Ogunquit Maine without a doubt. it's beautiful, the Marginal Way is a gorgeous walk for almost any fitness level and it's a short ride to Old Orchard Beach, with a full boardwalk with rides for the kids.

Staying in Ogunquit in season can be pricey, but not as pricey as the Jersey Shore! it's much cleaner, the beaches are FREE, parking doesn't cost a fortune and there are tons of cheaper, clean hotels to be had out of town.

Va. Beach!
It's beautiful, clean, fun and whimsical .... Lots of cool Artwork litter the Boardwalk.

Malibu, and Corona del Mar.
Can't choose beyond that 'cause each has its own personality.

I adore the remote reefs and Rotuma Beach in Fiji.

Since we've been to Florida 3 times in the past year and 1/2 (and have plans to move there in the near future) - I have to say, although I was excited to see Daytona Beach .... I wasn't too impressed.
However, Clearwater Beach was really beautiful with it's white sand .... I'd never seen white sand before! And I totally dig the Palm trees, lol.

Coopers Beach in Southampton, for certain. It's not too far and always a ton of fun.

I really love going to Newport, any of the beaches there. It's so nice and relaxing. Love all the little shops and restaurants nearby too.

One of these days, I want to visit California. Looooong haul from this side of the U.S.!

Ahhh Umass...another thing in common. I think anyway. Do you mean Newport on the East Coast, or in California? I grew up in the Califronia Newport area. Hard to be away from those beaches! I just had my kids at the beach this weekend...and it is soooo relaxing and beautiful...the sound of the waves, the smell of the water and the screaming seagulls. In high school we had to guard our lunches so carefully....never able to just spread them all out on the table like a real meal, 'cause the seagulls would swoop in and eat anything they could get...even in the center of a table with people all around it!
last weeken we had a hotel rrom on the beach. I woke up in th emiddle of the night, forgetting where I was and thought, because of the sound of the pounding surf, that we were in the midst of a huge thunderstorm! Heheeh.

lol sorry mom, I meant the east coast! but I love California soo soo much: my Dad took us there several times and I would love to go with my family someday. It is awesome.

I've never been to Newport Beach, R.I., but it looks quaint.
Lots of little shops and Bed and Breakfasts right, Umass?

I need to stop posting here! As you can see, I'm obviously a beach bum, lol.

UmassSlytherin said...

yes mpp, newport is really cute. are you really a beach bum? I like the beach in moderation, but I'm a camping girl myself. I do prefer the woods!

My favorite beaches?
Old Orchard Beach and Goose Rocks Beach, both in Maine.

Surfside Beach/Texas!

The water is always warm, warm, warm!

I miss camping, I actually use to do that a lot when I was younger. I was reading an article about New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest. You hike up several miles and there are 8 huts on top of the mountain. It's run kind of like a Bed and Breakfast.
It's a Cabin with communal bunk rooms, and family-style meals .....
Something like that would be so cool!
Nearby are cascading waterfalls, and some of the Country's most dramatic landscapes.
It's about 350 mi. from NY.
..... maybe one day, lol.

Until then, I'll stick to the Oceanfront. :)

We are looking for a someone to sit in our Bayonne home, for a few hours (usually 7:00pm to around 12 or possibly 1:00 am) one or two nights out of the week and/or possibly a few hours during the weekend for our 3 well behaved children, ages 13, 11 and 4.

There is not a set schedule, it's for when my husband and I decide to go to dinner/movie, etc...

Pay is around $25.00 - $30.00 - more if the hours are extended. Please note that it is NOT $25.00 - $30.00 PER HOUR. That is the amount to be paid for the few hours they are watched.

If this is an interest to you, please email me.

If you lije camping, but worry about all the fuss with little ones..try Yellowstone. they have cabins and rustic, but homey motels (some with communal bathrooms...but you can get a room with your own bath if you book early...like as in months and months early. Extremely cheapb/c its a national park....and SOOOO much outdoors to do! Cannot recommend that enough.

Me too, mom. We used to go on picnics at a beach when I was little that you could cook, and do bonfires and stuff. I don't remember what it was called, but this picture reminds me of those good times.
