Sleeping Nanny in Toronto, Canada

Received Tuesday, April 17, 2007
I didn't know about this site till I was recently contacted by a friend. Your nanny was spotted at the Park near Milden Hall and Lawrence. She had dark brown hair shoulder length, East Indian background but could possibly be from the islands as well, late 30's-early40's. I am not 100% sure. She frequents the park with your young son and spends most of her time sleeping on the park bench. I assume since she does it at the park then she probably sleeps in your home or others as well! I commented to her about the sleeping incident and she had nothing to say to me. I have seen this nanny coming out of a red brick home on Wanless with your child, not sure if this is where you reside or if the nanny was simply there on a play date.

Please try to include as much of this information as possible-JD

Interesting post Candada. I am glad you sent it in because I have often wondered how nannies in other countries behave. Curiously- and I know this does not matter because I don't know the nanny but are those streets that you listed or an actual Hall? I am trying to visualize it and just curious.

I'm curious too, Florida Mom. It seems that problems with nannies are not just a concern here in the U.S.

What a great site! You are refering to Wanless Park on Mildenhall Road. In the summer it can be very busy, but there have been quite a few people going to the park as of late. I have seen many filipino nannies at the park with the kids there, just sitting on the park benches and not looking after the kids. Wanless Park is a very large park and it is very easy for a child to wander off on their own, how dangerous for a nanny to be sleeping like this! I have not seen this sleeping nanny but do know of friends who have had to fire nannies for this VERY REASON, how sad!

Curious, if you have seen the nanny entering and exiting a house, why not send a note, or contact police?

I think you should leave a note at the home in which you saw them exiting! Even if it is not their home I'm sure the people there will know exactly who they are.

yes, please leave a note, a life could be saved.

Why so many sleepy nannies? Boredom? Wild nightlife? I have to wonder.

sleeping nannies? Prozac?
Make sure to know who psychotrophic meds your nanny is on!

Wild nightlife, I wish! At the end of the day, I am way too tired from running around the playground etc., to go out.
here is my opinion. Real nannies don't fall asleep on the job. These women are cleaning women who babysit.

I am playing with my children in the park pretty often. There is a group of Philippino nannies here. They are all just talking while the kids are playing by themselves. They are not even watching the clildren. I will not hire one of these Philippino nannies. I have no idee why people would do something like this? Watch out !
