This afternoon at about 12 PM, I observed a woman-nanny-sitter watching over two children. The little boy was pretty fair complected, with short buzzed hair, a yellow polo and plaid shorts. The little girl was a bit darker, with darker, long hair and slightly chubby. She had on a pink tank top with ruffly sleeves. The person who was watching them had a large, slouchy handbag made of a greenish leather which she wore diagonal across her petite body. She had medium complexion, was very petite, and either Hispanic or Caucasian. Attractive and about 30-35. Only when I was closer did I see that the woman was drinking beer from the handbag. I saw her sipping on one pretty discreetly. Later I heard the whoosh of another can being opened. I passed from behind where I clearly saw the metallic color of a Budlight can.

Burnt out mom LOL
who drinks at noon?
sheesh. and wouldn't a mom just stay home? it isn't like tucson is a walking community. people drive everywhere.
should've snapped her pic from behind.
CALL CPS!!!!! When you see it happening of course. Or go over start up a conversation with this woman find out her name. Then call cps and give them her name.
WOW, can we say alcoholics anonymous!?
Too bad you didn't report her, how can you care for little children while you're getting wasted?
sounds like a mom. and if it is, cps can't do anything-- it's not illegal to drink while watching your own (or anyone else's) kids.
I agree, it sounds like the mom. A lot of parents have a beer or two while in charge of their children. Drinking in a playground however, is illegal most places.
It is illegal in Tucson. You must get a license first for any event in the park that involves alcoholic beverages. As for someone by themselves imbibing, that's out.
Tucson is surrounded by Indian reservations. It stands to reason that the nanny in question could be a native American. Alcoholism remains rampant in the NA communities.
8:26 you are a jerk. You have no constructive comments to make especially in reference to the children. What does native Americans and their acoholism have to do with this issue? The caregiver could be a mom(a mom of any ethnicity). The bottom line is her action was very wrong in every sense.
No, you're a jerk
now they get drunk at work..well well well whats next..sleeping at borders....
Moms wake up..make suprise visits..come home early. go were they tell you they are...
this is going way to far...
this may very well have been an energy drink.
i often have to sneek them myself, because my kids want a sip.
If Bud Light 12 ounce cans is what you consider an energy drink....
energy drink cans are tiny.
unless you are drinking CRUNK juice.
and that can doesnt look like a bud light can.
I would fire my nanny if she was drinking or bringing Crunk in the house.
well, 12:06...
they come in all sizes.
"I clearly saw the metallic color of a Budlight can."
she said it... the metalic color...
didn't actually see "Bud".
I wouldn't drink multiple cans of an energy drink. I would however drink multiple cold cans of budlight if I were forced to take to rugrats to a park in the middle of the summer in Tucson, Arizona. Isn't it like 100 degrees there in the shade?
And calm down, I'm not a nanny. Just a lush.
All this talk is making me crave a Coors.
Me too, and I don't even take alcohol :)
so what do you "take"?
Do you take "the pot"?
8:26 PM
The OP said she was Hispanic, or Caucasian. Whatever you're drinking,
I would lay off, it is affecting your reading comprehension. As for your racism, I can't type what I'm thinking, it would be deleted.
Or a margarita?? Yum. Some jobs can drive you to drink. The best I love when I was young and would babysit on the weekends, the parents would come home drunk. Well the father, and he would always hand me a big wad of cash. I looked forward to when he came home drunk because they always overpaid me.
OMG! That happened to me too! A certain couple I babysat for occasionally would go out and have too much fun, come home, and hand me a huge wad of cash. The next day, I'd call the wife and tell her that they overpaid me, and she always said "just keep it". I loved that family, not because of the money, but because they were such characters, down to the 1 year old.
Hey Somewhat
Yeah, the family I use to work for same way. They were so nice, cool. Never expected anything but someone to play with their kid, no housework. Please, when he handed me the cash, I just said thank you
never called up because he knew he gave me extra. They always did. Was that how it was for you too?
Yeah, they almost always gave me extra cash, although they gave me much more (in addition to taxi fare) whenever they went out at night. I think it's because they knew that I really loved my job. I mean the kids were great. No hassle, we played for hours, had dinner, I gave them baths, read some books, and they went to sleep without a squeak. While they slept, I cleaned up nicely and sat down to do my homework. They moved to a different town, but I stil talk to them. Nice family, one of a kind.
What the hellis Crunk Juice and I always see the word spelled with a K, not a C....unless perhaps Krunk and Crunk Juice are not related.
"Tucson is surrounded by Indian reservations. It stands to reason that the nanny in question could be a native American. Alcoholism remains rampant in the NA communities."
Hahahaha. This is such an ignorant comment. Maybe she was a black nanny, because most people that break the law are black. Or perhaps she was actually a mother from the trailor park, because only poor people drink beer around kids.
Sometimes your comments sound like this.
Sometimes things are better left unsaid.
