Wednesday

Walter Pierce Park in Washington, DC

Received Wednesday, February 21, 2007
(Today) A 2yo white child named Nina was with a Black sitter with red, curly hair. The playground was icy and borderline unsafe for kids to play. Nina was unsupervised for the 40 minutes we were there. She stood on an icy play structure for a long time without playing. She then slipped and cut her lip. When my friend saw she was bleeding, she brougt Nina over the sitter. Playground was so icy she needed to be escorted. Sitter was reading and writing. After a minute, she went back ingoring her and continued to write in her notebook

Can I just start the comments out tonight by asking, what happened to "L". She disappeared again.

Back to Nina, I guess OP must have been more calm than I. I have never witnessed something like this but I think I would scream at the caregiver. And yes, I understand that would cause the children anxiety.

Do you really have to metion that the child is white and the sitter is black..Who cares people are people.

um, this site relies on descriptions of people so that the nanny's employer can recognize her nanny. It's not like they have serial numbers across their forehead!

And anyone who has a problem being described as black or white or Hispanic or African American as part of a relevant description- they have real issues!

fact of the matter, if i read a nanny sighting and the nanny is Hispanic- I am going to read closer. Looking for my own nanny. I mean come on! There is a reason we have these indicators on our driver's liscence! Stop bending over backwards to hop on the PC bandwagon.

Yes, the nanny was unattentive, but
"borderline unsafe for kids to play" And yet, you were there?

I think the difference was this: the child who got hurt was unattended and the ones who didn't had their nannies right there.

It is sad that the girl fell and busted her lip and then had to be taken to her nanny. The nanny is in the wrong here no doubt. I am a nanny and I think something like this is grounds for firing her.I mean the main job of a nanny is to keep the children safe and if they happen to have an accident at least take responsibilty and don't rely on strangers to inform you about you injured charge.

What did it appear to be that she was so intently working on with this journal?

PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE. Yes.
Do you really not know the point of this website? You know about platewire? where people complain about people's driving but atleast they have their liscence plate #. So here you gotta describe the person.
