Why not blame the employer? They have no responsibility? Why? Maybe the only job they can get doesn't pay minimum wage. $5 an hour is better than $0 an hour. You do what you have to do to feed your family. Unless you've been there maybe you shouldn't act like you know it all.
So instead of having $0 income, you've accepted a job at less than minimum wage so that you would at least have some money to feed your family.
Then you should be a lot more understanding & less judgmental. Unless, of course you have never been in this situation. Which, judging by your responses is much more believable.
Did any of your employers know about nanny appreciation week? Did they do anyything for you?
A few weeks ago my family gave me a shirt that says "I'm the REAL super nanny!" So I wasn't expecting anything. Especially with the holidays about to start. But Friday morning they gave me a cookie cake that said "thanks for choosing us!", a picture of the kids in a frame they made, and a $200 check! I was so touched.

What is Nannypalooza? Never heard of it.
I've been a nanny for 9 years and never knew about his "holiday" lol.
I've wanted to go to Nannypolooza for a few years now but I'm scared to go by myself, lol.
This might be a good chance for all you upper class millionaires to start thinking what it is like for us nannies living on minimum wage or less!
If you're a nanny working for less than minimum wage, it is time to find a new job. Don't blame your employers because you made a bad choice.

That was an intelligent & thoughtful cop out, I mean response.

Excellent question, Lyn...
I would love to hear if any Nannies were recognized this week and received appreciation for their hard work?
