Awesome nanny needed (View Ridge/U village-ish)
I know. You’ve read all the boring ads and they all promise the same sweet little well behaved angels. You’ve learned to read between the lines with words like “high-energy” and know that all it really means is the kid eats too much sugar and is a total pain. You love being a nanny because you love children and it beats slinging plates at some cheesy Mexican place where the most exciting part of your job is taking pictures of people in sombreros when it’s their birthday.
I'm a nanny and I'm writing this ad for the family I will be soon leaving. I was lucky enough to find an amazing family to work with…I say “work with” because we are all on the same team and work together to raise happy, considerate and loving children. I’ve “worked” FOR families and they are the type to not take too much interest in the lives of their children let alone me. The family I’m with now (until the potential “you” takes my place) has brought me into their family and would probably let me be in their annual Christmas card family photo…if they actually did such a thing.
I’ll stop over using quotation marks if you promise to answer this ad only if you genuinely find beauty in the innocence of children and treasure time you get to spend with them. The point is you have to love what you do. Otherwise, well…why would you be torturing yourself with tantrums and diapers? Boy, you people are sick.
So the job? It’s part time with flexibility on Mondays and date nights twice a month on Saturday nights. The other two days are not flexible and the hours 8;30-5:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The kids? Four year old boy and a five month old girl. Pay and other details will be discussed and decided upon based on experience.
