Thank you, I really appreciate that.
I realize now just how much work Jane puts into running this site. It is nothing short of amazing.
I really admire her.

This video is awful. The most visually painful thing I have seen in a while.
Poor annoying blonde girl with a models face looking all sultry and sexy....... getting her milk kicked out of her hands by black school girls.....erm how old are these girls.....Honestly this is awful. Worst thing is it was made in England! My home town. I cringe! London school life is pretty ruff but, this video.........is the worst thing I have seen...........I mean come on..........poor poor girl......am I the only one who feels this is outragously racist?

Why is she hanging upside down is she a vampire? If so those girls should of kicked her vampire sulky butt!

Have I got the wrong end of the stick here with this video?..................is this an ad for a failed model turned milk bathing blood sucking vixen?

Whats up with all that milk and semi nakedness......

I am so confused!

Is she a Vampire who lives in the projects who's got milk?

I mean PLUUUUUESE

ANYWAY....

This site is wonderful though...

Dear 7:51/white professional nanny

I find your post hilarious.
You call this video racist, but doesn't your moniker denote YOUR RACE??

Besides, I think your being a little too sensitive. Those black girls never touched her, and it didn't even look as if they said anything, either.
Maybe they were just admiring her beauty?

Oh, and SHE didn't have the milk .... one of the black girls did.

I found it to be a very "sexy" song, and I liked it.
Jane's got great taste in music.

The song is ok......the video is just silly and dull and I find it a funny mix of stuff...what has the video got to do with the song?

I say this with much irony!

Hoping that was understood.....

Just confused about the milk.......and hanging upside stuff.......the song has nothing really to do with the video......
or am I missing something?

cam someone explain the whole milk thing and school girls and life being all wrong for this daff blonde?

Then maybe I can sleep safe a tonight........

Oh well......I made that identity on the spare of the moment due to a lot of comments on some hip hop song and everyone was getting all flustered about. So.....I had a lot to say about it and wanted to really make sure everyone knew I was a white nanny (which I am). I am a rare bird in the playground and nanny scene where I work.......FACT. I think knowing where people come from and what their ethnicity is is important in discussion.

Any news on the milk aspect though?

The song is called "In the waiting line", by Zero 7.

Song Lyrics:

Wait in line
Till your time
Ticking clock
Everyone stop

Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me
Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me

Woooohh
Do you believe
In what you see
There doesn't seem to be
Anybody else who agrees with me

Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe in
What you see?

Nine to five
Living lies
Everyday
Stealing time
Everyone's taking everything they can
Everything they can
Everyone's taking everything they can
Everything they can

Do you believe
In what you feel?
There doesn't seem to be
Anybody else who agrees with me

Do you believe
In what you see?
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe
In what you see?

Ah, and I’ll shout and I’ll scream
But I’d rather not have seen
And i'll hide away for another day

Do you believe
In what you see?
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe
In what you see?

Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Everyone's taking everything they can
Everything they can

From what I gather, the song is about the monotony of life. Everyone passes by, with their own routine, not really paying attention to what is going on around them.
Not going anywhere, a motionless wheel, a daily banal existence, waiting for something .... that may not be real, and not knowing what to believe anymore.

It's really open to interpretation .....
Kind of beautiful and depressing.

And the milk ..... sorry, couldn't quite figure that one out.
Maybe --- it's something that's supposed to be good for you?
Trying to find a purpose?

Hiya MPP! Thanx for keeping the site ongoing during JD's absence. I know how much JD seems to value your contributions and your input and I don't blame her!

MaryPoppin'Pills said...

Thank you, Lorenza. :)
Yes, it meant a lot that she would trust me so much.

Anonymous said...

Hmmm thanx anon.........

I see the light.....

I feel the milk is open to all kind of interpretation! Wholesome milk. The British will always be odd.

Its all about the milk.....

IO guess if I was suddenly covered in milk out of the skies I think I would be having a peculiar day.

I think there should be another verse.....

I was wearing silk
Suddenly I was covered in milk
Whooooooo it was wet
I am now paying my debt
Life is so cruel in everything I do
I wish it was just a bottle of Yahoo
Milk milk milk
Silk silk silk
Give me something merry
Oh whoooooooooo
I wish it was strawwwwwberrrryyyy
Whoooooooo

Now that would be a hilarious video to get involved with!

Anyway any new sightings so I can get all excited by and rant on with.

And yes congratulations Jane this sight is great!

Hey MPP!

I've been gone for a while. Took my son to the midwest and saw the storm devastation. (Got caught up in a pretty gnarly storm ourselves. Scary.)

Anyway, this video was in my e-mail when I returned. It has nothing to do with nannies...but my kids and I have been sitting here, teary, watching it. It's so great. Maybe you want to post it?

If you can't, I hope people will cut and paste this link and watch it.

Welcome back, mom! You were missed!

Thank you Umass!

I haven't even had a chance to read for more than a week. I just looked at the archives for the MIL laxative story. What a turn of events! Nanny DID do it! OMG! That poor family. And OP is not even firing her and apologizing to MIL! Everybody is nuts...poor kids.

Welcome back! ☺

This song is beautiful. As for the video or the fact it was made in England, who cares?

Do you really have to critique everything?

Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe in
What you see?

Come on, that's awesome!

Anonymous said...

love. Love. LOVE this song!!!!!
I put it in my YT favs!
Thanks Jane, what awesome taste you have!
