Nanny Accused Of Dumping Children At Unlicensed Daycare
L.A. officials say she told multiple parents in Hancock Park and Larchmont that she was taking their children to outside activities. Instead, she left them at a Hollywood apartment.
Patricia Villamarin, 38, allegedly told parents she wanted to expose their children to various cultural activities as an excuse to get them out of the house. Once she received permission to take the children out, she allegedly dropped them off at the apartment and went to work selling fruit at a farmers market in Chinatown.

Ok reminds me of something I think about once a week.

There is a drop in child care about 10 min from my charge's house. About once a week after I've struggled to get her to eat, get dressed, fix her hair etc. I drive by that place and think how nice it would be to drop her and my son off there for the day....of course I would never do it but it's nice to imagine what I could do with a free day every once in a while :-)

TC

Sounds like a place about 20 minutes from my house. Kids club house in Ridgewood, NJ. They watch your kids while you do errands or whatever. I brought my son and he stayed there for two hours. I stayed in the shopping area. Just in case he cried or they needed me. But when I picked up he was fine. He was able to play with kids his age. I thought of doing this once a week. Until he starts school in January. He will be three then and go to school everyday. For 2 1/2 hours. And its not a daycare. Its at a real school. And its for pre-k that have some difficulties. So he will have speech therapy and occupational and physical therapy. I am so excited! I can't wait.

Those places sound great tc and eric's mom...but the difference is that I assume those places are licensed, and you will actually KNOW that your children are there. I did a mother's day out at a local church for a while...once a week for 3 or 4 hours, I think it was. It doesn make a for a nice little break...but they have to be licensed.

Chinese, was she? I wonder if she took the kids some White Rabbit candy.

White Rabbit candy?

What is that?

Recalled because children were reportedly made sick by melamine-tainted dairy products

Wow! I bet those parents were pissed!!

Anonymous said...

Yeah, but not as pissed as the parents of the many children who recently died, or went into kidney failure (No doubt to have a lifetime of serious health implications to follow), from the melamine in the milk supply!

How sad that more concern isn't given to the citizens of China for their health and welfare by the government and those in power.

Lorena that was a dumb a@@ comment.

wow I don't see how I could ever justify that if I did that with the kids I nanny for. I would be sooo upset at my nanny if I had kids and a nanny for them (I don't).

wow this is not okay to do!

PBPrincess is right Lorenza. That comment was really uncalled for.
