nanny sighting logo A girl about 2 years old with a West Indian nanny in her 40s? wearing a bright turquoise shirt. The nanny spent at least an hour there talking to a friend, while the girl wandered around the store, dropping pretzels from her bag and then picking them up off the floor and eating them, and also picking up other pieces of food she found. Final straw was when nanny started clipping her nails while talking to her friend, onto the floor of the store. Really gross.

That's just gross. I hope the child doesn't get sick.

Where was the nanny while she (the little girl) was eating from the floor?

What was the nanny doing while she was doing this?

My cats eat from the floor. Duh, because they are cats. They also sit in the window, Simba will run outside if the door is open, and Bookiekins (not her real name) overturns the water dish as she and Simba fight over it. Fat Mama pees on my floor.

My point is, why is the nanny letting this child do this? I don't clip my own toenails; I pay a cute Chinese man to do them for me. I clip Simba and Bookie's claws when they are in a light sleep.

Where was this nanny found? At the NYC Dept of Garbage? She certainly sounds like it.

Ewwww.

Once I finally had to tell a two year old (In front of her dad, 'cause I finally just couldn't stand it another second) to stop eating grapes off of the HOSPITAL floor.
Eating stuff off of the floor where a lot of people walk is seriously dangerous for small children.

I would've walked right up to this nanny and said "Excuse me, but the child is grazing off the floor like an animal and I just came from taking my garbage to the landfill so God knows what she's eating!"

Ew.

Only Dad:

What I was trying to say was that my cats do what they do, such as eating from the floor because that is natural to animals. Children eating from the floor is unnatural and it sounds as if this nanny is teaching the child to do this.

Your comment sounded ignorant.

MissDee,

Don't worry about Only Dad. I got exactly what you were saying.

let's get real said...

I'm with Only Dad Here...what the heck was Miss Dee talking about in that comment? Why did she only give "Bookiekins" a fake name? Who is Fat Mama and why is she peeing on the floor? Why doesn't she clip on her own toenails? Why is she paying a cute Chinese man to do it instead? Why even bring that up?

I'm utterly mystified.

Anyway OP, good sighting. This nanny sucks.

Miss Dee
Until you explained what your comment meant I was mistified too and was wondering what you were talking about.

oh well said...

MissDee, I like reading your posts and I really enjoyed your last one. But I have to say OnlyDad's comment made me smile. Anything can be made fun of if properly edited and taken out of context.

Miss Dee,

LOL sorry if I made you bristle. I have a warped sense of humor and your post was funny considering one of your cats seems to be in the witness protection program.

My apologies if I offended. Sometimes I can't help my self...

Only Dad Here,

LOL!! I mean no offense to Miss Dee, a loyal and long time poster, but my thoughts were just the same. I seriously thought....um okay....but I didn't think of cough....catlady...cough.....pure genius. LOL! And the kitty protection program...lmfao!

P.S. I know my comment sounds "ignorant" but I can't help it......funny is as funny does...

I hafta go with Lola on this one.

Miss dee, you know I love you, so I mean no disrespect. But I think Dad was just trying to be funny...and he does have a very funny way of putting things.
I can see why your feelings may have been hurt...but I seriously think he was just being silly.
(I have a soft spot for well written humor.)
