for a nanny (Clifton)--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Date: 2010-05-03, 10:24PM EDTReply to: comm-mcbqf-1723356675@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hello. I am looking for a full-time nanny from 8-5 M,T,Th,F I have a 3 month old baby girl and would love to have a nanny take care of her instead of taking her to daycare. $650 a month.
The "EDTReply to: comm-mcbqf-1723356675@craigslist.org" is for CL readers to respond to those that wrote the post. It is not the link for the ad. When I can I try to go back and search for the link... if I have enough info in the ad itself to find it.
Please remember that the link to the ads will be at the VERY TOP of the page and it ALWAYS starts with https://
Thanks everyone!
It is crazy to think how little some people want to pay to have a nanny in their home.
This crazy lady emailed me said she was looking for a nanny..that she would pay $5 an hour..I emailed her back and said I would work for no less then $12 per hour..I have a degree in education along with experience as a live in governess and live out nanny. (A college nanny in my city makes no less then $10).
she emailed me back and said she is orginaly from Ny and that all of her friends from there paid the nannies that also do housework $4-8..lol Make me laugh..she wants someone to clean her house, watch her newborn and 15 month old, and who knows what else for $5/hour.
