Complaint: Parents Tortured 14-Year-Old Girl
The parents of a 14-year-old Town of Madison girl are accused of beating, choking and kicking their daughter in what a detective said is the worst case of child abuse that he's seen.
The parents are facing more than two dozen felony charges. Minerva Lopez and Porfino Olivas-Lopez appeared together in Dane County Court on Thursday afternoon.

The child, who along with the two adults cannot be named for legal reasons, was subjected to "a course of assaults of increasing violence" over many months at his home in North London even though he was being monitored by experts.

All I can say is disgusting!!! I don't understand the case with the 17 month old baby. After the first sign or evidence of abuse, why were the parents allowed to have their child back? That poor baby. What a tragic life he had. How can a mother do this, and allow other men to beat on her child?!! Isn't their a maternal mechanism that tell her this isn't right? I can't imagine after 9 months of the miracle growing in your stomach you can do this.
They should get the death penalty. And the officials that didn't do their job deserve to be in jail. They are just as guilty for not doing anything. Better yet too bad they couldn't be hanged.
