amazing!! is it a real story?? I just googled it and looked on youtube and it seems like it may be from a movie of some sort, but nonetheless it is heartwarming. I just cried like a baby :)

oh... that made me cry I love kitties so much. He reminded me of my little guy that i have at home.

I have always loved lions... what a good boy. Lions will act like that too around the scent of lavender.

My stepsister sent me this video a few days ago and ever since I have been watching it several times a day, sending it to everyone I know and posting it all over my myspace. I LOVE it.

And yes, it is a real video with real footage. One of them, George Adamson, was actually murdered in Kenya in 1989 by Somali poachers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Adamson

Actually, George was not one of the owners of the lions. He was the guy who trained Christian to get him adapted to the wildlife before releasing him!!

Did the lion go to an animal preserve? Otherwise I am wondering how they found Christian again.

It makes me sad to think maybe Christian felt abandoned by his "daddies" and was so happy to be reunited with them...only to have them leave again.

I said this to my husband and said I hoped at least one of them stayed living nearby after that. He, being practical, wondered what they were supposed to do about their regular day jobs? I, being realistic, pointed out that most professionals with inflexible corporate jobs don't raise lions in their living rooms, and so these guys are probably used to being somewhat unconventional anyway.

Anyway, I am going to go on pretending in my mind that they visited Christian regularly thereafter. Otherwise I will have to cry about it even at other tioes than when I am watching the video!

I have never known so many people to be out of town so early in the summer. I am used to August making my block seem like a ghost town, but everyone I know has been away this whole week! Welcome back Mom, welcome back Jane.

Vi
I know, I thought the same thing.
I think quite a few people went away this week because we have so many that usually post daily.
Of course it is a Holiday week ...

I take mine in Feb or March.
I think next year we're going to try Vegas. I hear they've geared it more towards Family now.

This is for you, Mom.

The complete story of how Christian was acclimated to the wild .... really incredible.
