Yesterday, May 11 (Monday), at the Playground at 85th and CPW. An overweight, tall, black nanny with a boy named Oscar who seemed to be around 2. The stroller is a red Maclaren.She was screaming at him , grabbing him by the arm. she was so nasty it was sickening. Watching her made me think "she hates her job and the child." she screamed because he wanted to stand at the fence (which is perfectly safe and near no exit) and watch the squirrels. Screamed and threatened him. Please fire this nanny. She doesn't like being a nanny and shouldn't be around children.

regardless of a bad day, this is unacceptable behavior.
Horrible, that poor child. This is a good example of why you should have a friend whom the nanny doesn't know cruse by the playground and let you know how it is going. Neighbors, Gymboree teachers etc. can be good sources, too. they may not volunteer information, but will give their impression if asked.
How awful. Poor, baby. :(

I almost had a heart attack reading this - I live on the UWS and have a 2 yr old named oscar. but we don't have a red stroller and my nanny is definitely not overweight. despite that I wish there was a photo!
