Nanny Appreciation Week

-I'm curious to see how many nannies have actually been acknowledged during nanny appreciation week? When I worked in preschools I was always acknowledged along with the other teachers. Not only during teacher appreciation week but holidays as well. As a nanny not once has a family acknowledged my hard work during nanny appreciation week OR any other nanny that I know.

National Nanny Recognition Week was created in 1998 to recognize and celebrate nannies across the country. NNRW is a week during which families, businesses, and the media will be encouraged to focus on the positive aspects of the nanny profession, the important role nannies play in the lives of the families and the wonderful contribution they make in the lives of the children they care for. This year NNRW is from 9/20-9/26.

I didn't even know it was nanny recognition week, so I doubt my employers did either.

oh yeah! My bosses made me feel very appreciated! Last year I got a little something everyday from my nanny share families. Monday was pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Tuesday was a card made by the girls. Wednesday was a gift certificate to our downtown area that could be used anywhere. Thursday they have me a necklace with my nanny name engraved with a heart. Then Friday they gave be a $300 bonus. I love my families! I couldn't ask for a better situation!

It's not nanny appreciation week. It is in September, about the time the kids are back in school and I breathe a sigh of relief and say THANK GOD I HAVE A NANNY!

I didn't know about it either, lol, so I've never gotten anything, but my employers show their appreciation all year-round (bonuses, gifts, profuse thanks, etc) so I'm good!

I'm also upset that General Mills hasn't thanked me during Cereal Eaters Appreciation week, but I'll carry on somehow.

To "this_nick".....seriously? Ever hear of if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all?? You clearly have no class and i pray u have no children or a nanny bc nannies help raise the children and are generally with the child(ren) more than the parent. We deserve just as much if not more appreciation that other professions get (nurse appreciation week, boss's appreciation day, teacher appreciation week, etc etc). So please do us all a favor and take your ignorant self off this site!!!
