What is a fair rate?

Hello!
I recently moved to Melbourne, Australia from the states, and just accepted a nanny share position. I will be mainly full-time nannying 8 month old twins at a rate of $20/hour, but two days a week, their 9 month old cousin will join in. What would be a fair rate for me to charge for the days I have all three infants?

Thanks in advance!

I currently nanny for twins who are 18 months and have been with them since 3 months. Are you sure you can handle three 8-9 month old babies regularly? That is a lot of work. You can pretty much count on having zero down time on those days, so I hope they don't expect any chores to be done.

At $20 for twins, I'd easily up that to at least $35/hour on the days the extra child will be there. You're going to want to make sure the salary increase is enough to make it worth your while.

I added on an extra child (friend of the twin's family) a couple months ago and it was too much. The twins generally nap at the same time, giving me a lot of down time that is essential for me during the day.
