NANNY CONNECTIONS
I swore I wouldn't do this but after searching the net only to find playgroups that do not exist or ones that are for single parents only, I'm actually asking for playmates for my one year old charge. I nanny in the Milwaukee area and would love to meet up with other nannies/moms with kids of a similar age. This is by no means for me, its is for HER. She is the youngest by 10 years in her family and the youngest in the neighborhood by two years. The library doesn't offer programs for her age until the winter, and she can't do gymnastics until she is walking (any day now!).

This is probably not going to be helpful because I don't live in Wisconsin, but I want to point out that your search for playmates is not totally for her. It is also for you. And that's ok, it is understandable that you need some adult contact during the day, you just need to admit it to yourself. You said your charge is close to walking so I assume she is about 11-13 months. Children that age do not require social contacts, nor do they understand how to play together. My charge is a little younger and she loves watching kids, or in some cases crawling over to other babies and tackling them. But she does not grasp that she is making friendships.

Op, I'm in the milwaukee area and always looking for other nannies to socialize with. What missmannah said is correct that children that age don't actually play with other children but I have to disagree that they don't need social contact. I take care of 19 month old twins and we were just recently allowed to go on outings and I can see that they need more social contact because when we get around other adults and children they get very scared, when I took care of other children who got more social contact they didn't exhibit these fears of people. I know my charges are probably older than your charge since you said she is choose to walking but might be possible to set something up.
There is a website socialtoddler.com where you can search for playgroups in your area, sadly there aren't that many in Wisconsin (just like there aren't that many places to take young children here) but there are some and they have different age ranges so might not hurt to check that out

I agree she can not make actual friends yet but just to get her used to being around other kids would be wonderful.
I tried social toddler and it didn't have much
We frequent parks but its always older kids
