beware 3 BEWARE PARENTS OF MASSACHUSETTS (SPECIFICALLY NORTH SHORE!!) - OF A NANNY BY THE NAME OF LISA D**** - SHE IS A MORPHINE ADDICT WHO WILL NOT WATCH YOUR CHILDREN BUT INSTEAD ROB YOUR HOUSE, RUN YOUR PHONE BILL UP, AND SIT ON HER LAZY BUM THE WHOLE TIME! NOT ONLY THAT, BUT SHE WILL ALSO CLAIM SHE'S ALWAYS MEDICALLY ILL ("IN THE HOSPITAL") - WHEN SHE'S ACTUALLY ADMITTING HERSELF TO GET MORPHINE! IT'S SICKENING. SHE CLAIMS SHE HAS EXPERIENCE WITH CHILDREN AND HAS WORKED WITH MENTALLY DISABLED ADULTS, BUT SHE'S LYING!!! PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN TO BE SUBJECTED TO THIS MORPHINE ADDICT, SHE WILL ROB YOU BLIND AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN!!!

how do you know she is an addict? I take morphine every single day. Why? Because i have chronic pain. There is a major differance between being addicted to pain killers and being dependant on them. Being dependant on pain medication is the same as someone being dependant on insulin or glasses. They need them to live. Unfortunately the most people look down on people who have chronic pain. These people who take heavy pain meds like myself do not feel "high" but instead feel relief from pain. If I didn't have my medication I wouldn't be able to work, clean, or even get out of bed in the morning. Before you judge someone and say they are addicted to something you should find out more about it.
As far as her being a lazy nanny. That would have nothing to do with her medciation. She may just be a bad nanny. But please don't call people drug addicts unless you know for certain they are. in most cases you would be right but not always.

Thank you Phoenix, and I'll second that! My husband has had horrible back pain for 12 years and the doctors still have no clue what it is and so he takes morphine. He is not an addict! I suspect this whole "beware" is BS, someone trying to stop their nemesis from getting good jobs. For shame.

I have read a few of these "Beware" posts and am curious to know if they are being posted by the family that was screwed or someone else. And also, how these families found these nannies. Was it through CL or an agency?

OP, if you can, can you let us know if you were the family that got screwed and if so, how did you find this Nanny? If she advertised on CL, then perhaps you can also post this on the childcare section in her area.

Totally agree with above comments. Something didn't go her way.

Inappropriate posting. And to "Just my two cents" that would be flagged down in a second. You are not supposed to post those types of ads on the childcare section.

Take it to rants and raves.

@jmo...so true. I have seen this types of rants in the childcare section and would never flag them. I think whoever posted something like this would be looking out for all parents and is doing a civic duty for everyone so no children get abused and/or neglected. I guess I am pretty gullible huh guys? I am giving this poster the benefit of the doubt here......

I'm guessing this was posted by an ex-friend or acquaintance (some sort of social, rather than professional, relationship), as it is very general and sensationalized. If it were actually from the parent, I would expect it to be more descriptive and specific to the family's actual experience with this nanny.

You guys are much smarter than me. I just assume anyone who posts a "BEWARE" ad would be honest since saying a child was being abused or neglected is a serious issue. I would never in a million years make something like that up. If OP is lying, she is a snake.

Another Nanny -- my thoughts exactly.

OP eluded to the fact that she was robbed. My mom has fibromylagia, so I am very compassionate towards chronic pain. However, lets give OP the benefit of the doubt? I have known a lot of drug-seeking people who feign illness and injuries to get painkillers. They're addicts and unfortunately they give people with genuine pain a bad name, but they're out there in great numbers. Just because you use morphine in the way it's prescribed, does not automatically mean others don't abuse it. My mom often has to go on the defensive when dealing with her illness and pain management, and it's very sad...but again, that does not take away from the fact that pain medication abuse is a huge, significant epidemic. Lets not assume OP is jumping to conclusions. It's very easy to differentiate between someone in chronic pain and someone that is doctor shopping and abusing meds.
