Description of Nanny: African American black nanny with short, fluffy hair, medium skin, tall, long neck, wearing gold bangles, white jeans with rips in both front thighs and white t-shirt with a gold cat on it that said "My Pussy". (really)
Description of Child: Chubby white girl in red short sleeved dress, with blunt bob haircut, bangs, brown hair and blue eyes. The girl was wearing a silver ID? bracelet on her left hand.
Incident: I Saw Your Nanny mistreating your child! I saw the little girl asking to go home and complaining that she was tired, hungry and thirst. The nanny told her, "oh you always hungry, go play". She said that to her multiple times. Finally the girl came back and said, "But I really am thirsty". The nanny took out a Mott's Apple Juice box, popped a straw in it, took a long drag and then handed it to the girl. The girl said, "But you drank it." The nanny said, "Yeah, so, you can share." The little girl said, "But I am really thirsty. I am playing, you are just sitting". The nanny said, "Yah you're playing, I'm working, go on now." On this day, it was really warm and muggy out. I brought my child to play but we only stayed for 20 minutes because it just felt unpleasant. This nanny and child were still there.

Meh- The kid was probably ok. I used to take a sip from my nk juice boxes before handing it to them as well- it helps the juice not spill when little hands grip the box too firmly.
Sharing sipping straws!?! Gross! The nanny must not be the germaphobe that I am. Also, doesn't seem to have two uckfs to give regarding the child's well-being. True bad sighting!
I second the "meh" feeling. I mean, not a good many sighting but I really don't think that makes her a "bad" nanny or mistreating the child in any way.
I do the same thing, for the same reason..
I can see one of my charges saying they're hungry. The truth is - if we go to the park after breakfast and stay for an hour or two - they probably do get a little hungry. But I don't carry snacks with me everywhere like most people do.
We do have drinks, mostly water.
They can wait till we get home.
I expect the kids to be hungry for meal times.
:)
My nanny would be extra super concentrated fired if she put her mouth on my kids' straw! What in the ever loving hell?!? Moms can do that to their own kids, but a nanny? Is this crazy day? Nope, nope not on your life!
How about you teach them how to hold it before putting your mouth on a little kid's straw. Sheesh!
Box trick. Take the folded down tabs on both sides of the box at the top and break them away from the box pulling them up towards the sky. They become wings to hold. This is the only way my young charges are allowed to hold them. As they age and learn, this changes of course.

I seriously do not see a problem at all whatsoever with sharing a kid's straw. You think your nanny has germs worse than all the stuff kids put on/in/near their mouths??? No way!
I don't care what germs my kids pick up. But I'll be pissed off if my nanny put her mouth on something my kids eat or drink. don't know if she is prone to cold sores, has gum disease or any myriad of issues. FWIW, I'd also be livid if she kissed them on the mouth or allowed my baby to put his little hand in her mouth. My kids, my rules.
You're the type of parent that creates a low immune system in kids. I bet you are all "antibacterial" this and that and sanitizers, huh? Germophobes get sicker harder when it strikes. Good luck with that.
Angi
No. No antibacterial anything at my house. I encourage my kids to play and explore but kids germs are one thing. Nanny diseases are a whole nother thing! I'd feel the same about anyone (other than Dad or myself ) kissing their lips or sharing straws. It's not that the nanny is especially germy. It's anyone other than ourselves.
* I guess germs qnd disease are just two more things in which you're an expert, Angi
God forbid should your kids experience human germs....other than yourselves of course, because your germs are far superior and nonthreatening. Ooooooooo the big bad. Smdh wow
Angi
I don'[t know what crawled up your bum- and died- Angi, but my kids, my rules. In what planet is sharing utensils, straws, lip smooches with other people ok? If/when you have kids please allow them to kiss and swap spit with everyone.
Stop this Sanctinanny attitude that you have. For what it's worth my husband doesnt kiss anyone on the lips who isn't in out nuclear family either. Oh, the horror! We're a family that has boundaries different than your own! Call the news programs! GTFOH!!
somehow a main point seems to be not addressed - the nanny clearly was resentful of the child and the feeling was mutual - yes the kid is a handful - very articulate - " i'm playing you're sitting" " I'm working" i have worked with kids like that and charmed the socks off of them, this nanny seems to be wrong for this child ;(
You're assuming I haven't. You don't have any clue about my family, past, present. Making assumptions makes you ignorant. I really don't give a rats as what you do...just calling out on your irrational thinking. Parents have germs and diseases too lady...they arent exclusive or special.
Angi
Nannies, being from the lower classes are more likely to have lice, crabs, bedbugs, hiv, typhoid, etc. No thank you! My nanny knows NO sharing! But then again, she also knows NO SITTING!
You seem to have a reading comprehension issue. They're my kids. No one other than my DH and I can decide what to do with them. It's not a judgment on the nanny or calling her diseased.
This bugs you why? Why do you GAF about my kids? I couldn't care less about your kids. I didn't make assumptions about your personal life. I have zero Fs to give about your life. I expressed my wishes for my kids. Other people can do as they wish with theirs. Dang!
Are you F'ingkidding me? You need NOT have employees in your house. You are pure ignorance. NEWSFLASH... HIV, STDs and diseases are carried by ALL classes. If you're so worried, why have a nanny around you kid at all? Wow. The most boneheaded thing I have read ye on this site. You are ignorand and "low class".
Angi
Great....I can still call you out on your irrational thinking. No one stopped you from making your comments
Angi
That's not even funny! Do you really believe that only nannies carry disease?
You're a gem ;) I hope you're not this pigheaded in real life. People have different lifestyles. Whether they're irrational isn't for you to decide. I'll raise my kids how I want and you raise your fictional kids how you want mkay!?!
There now you go share your expert advice with all the "ignorant " masses out there. Since you know all the things!!
I'm just sitting here with some popcorn watching all you butthurt people. This is hilarious.
Yep, this mom is farting higher than than where her bottom is located...
Right back at ya. It's funny how people like you can dish it but not get it. You realize you're doing the same exact thing, right? Lol so
Angi
Logic fail. That makes sense if I were telling you how to raise your kids. I'm not. We disagree. The sky wont collapse in top of us. Life will go on. You will henceforth be known as a blowhard in my brain, but so what? Doesn't cost you anything.
Not at all a matter of "taking it". It's about not letting some know-it-all nanny tell me ANYTHING about MY babies.
Good day!
Ok, I'll admit unashamedly that I LOL'd a little too hard at this exchange. Mostly 'cause I've been reading this site for a while and every single time Angie posts, she's claiming to be a specialist in the issue at hand .
I swear someone could write " my boss is an alien from the planet Nebulshelmp and wants me to feed the children toad spawn and jello " and Angie would say "I've been doing that for 39 hundred years. Here's how to cook it." It's ridiculous!
Also, I'm not a parent yet. Due March 16th and I'm already experiencing Mamma Bear Syndrome. The thought of any boundary stomping has me seeing red. I almost blessed my MIL OUT yesterday for advising against breast feeding!
All that to say: I feel ya Mom upthread. Do you with your babies!
LMAO Lexie!!
HAHAHA. It's so true, Lexi.
I agree with you Lexie, but I would be Angi's nanny friend anyday because she seems to have so much knowledge. I've been a nanny for a little over 8 years now and find it hilarious how some of the "moms" think, which then directly relates to the way they treat their nannies. Mom POV is delusional, I lol'd so hard........did she really say "raise my babies"??? Hahahaaaa, even though a nanny is the one that spends more time with your babies than you do, so she's actually doing the raising. I'm a college educated american nanny and so glad that I have never work for a "Mom" like you.
