Shocking News...

Chained 6-year-old girl Flees Attacker - Mass.
A man lured his son's 6-year-old friend to an apartment with a promise to show her some pet gerbils, then bound her with tape and leg shackles, injected her with an unknown substance and tried to rape her, but she fled while still chained, authorities said Monday. Justin Shine, 26, was charged with kidnapping, attempted rape, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — a hypodermic needle — and resisting arrest.

Mom Locks Special Needs Child, 5, in Scorching Attic - Mass.
Police responding to a report of a 3-year-old being locked in a sweltering, filthy attic were told by other children, "Mommy does this when she gets angry," a prosecutor said Friday. Police said the boy was naked, covered in urine and feces, and had several minor bumps on his forehead when officers acting on a tip went to Kristen Paquette's apartment Thursday. They estimated the temperature inside the attic at over 100 degrees. The door to the room was locked, and the only window inside was nailed shut, said prosecutor Dan Harren.

Kids Found Alone in Filthy Home, Begged Neighbors for Food - Ohio
A Lorain neighborhood is in shock after children went to residents' houses, begging for food. Police said they found the children, ages 4, 3, 2 and 1, alone in the home that had dirty dishes in the sink, a toilet filled with feces and spoiled food in the refrigerator. The children told police that they had to go to the bathroom outside and one child said he hadn't had a bath since the family moved into the home more than a month ago.

Furor Builds Over Child Rapist's Sentence - Oklahoma
A plea deal that sent an ex-convict accused of raping a 4-year-old girl to jail for only a year has prompted outrage across Oklahoma, where lawmakers are calling for the removal of the judge who approved the deal and the attorney general is investigating a new set of abuse allegations. Under the deal, David Harold Earls, 64, of the southeastern Oklahoma town of McAlester, pleaded no contest last month to first-degree rape and forcible sodomy.

Scary that the relatives of the mom who locked the boy in the attic see nothing wrong with what she did. A condemned house and a child covered in urine and feces and there is "no abuse"? People are unbelievable.

I am just sickened by these stories. :( I am literally in tears reading them. :(

I cannot believe the man who got only 1 year in jail for raping a child. Anyone watch Dexter? I wish someone like that would find this man when he gets out of jail and torture him to death.

These are all horrible.

What's with the mom who left four children, ages 4 and under, alone in a squalid house having her kids cared for by a relative until she cleans house? That's completely ridiculous.

No wonder the mom who locked her child in the attic feels entitled to do so...her entire family is clearly sick, because they seem to portray the attitude that this "unruly" child "deserved" what happened to him. Somebody needs to look into how all of the children in that entire extended family are "disciplined." And, sadly, it sounds like nobody in the family has much feeling for this poor little boy. I fear he was probably treated shamefully by that entire clan of ignorant inbreds. He's THREE years old, for gosh sake! And did they say he was a preemie? Sick.

The child rapist. I don't know what evidence they actually do have against him. It sounds sketchy...not that I don't believe he did it (I can hardly form an opinion based on the "evidence" in this article), but in this country we don't (at least on purpose, or with support of the constitution) put people in jail for long periods of time without reasonable evidence against them. Sounds like the prosecutors feel their case is weak, and a potential loser in court. I suspect (HOPE!) that otherwise they would have gone full force against him. I know it sucks...and I know he probably did it...but that's just not the way our justice system works. I'm as conservative as they come...and I have no mercy for child abusers...but based on what I see in this article, I can't say for certain that I could, in good conscience, vote "guilty" in a trial.

OMG - 1 year for ANY rapist is too short a sentence, but forced sodomy on a child..geesh.

And I hope that woman who locked her kid in the attic never gets him back. She seems very sick in the head.

Mom - I agree with you about the rapist. As much as it makes me sick to think that he probably did it and will be out in a year, that's how our justice system works, and I can't imagine the prosecutors would have gone for it if they thought they had any chance of winning at trial.

Hopefully something comes from the other case they said they had some info on and they can lock him up long term.

Let's hope...as long as he's actually guilty.
Maybe I am a little jaded because they are suddenly letting what I consider to be an alarming number of people out of long term prison sentences, too many off of death row, who dna has proven innocent.

I am shocked at the numbers of apparently innocent people in prison. I want good proof before I convict.
I used to be of the mind "where there's smoke, there's fire," but no more.

Don't get me wrong...when somebody is guilty of something against a child, I'm all to happy to lock them away forever. I just want to know they're actually guilty.

I just had to jump in here... Concerning the last story, David Harold Earls, I have read several News Articles about this animal, each one more detailed about the incident than the last. There was proof that both children were sexually assaulted, however, they posed problems while up on the stand when trying to testify. The little boy ran out of the courtroom, refusing... the little girl hid under one of the tables until coaxed out and placed back on the stand where she did at least identify Earls as the man who assaulted her. But since there was no conclusive DNA to link Earl to the rape, they figured it would be best to strike a deal, which once word got out, enraged everyone... except oddly enough, the children's Mother.

Prosecutors are resting hope that Earls estranged daughter, who alleges she was raped when she was younger, will put him in jail for good... barring the statute of limitations on this crime.

If I were serving on the Jury, this monster would have been thrown to the wolves for the rest of his life... where big, fat, sweaty men could pass him around and each remind him daily of what he did to those children.

You go MPP! Not only may he be passed around by the sodomites in prison, but let him look upon the face of Him and confess his sins, for his judgment will be far worse than anything on the earth.

Thanks for the clarification, MPP. This is the first I have heard of this story...and the attached article is sort of vague.

I have heard that what child molesters get in prison is far worse than being passed around as a sex toy for the other inmates. I happen to have just read a book called "Prison Diary." It's about a guy in prison in England, but the practice there is apparently for the other inmates to hold pedophiles down and pour scalding water on their faces, permanently branding them in a way no plastic surgery can repair.

The scariest part for me is that I have heard that pedophelia is not curable. So, you can lock a guy up for as long as you want, "rehabilitate" him the entire time, and he will still come out a pedophile when he is released.

Allot of prisoners are Dads and moms themselves most of them may be out right B'tards. But they will put the smack down on Pedophiles. It is one thing to get a little nookie through rape, its another to get your nookie through a child in most of their minds.

Curious Dad,
I think it speaks volumes that even even felons have standards that tend to preclude child rape. It's such an incredibly heinous thing to do that even most sociopaths won't go there.

Mom
Excellent post, I agree.

Dad,
Nookie?

Just My Opinion,

No thank you. I am married. :)

Curious Dad,
I'm laughing! Sounds a bit like someting Mr. Roper would have said!

Dad,
I can't figure out if you are trying to be funny or not but I was meaning "nookie?" as in "strange choice of a word". I'm aware that you are married. However, since you brought it up, if you should ever happen to get divorced.....

CuriousDad said...

Just my opinion,
Yes, I was being deliberately obtuse and funny. It was 5:45 in the morning I was in that kind of mood when I was typing.

But, why I used the word "Nookie". I used a soft version of the slang for sex to stress how many criminals consider rape as not really a crime but just getting some because they can. Versus actual Pedophilia and Child rape.
Neither are good things in my mind. Just pointing out the difference from what I understand in most criminal minds, at least for those who would resort to rape.

Dad,
Thanks for clarifying. I just hadn't heard that word used in a long time and it threw me off.

But, my offer still stands. ;)
