I just came back from the Memorial Day Parade in Douglaston, NYC. It was very moving. I was surprised at how choked up I got as soldiers from all branches marched down the boulevard. I've never been to this parade before, it was really small-town feeling. Very humbling to see the ancient veterans walking and to realise how many never got to be this old. Thanks to all the service men and women out there keeping us safe.

I wish more faces were seen on TV. Casualities are on the rise. Do people know that? This war is ridiculous.
By the end of Saturday at least 100 American troops had died in the first 26 days of May, an average of 3.85 deaths a day. At that pace, 119 troops will have died by the end of the month, the most since 137 soldiers were killed in November 2004, when U.S. troops were fighting insurgents in Fallujah.

When I read how so many of these people died, roadside bombs- I just find it so unbelievable.
