Hello everyone,
I just want to warn you that ABC Nannysource NJ was rude unprofessional and mean to me. I assume if they were like this to me they are like this to all of their nannies.
I signed up with them 3 years ago. They seemed excited to have me and I was excited to be with them. I showed up on a Fri so I can sign their paper work and they can take my picture so I can be on file with them. They they told me I need to take their online CPR and FIrst aid course (even though I was already certified $25) and I needed to pass a drug test ($25 dollars) that once they found me a position they would 100 percent re-emberse me. Okay no problem.
They sent me on 2 interviews that during the time I would need to be there would take me 2 hours with traffic! I called up and told them exactly where I would want to be placed and where I wouldn't be comfortable driving. I haven't heard from them in 6 months and I saw on America choice nanny that this agency had perfect family's for me in the exact location I would love to work in so I called them up and I was told I was under qualified. (I have a BA in early childhood education and 10 years’ experience)
Thank God I found sittercity and care.com. I called them up today and I was told I needed to re-certify myself with them and come in on a Sat. Well my main position just moved to Europe and I work only on Sat. I was told that since I cause them a lot of "trouble and annoyance" they don't want to represent me.
I asked about my $50 dollars and they hung up on me..........I am confused, hurt and pissed I lost my 50 bucks. What should I do? Does anyone have a similar experience

You should never pay an agency to be listed with them. That is your first red flag. I have had good experiences with A Choice Nanny in Northern New Jersey. Sorry this happened to you!
I live in a small city, and therefore generally just find new positions via care.com or by word of mouth, but I would definitely never pay a nanny agency to be listed..
I was contemplating leaving my then job in a childcare center when I found a new agency opening. The other two agencies in town I am not too fond of, as I have seen one agency place the same positions over and over.
Long story short, I had an interview with the agency, who loved my background, yet I never heard from them regarding any positions I was interested in. Emails went unanswered; I would express interest in positions and was blown off. Their process was sending over applicants and letting the family choose who they wanted to interview. Personally, I feel as though that is the wrong way to run an agency, as that only highlights certain applicants that the owner may be friends with or close too. I also feel it doesn't give everyone a fair chance, and it is downright unprofessional.
Apparently I was "lost in the shuffle of applicants", and "there were over 100 applicants for each position". I thought this was funny, as I have years of experience in early childhood ed, am a natural with children and have an in-depth understanding of child development. My references are good and my background clean. How does an agency go from raving about someone's background during an interview to blowing them off for no reason?
I will never go through an agency again. I am almost sfraid to, that I will be rejected for having too much experience, or being too professional.
I went through ABC nanny source in Philadelphia- I wonder if it's run by the same people? Anyway, I had an awesome experience with them. I don't remember having to pay any fees though. It's been a while. I found two great jobs through them. In fact, even after I'd moved out of the area, I received a couple more job offers from them. Like I said, maybe they're not run by the same people. But I had a great experience.
I think it is ridic that they made you pay for an "on-line" CPR + First Aid course. These courses that are on-line are nothing but scams who will mail you a certificate as long as you have the $20 to send them. A legit CPR + First Aid course will need to certify you in person. You will need to perform on a dummy and take an in-class written exam in order to get certified. Most daycare centers in my area scoff at on-line CPR + First Aid certificates. Many accredited Elementary schools do not accept them as well.
Hi after registering for one and half yrs with ABC a lot if interviews I finally found one job in Maddison NJ very nice family ...it take me almost two hrs to work in traffic and the amount of milage and gas its costing to get to and from work...I call them trying to explain the distance I had two interviews with the family one at 7pm at night no traffic one on Saturday no traffic .....also the baby cries none stop I'm concern about the child well been ...so I call them they told me there's nothing they could do because I'm committed to the family for one year...I want to know if there's any way I could break this commitment. ...I'm unhappy on this job I'm under a lot of stress ....please someone advise me ...
Even though you signed a contact talk with the family and let them know you don't feel you're a good match. Trust anyone who truly loves their child will not want to employ someone who doesn't want to be there. It has to be a good fit for both parties for optimal performance. I've broken a contact before and although I didn't want to it was necessary! Communication is key! Good Luck
They are horrible wirh employers too. They are all about collecting their comission. Their one year guarantee is a gimmick , and scam.
My nice nanny gave notice wirhin a month and they did not gave me refund or help me find another one as promissed with the same requirements that i hired my forst nanny.
ABC nanny is the worst agency every. I had a terrible experience with them. I am surprised they are even still in business. They are nasty, unprofessional and dishonest.
2 years later, 2/15/18, just got a call frim another parent, who found me at yelp, they got scammed too. Similar story. They don’t provide the nanny and they charge the parent several thousand dollars
I love ABC Nanny Source. Ive worked for them in the past and they were fantastic. Professional is an understatement. I would suggest this company to anyone who is looking for complete, trusting, and caring staff .
In 3 years they never got me a job just took my money my profile is not up they only send me FAKE case because out of 5 case the parents change their mind lol
BEWARE OF ANY ABC NANNY SOURCE!!! THEY ARE ALL THE SAME OWNER AND THEY ARE ALL A SCAM!!
I paid over $5000 to find the perfect match - and have NOTHING to show for it! They sent me profiles from candidates that I had found myself on care.com and nanny lane. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!
Go to my website www.abcnannysources.com.
I will be adding a link to this blog as well. They have scammed me as well
