Target on Elston - Chicago, Illinois

BADNANNYSIGHTING
Target on Elston in Chicago, Thursday September 27th - black nanny, approx height 5'8 or 5'9" shopping with a blue eyed, blonde boy named Bryce (3 years old?) at 10:30 am. She was on her phone (ear piece) having a very adult conversation, ignoring the whimpering child and alternately yelling at him. He was clearly hungry, clutching a closed lunchable. She threatened him that if he didn't stop whining she'd take it away. He was clearly very afraid of her. I politely intervened to say that he seemed hungry and upset and asked if she needed help. He seemed very fearful of her and she yelled at me that she had been with the family 15 years and to mind my business. I know I should not have spoken to her because it wouldn't help the boy but I couldn't help it. It was so sad to see. She then proceeded with her phone conversation talking about my audacity, never once talking with the boy.

You are a hero to stick up for the boy and to take time to place this ad

She needs to be retired.

Keep your eye out and if you see this again - take a picture

If she's been with them for 15 years, I bet the parents already know how she is and don't care.

What a terrible nanny. I go to that Target sometimes. I've seen a lot of questionable behavior from people there. It's definitely not my favirite Target in the city.

15 years and the kid is only 3? I am not sure I quite believe this. I hope that the parents read this and investigate.

oh well -
There's probably older kids in school and this is the youngest sibling.

Good for you OP for standing up and doing the right thing in advocating for this poor little boy.

Shame on this nanny for being so arrogant and selfish.

Its realistic to me. With a three year old, that's a possible 12 year age difference between siblings. My family has a bigger gap than that between our oldest & youngest. Besides were not allowed to doubt the OP. I think that's part of the rules? Idk.

I don't think anyone was doubting the op. I think we all agree that the op was truthful. they were doubting the truthfulness of the nanny.

Hmmm... that's a pretty bad Target. Not that any others are better in the city. I don't understand how parents don't sense the nanny's true disposition.

I will never get it. You can have a nanny like me or you can have a cell phone nanny. I wonder if these relationships between parents and nanny are part of a sick subculture of spiritually destitute people. I've known young women who were molested in childhood and never healed and then put their own children in those situations to repeat the pattern unconsciously. I wonder if the parents of kids with these abusive nannies have a similar psychological makeup. Just passing on the pain, one generation to another. Heal people and stand up for yourselves and your children!
