Your child is being driven to school by a caucasian nanny who drives a Volvo SUV. I have observed the nanny driving to school and from school with your daughter while on her cellphone. I have also noticed her lighting up a ciggarette in the car after dropping off and before picking up- if this is okay with you- fine. I wouldn't want my child driving around in a car that had been smoked in nor would I want her transported around by someone who was constantly gabbing on her cellphone. Not to be petty, but something about this nanny irks me!

Are you sure this is the nanny? It sounds like it could be any number of selfish Westchester mommys!
Maybe it's her car....maybe the whole family are smokers.
Maybe she was on the cell with the mom.
Give me a break, sounds like you just wanted to post.

Give me a break, "H." Maybe it's her car (therefore, ok if she smokes around the kid??) and she is ALWAYS on the cell phone with the kid's mom?? PLEASE.
Did you miss the part where the poster said, "If this is ok with you- fine."???
What's wrong with a concerned bystander alerting the parents to something they may or MAY NOT know?
I am not saying they can smoke around the kid. Hmmmm The kid was already dropped off. Don't get me wrong nannies and smoking etc is a tricky area. But what if the family doesn't mind. (I know she posted that too.)
What is wrong with a concerned bystand is that they are a bystander and don't know the who story. The child wasn't with her, she might not even still be on the clock.

could be the mom too you know, could also be that her job only goes until drop off, and i'm on the phone with my nanny a lot while she is driving. i've spent plenty of time in the car with her even while she is on the phone and i trust her driving abilities.
i live in pelhem and i dont know any jefferson elementary
I think Jefferson is actually in New Rochelle.
Jessica, you are an idiot. It is illegal to drive while you are on your cellphone in New York. I know this because I have been ticketed for it. I would absolutely not excuse some nanny gabbing on the phone in my car which I am paying the insurance on while she is transporting my child. You sure as sh*t don't sound like a mother. Not a very good one, anyway.
Explain to me why you're all arguing. Someone tries to make a helpful site for parents and nannies and all you do is compare parenting skills. I AM a CPN and I would never speak (or type) in that manner. It's childish and perhaps neither of you should be caregivers.
