Nanny Credited with Tot's Daring Rescue (CNN)
A 2-year-old survived an attack that took the lives of his parents, thanks to a quick-thinking nanny who grabbed the boy and dashed past gunmen to safety.

Sandra Samuel and Moshe Holtzberg were the only ones to survive a siege on Mumbai's Chabad House last week. Two-year-old Moshe Holtzberg and nanny Sandra Samuel were the only ones to make it out of the Chabad House in Mumbai, India, alive after attackers stormed the house. The gunmen killed Moshe's parents, Chabad House directors Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and his wife, Rivka, and four others. (Our thanks to Andria)

from what I read the nanny was hiding at the time of the attack and came out of hiding after eharing the mother scream and then gunfire then quiet. She found the little boy sitting next to his parents then ran out of the building.

Thats what I heard too. She was hiding out, and found the child after the noise subsided.

So what's your point? She still grabbed the boy and took him with her. Would it have been better if she barged in and got herself killed? Were you there? So she waited until it was safe and then got the kid, give credit where credit is due.

Can always count on a few of you to be so negative.

She hears an child screaming - she is scared - she believes there are still people shooting in the building and instead of running out quietly by herself she picks up the child who is making noise and could potentially get her killed and you feel the need to nitpick about the fact that she didn't run out of her hiding spot WHILE people were being murdered?

I'm sure you would have chosen the more self preserving route of sneaking out alone.

I think the nanny did a great thing. She could have stayed hiding until the authorities arrived. She could have gone out a window instead of going into the area where she knew the killers had been, and still might be. She could have kept running past the child and made a much speedier and less encumbered getaway, with the increased ability to hide herself again if need be and not risk being found out by a noisy, squirmy child.

How mean to give her anything but praise.
And if she had run out during the gunfire, they would have only killed her too. What purpose would that have served? Maybe she's smart and didn't want to be killed. Duh.

Did I say the nanny did anything wrong? Did I criticize her in any way?

Funny how you all jumped to that conclusion. I just said the news reports differ. That was my point.

My point was that, even with the differing stories, the nanny is still heroic any way you look at it.

My point was that I was not being mean. This is why I love to troll this site, so many people get all worked up so easily it makes it fun!

trolling,
you must be so proud...spending chunks of your time doing something you find worthless. The rest of us actually enjoy this site, and if it means putting up with the occasional troll, so be it.

Glad you made your point which is that you are a troll. I'm also glad to point out that you are a dumbass.

See it works, got everyone worked up. Yeah for me!

Ohhhh, I hope you're a teenager. Otherwise I feel really sorry for you, because an adult having fun that way is truly pathetic.

I'm actually not worked up at all. I'm drinking a glass of wine and laughing at what a dumbass you are.Cheers.

Back on topic -- does anyone know what's happening to that poor kid? I'm saying a prayer for the nanny and for him, but I sure hope there's other family somewhere to take him in and keep her on.
