If you're game, we'd to know a little more about those of you who visit the blog on a regular basis. No stress or pressure, but if you have the time, please take part in the Proust questionnaire. What is your current state of mind?
Exhausted and somewhat amused.

What is your greatest fear?
Not mattering.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
The love of gossip.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Laziness, a sense of entitlement or the inability to think for themselves.

Corey Booker.

Which living person do you most despise?
A certain heartless opportunist does come to mind, but I can't very well name names.

On what occasion do you lie?
To get out of going places I don't want to go.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?
I hesitate to say.

When and where were you happiest?
Sometime in 1997. It was a very good year.

Which talent would you most like to have?
To read other people's minds, of course.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
One thing? I honestly wouldn't know where to start.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I don't believe I have one, but I'd like to think I've done a deciperhable amount of good for other people.

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would it be?
What do I think it would be? A bat or a rodeo clown. What would I want it to be? An ocean.

What is your favorite occupation?
A filmmaker.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez, AM Holmes, Barbara Kingsolver, Herman Hesse

Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
I enjoy reading fiction, but I find the heroes of everyday life much more compelling.

Who are your heroes in real life?
Teachers (the great ones), working mothers (who do it all), stay at home mothers (who choose to stay home and raise their children), fathers that put their children and families first, service men and women, anyone who stands up for someone weaker.

What are your favorite names?
Chauncy, Gar & Sutton.

What is your greatest regret?
I have regret for the hurt I have caused others, intentionally or unintentionally.

How would you like to die?
Saving the world.

In the hospital when my daughter was born healthy.

Auto-mechanic skills: it would save us tons of money!

I would make myself anxiety-free.

Owning my own home.

I would want to be a bird. There are a pair of cardinals in my backyard that just seem so freaking happy.

Holden Caulfield, if you can call him a hero.

My brothers and sisters.

Declan for a boy, Sage for a girl. (Neither of which my husband wants to have anything to do with!)

What is your greatest regret?
Only seeing the Monkees five times in concert, and never with Mike Nesmith. :(

With loved ones surrounding me.

What is your current state of mind?
Calm and relaxed, but I'm sure that won't last. My son just had breakfast and he'll be zipping around here soon!

Heights.

I might have a slight problem with perfectionism. :)

People that are prejudice, stubborn, greedy or selfish. :(

I will lie if it involves saving someone hurt feelings.

Everybody knows the answer to this! My beautiful son.

High school years were fun ... but I'm pretty happy right now!

Magic. I'd like to blink my eyes or wave my hand whenever I needed to clean my house or get something done I don't want to do!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
There's a lot of things I'd like to change, but if I did, then I wouldn't be me!

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Being a Mom. I know I've made mistakes, but this was something I never thought I would do, or be so good at!

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would it be?
If I actually had a choice, maybe a Dolphin.

Ballet Dancer.

Superman. Because my son said so!

My son, for what he's had to go through. My Dad, for surviving Cancer. And all of the other people that go out of their way to make someone else's life a little bit better.

There's only one name I'm really crazy about, and that's my sons name.

What is your greatest regret?
Not getting to see my best friend right before she died.

How would you like to die?
Sometimes I'm afraid of Death, sometimes I'm not. On the days that I am, I'd like to die in my sleep. On the days that I'm not, I'd like to be surrounded by my friends & family.

I would like to be better at letting go and letting God

One of them is coming into my husband's life and proving to them (and my own family along the way) that just because people are different, they are not necessarily bad

I would want it to be someone with vocal talent, but I would probably be another ordinary person like I am now

Those who stand up in their beliefs enough to die for them in a foreign country. I don't agree with them at all, but it's the bit where they care enough about their own convictions to do something about them that I like.

I only have one regret: buying a gas-guzzling, 17-mpg Jeep one month before gas skyrocketed a dollar a gallon

A little tired (I've got a teether here) and a little nauseous (kids are playing "Tony Hawk" on PS2 and it's making me dizzy).

What is your greatest fear?
Outliving any of my children and DH not returning from a fishing trip.

I am a natural worry-wart and I can be a downer without realizing on it. I'm working on both though!

Laziness, self-rightousness, dishonesty, disloyalty, entitlement, people who complain, but do nothing to solve the problem.

My dad, my husband and my mentor, who showed me so many amazing things.

The man who killed my mother.

Little white ones to spare people's feelings, to my kids when they keep asking "Why?" or I just don't want them to know the real answer. They'll find out everything in due time.

My hubby. And my kids, but in different ways.

March 17, 2003, holding my twins in my arms, calling DH on the satillite phone.

Which talent would you most like to have?
To balance EVERYTHING in my life equally. Or to fly. That could be fun.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Stop being so hard on myself. I do the best I can, but there are days where it doesn't all get done.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Birthing 4 babies, adopting 2 and raising them to be good, honest people, good Christians and hardworkers. At least they've done well so far.

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would it be?
Something with a lot of arms. You can never have too many arms. Or an Olympic gymnast. Was a gymnast, never made it THAT far, though.

A photographer for National Geographic, a fisherman and a midwife.

The husband in Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, I can't remember his name right now.

Teachers, people who earn an honest living, hardworkers, Christians who are completely devoted to the Lord, my father.

Girls: Saoirse, Siobhan, Adrienne, Julienne, and Hailey. Boys: Aodhan, Jack, Seamus, Micah and Malachi

What is your greatest regret?
Not being there when my mother died. I try not to think about how awful her last moments were.

How would you like to die?
Something quick and painless, there one minute, gone the next. I enjoy the element of surprise... and I don't want my husband, kids, father or siblings weeping over my bed for days. Celebrate my life, don't mourn my death.

Losing somebody I love or dying too young and missing out on my children's lives

Anxiety/fearful

dishonesty and meanness

Which living person do you most admire?
Two particular women I know who always seem to manage to treat everybody with love and kindness...no matter whatsoever how that person has treated them first. That is true grace.

Which living person do you most despise?
Fortunately I don't hate or despise anybody...but I have a hard time forgiving my sis in law for certain things she does...on an ongoing basis...and sometimes it takes me a while to get there. If I was willing to live with hate...which I am absolutely not...I suppose I would choose her.

On what occasion do you lie?
I will say whatever I have to to avoid hurting anybody's feelings unnecessarily.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My husband, my kids and my family

When and where were you happiest?
The time when my kids were small will undoubtedly shine as my happiest time of life...ever

Which talent would you most like to have?
I like that I am artisic and would be astisified with that...but if I could sing and sound better than a wounded moose I would really like that too.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would like not to be painfully shy and terrified in groups.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Being the best mom I was able to. I may not have been perfect...but I have tried my best every single day to be worthy of the gift of these children God entrusted to me.

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would it be?
A very loved child in a stable and loving family.

Mom, artist

Who are your favorite writers?
I read too many different kinds of things to choosea favorite. But I remember when I was reading A Death in the Family by James Agee I was completely blown away by his incredible writing talent.

Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
Hmmm, not such a fiction fan. I guess Batman, bu tonly because I loved The Dark Knight.

Who are your heroes in real life?
People who live with integrity and honor, even when nobody is looking.
And Mother Theresa.

Bono is an excellent role model for today. Couldn't admire the guy more.

What are your favorite names?
Gave those to my children. If I had more children, I would definitely be throwing Jacob, Lilly and Kirsten into the pot for consideration.

What is your greatest regret?
The times I hurt people....especially the times I knew better and did it anyway. Ouch.

in my sleep, after a long life with my family, and having not been sick
