I just phoned one of the most reputable nanny/domestic agencies in New York City in search of a nanny. I was informed that their nannies were being paid between $18 and $30 per hour, depending on the position. I won't say the name of the agency, least Isend them any business but $30 per hour for a nanny?

That's the problem, nobody is following them. I like her rules also, but it seems that every week a new person is picked on, and something needs to be done.
I think it's a good idea, and if some posters would get personally involved there would be a much more positive atmosphere around here for them.
Actually, the problem on the board right now, the last 72 hours, is an insane amount of back and More from one side which sadly is NOT the trolls. Look at 6:47 actually egging the other side on. 6:47, will you really feel good if the attacks start up again? 8:06 you too? What do you hope to gain by posts like that? As someone else pointed out, I ask too, is it really THAT important to have the last word? Or do you just miss the conflict? Are some of you upset that it stopped? At least from the one side anyway. Be careful guys, lest YOU become the trolls.
what's bad about the 6:47 post? it looks like somebody is calling for someone. and yesterday there were hardly any postings.
You misinterpreted the intent of 6:47, and 8:06 is funny and not intended to incite anything.

Well, I for one want to thank the person who showed everyone who the real trolls and troublemakers are. Now we know who to aviod if the use a moniker and ignore if they don't!
how do we ignore the anonymous? the comment is up for everyone to see, in all it's glory, and there's no way to take it back. unless jane deletes it.
as for whoever you believe that has a moniker and is acting like a troll, that would be on them.
most people that use monikers aren't going to go around to every thread stirring up trouble like someone who's anonymous would.

sorry jane - i was meaning *any* comment that was offensive. not so much one that is obnoxious enough to delete, but one that would personally upset a poster. it's there for everyone to read.

The first response mentioned British nannies. Is there a demand for them? I plan to work in either NY or San Francisco and am wondering what my chances are. I actually have dual citizenship (US/British) so would be legal to work in the US but I have lived in London my whole life and have a British accent :)
I have a degree (in languages), plus 5 years of nannying experience for a special needs boy (also ABA trained), plus I have attended and gained certificates for a number of nanny courses (including first aid etc).
Anyone care to let me know how much they think I can make? $30 an hour???? Thanks!
