HAVING A SICK SON DOES NOT MEAN YOU COULD OF DEVOTED SOME TIME TO THIS WEBSITE. THERE IS TIME AT NIGHT TO DO IT. OR YOU COULD OF DONE IT BY GETTING SOME ONE TO CARE FOR YOUR SON. OTHER PEOPLE CAN DO BOTH . I KNOW YOU WILL DELETE THIS BUT I DON'T CARE AS I HAVE A VERY SICK CHILD BUT HAVE SUPPORTIVE FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO HELP OUT SO I CAN KEEP MY WEBSITE GOING FOR MY DEVOTED FANS.
Anonymous, Jane Doe was doing a fine job running the site while MPP was taking care of her son. I'm glad MPP has her priorities in order, unlike someone else.
I'm sure you are feeling relieved- must have been a scary experience. I'm so glad to hear he's doing better, and I wish him continued recovering and good health!
Mary Poppin Pills: I can't wait for you to run the blog again. While I know you surely must disagree with certain comments by certain posters, (as we all have at one time or another), I appreciate the fact that you do not delete specific comments that you do not agree with. Jane Doe has done this to many of my posts since you left and I strongly think it is due to the fact that my opinion does not line up with hers.
Sadly, this post will probably be deleted as soon as Jane Doe reads this, which just proves my point.
I truly appreciate all of your comments. I have said many times before that I do not delete comments unless they are Anonymous or Racist... but just to prove I can take the heat I will let the Anonymous comments in this thread stand.
My son is my number #1 priority Anonymous (see? the reason they get deleted is because you don't know which one I might be referring to!)... and while I enjoy taking care of ISYN I hope all of you understand that I have very little family support. Both Parents and Grandparents have passed on, one brother is disabled from a serious MVA that broke his neck and my other brother takes care of him. I am basically on my own. I devote what free time I have to this site only because I love it so much.
As for Jane, she is someone I really admire. She has been a true friend to me when so many others have more important things to do and for that I will always be grateful.
MPP, there is no reason to explain the obvious! Those with reasonable faculties and an ability to empathize with others already understand your decision to devote your undivided attention to your son. Even if you had a great support system, you are mom, doing what mom's do!
It sounds like the Anonymous poster has a chronically ill child, which is different from when your child has a sudden illness. If her child is chronically ill, it would not be healthy for her to only focus on the child. But when a child gets sick and is recovering, it's normal to focus solely on the child until he is better.
It really disturbs me how hostile people in this country can be towards parents who choose to make their families their priority (the way it's supposed to be).
I know who the anonymous person was and that was me. I was also stating that you can ask friends for help. To wow. i have a sick child but my child is not chronically sick thank goodness. but had a very bad bout of swine flu and with the support of mainly friends i got through it with my child.family and friends where able to let me take some well earned rest and time off .
MPP: If I were you, I would delete the nasty anon comments. I'm all for free speech, but would not put up with an ignorant person making these ridiculous statements. It's a blog and I appreciate the free and lively exchanges. However, when someone starts personally attacking you (or someone else) as a bad mother/person, that is going too far. It puts you in a position where you naturally defend yourself when in reality you shouldn't even have to be exposed to that kind of malignant nastiness. In my mind, anything to do with our children - *especially* regarding their health - should be off limits for trolling.
I agree nycmom...I think people who post mean comments like that are not only trolls, but they are cowards since they are hiding behind a computer screen undetected. Too bad they cannot say what they really think to people in real life. I guess they use blogs to let off steam.......
Thanks to the both of you for your support, I appreciate it more than you know. I usually have pretty thick skin and the negative comments rarely bother me but when you have other things going on it makes it more difficult to ignore so sometimes it is best for me to just step away. I am trying to not let it bother me and as far as everything else I am sure things will get back to normal soon.

Anon: MPP is a beloved member of this unique online nanny community. Care to borrow my glue gun for that inappropriate comment?
MPP, I am so happy that your son is okay and we missed you!

Anonymous,
Be grateful you have such a wonderful support system.
I don't have that luxury.
