snippets This is something I have observed and it's just weird. First, I am a nanny and have worked for this family for 5 months and surprise-they pay well and are good parents who treat me with respect. One day a couple of months ago, I was sitting on the sofa talking to my female employer, the conversation ended and I got up and walked away. In the reflection, I thought I saw my employer bend over and smell my sofa cushion. (!) But then, I convinced myself I was wrong. My female employer was sitting at the dining room table folding dinner napkins one afternoon last week and I sat down and talked to her. I got up and left. Then, I remembered something to tell her, I turned around, walked back down the hall and  saw her out of her seat, bent over my chair, sniffing the seat I had just been sitting in. She had to get up and walk to the other side of the table to do this. She didn't see me and I just backed up down the hallway. I won't ask, "what would you do?" because I'm not doing anything!

That is WEIRD! I wouldn't know what to think.

Uh that is so WEIRD!!! I guess my only thing I can think of is your boss a neat freak, or maybe sensitive to smells? I wouldn't say anything unless she truly crosses the line. Maybe next time you chat with her, stand up, move around instead of sitting. Geeze this is just strange!! Good luck!

Wow I think I've heard it all

Maybe it's some sexual fetish, that's the only thing I can possibly think of

Haha I would start fucking with her by getting up switching seats, leaving the room then coming back and sitting in a different seat.

Or when u get up go grab some febreeze and spray the seat then walk out the room. If you asks you why tell that you though she was sensitive to smells since shes always sniffing your ass.

She has dog genes! People are funny, aren't they?

It sounds like she has a harmless fetish, which doesn't have to be sexual, does it? It's hard to believe one leaves a scent on a sofa or chair just by sitting fully clothed.

If it's a great job except for this, don't sit down when you talk to her.

Maybe she REALLY REALLY loves the perfume you wear ;)

Either she's a bicycle seat sniffer or you stink. She could smell ripe cooter and suspect that's it's you.

If you have good hygiene, then don't worry...I mean do worry.

Either way, it's nasty!

She might love you. Pheromes?

LOL--I have to agree with nonoparts (great name). I bet she is smelling something and trying to figure out if it's you. Not that it is, but still. It does make sense.

And silly Village, dogs don't wear genes! Har har.

Sorry I'm in a weird mood.

Do you wipe?

Village...ROFL. Yep whether dogs have genes or not, her behavior is very similar to what doggies like to do.
Um...this is kinda gross and I do not want to say anything...but I will say that your employer is very anal about stuff like this. ;O

Nothing as strange as folks,eh? That is soooooo weird and way too embarrassing to ever mention it to her..is she weird in other ways? Does she make a point of commenting on smells in general.. ? Even if she thinks you smell offensive why would she put her nose right into the place you just sat..so obviously she must get something positive out of sniffing your seat...i would feel unnerved by the whole thing as there is something rather disturbing to sit talking to someone knowing they can't wait for you to leave the room so they can sniff your chair. The fact you've caught her doing it twice makes it seem rather desperate. I think i would let her see that you caught her doing it next time it happens and maybe she will explain herself.. or she'll make an effort to control her urges! Other than that just give her a copy of the book Perfume and if she starts heating up a bath of melted wax, RUN !!

That is really strange. She may have a really good nose and is trying to figure out if you are the one who smells or it's her. LOL

Phoenix--definitely agree, that's what I think, too.

MissMannah--HAHAHA!!! LOL!

Hahaha, nonoparts, that's disgusting. You really managed to gross me out :-) I think the boss is the stinker, but she cannot figure that out.

Maybe hubby has been been hanging his hat elsewhere and she can smell another woman on him. U messin with the hubby? Maybe she wants to see if it's you she smells on him.

That is strange, but coming from a different perspective, maybe it is just an odd quirk. I have a very sensetive nose, and am a sniffer as well. While I can say I have never sniffed anyone's seat after they got out of it, I tend to sniff a lot of odd things, mostly out of habit without even realizing I am doing it or how strange it must seem to others. I sniff my hands all the time, and my shoes when I take them off, and inside of drawers, bags, boxes, etc... my dog's front paws, anything I am about to drink (coffee, tea, water). I don't do it for any wierd, sexual or distrubing reasons, it's just a quirk of mine. I think I am a bit OCD, and this definitly falls under that type of category.
I agree though, next time you catch her, let her see you watching her. She will probably be embarassed and tell you why she is doing it.

JustQuirky, what you do is very different than someone sniffing the space where one's vagina has just left. That is not 'just a quirk'.

Sounds like she has a touch of OCD to me. If everything else is fine, I'd ignore it.
